From what Iâve learned there may be air in the system. You can rent to tool or take it to a shop and have them remove all the air from the system.
You are correct. Air in the system. But the system is a closed system, which means air was introduced from a part that is leaking. You cannot remove the air without fixing the leak. Mine was a condenser leak. But there are a few different ac parts that can cause this. Find your leak, get your system pressure tested or color dye tested to confirm, replace part, refill ac refrigerant. But find a way that will work for you and save you money.
â@@unlistedvideo2164 Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it for you and if you don't mine me asking what was the price tag for everything.
Can this happen after a condenser replacement?
@@AlexsRTLife take a Compressor
Had the same issue on my 2016 grand Cherokee summit . Had it to the shop 3 times and they replaced the condenser and didnât fix itâŠ. Couldnât spend any more $$$$$ on professionals to guess what the problem is so I used a smoke machine from amazon the I paid about $100 for and connected it to the low pressure side and surprise!!! The AC compressor had a leak behind the clutchâŠ. Easy replacement and took it to a nice guy to pressure test and refill the system. No more issuesâŠ
My 2019 Grand Cherokee is making the same noise. Iâve taken it in 4 times and no one can figure it out. They even wrote it up as â Customer states AC sounds like Darth Vaderâ
Hello did you find out what the issue was? Im having the same noice
Hey did you find a solution my vehicle is the same year and has the same problem?
Definitely something behind the dashboard. They donât wanna have to take the dashboard out just for a $100 diagnosis fee or for free to look for the problem. Iâm almost 100% sure itâs the ducts being partially blocked aka closed from blend door problem. It will hiss. If that happens Your ac or heat wonât be working their best.
I don't understand that people don't spend 70⏠for an AC check and full airco I don't only need antique or fluids but also hidroliq oil also has to be filled for your pump and good lubrication function this can save you a lot of money Mvg Fernando
Had the same issue at 30K miles with my 2014 Citadel. Dealer replaced the compressor/condenser under warranty ($3600) and it fixed the issue. Now at 77K miles and seven years later it has started again. Luckily its still under warranty for 120K miles.
Lol a compressor and condenser is like 400 bucks
Yep. Not at a dealer though
Mine was doing that, then would stop, then start again. I got barely cold air. That hissing is so loud too like a HUGE leak. Was low over a pound on refrigerant and was leaking at the compressor and schrader valves. Once it was filled and the leak fixed it no longer does it and A/C runs normal. I knew it had something to do with the charge, when it's low on charge the evaporator can ice up, the refrigerant can turn to liquid instead of vapor - all sorts of odd things. Mine started hissing like that even when I was still getting cold air BTW, but got more and more often as the charge fell. Chrysler uses a TXV valve system like house A/C's, so maybe it has something to do with the refrigerant metering? Dunno. For a mechanic to explain I guess - just passing along my experience with my Chrysler 300 (same A/C system as Charger/Challenger).
This should be a recall issue itâs really common on Jeep dodge Chrysler most of the videos I seen is always the ac and the cam shaft going out on these vehicles and both repairs are crazy expensive Jeep dodge Chrysler have to do better this been going on for years
Camshaft/ lifter issues are known on both chevy and chrysler.. need to upgrade to 6.1/6.4 springs, lifters depending on generation of hemi.. i use srt viper oil filter with higher oil psi relief on all hemis, but especially to help prevent 5.7 hemi camshaft issues

Maybe Do your Research "After the Fact, Go buy and try to Fill your vehicle's HVAC system with the wrong kind of refrigerant before you read about it and see what your vehicle actually takes.
absolutely brilliant that's the entire process how to fix it, well done
thank you
very informative, time well spent :-)
At 40k miles the dealer fixed it out of warranty and it was a bad air compressor. Dealer said big job and common issue. im at 80k now and it just happened again....
Same thing is happening to me. But filling the refrigerant only lasts for a day so thereâs a much bigger problem
Mine still blows colds even weeks after refrigerant recharge but itâs still hissing. Iâll be posting a video whenever I get it diagnosed and fixed
@@AlexsRTLife Yea I tried fixing with refrigerant refill but it runs out so quick and is back to blowing hot air and the gage reads 0. Iâm wondering if itâs a hose. Hope it isnât the compressor. Not sure if itâs worth buying another can of freon but the one with the Dye inside to detect where the leak is to assess the problem and maybe see if it is a hose or a compressor issue. Or I just wait and take it to the shop to have them take care of it
@@AlexsRTLife 2017 Toyota Camry btw so shouldnât be normal for cars like this. Probably a major leak somewhere or not sure if pressures are off but otherwise iâm thinking of just going to the shop and having them check it out
@@AlexsRTLife did you ever get that hissing diagnosed? My Jeep makes the same exact sound
I havenât, I been procrastinating since itâs still blowing cold. Imma go ahead soon and get it diagnosed
There is a leak somewhere. Mechanics will put a UV dye in your system and can check with a light at a later time to identify the source of the leak. It could be be coming from anywhere
This is the exact same issue I'm having on a 2013 durango. Even same issue you have when sitting on idle it's more noticeable, but when driving its very quiet. I'll update about remedy just incase it's different problem other than a condenser, compressor or hose.
Mine as well. 2013 Durango. Recharging the ac only lasts a few days but hear the same sound when I turn it on. When the ac is no longer cold (refrigerant has all leaked out), the sound stops. Fixing other issues at the moment so I'll get to the ac issue soon lol
@warhawk813 it was my condenser. I suggest buying the part and taking elsewhere other than the dealership for repair. But the hissing is gone and the ac is blowing snow again.
I don't understand that people don't spend 70⏠for an AC check and full airco I don't only need antique or fluids but also hidroliq oil also has to be filled for your pump and good lubrication function this can save you a lot of money Mvg Fernando
2021 Chevy traverse doing this. I have had it filled with freon which takes 38oz of that 1233yf (expensive). After a week its empty. The shop can not find a leak which is crazy.
It's DEFINITELY A LEAK
If it didn't stop after you recharged then you might want to get a new expansion valve.
It usually means a leak in the condenser, or a bad compressor, valve or evaporator. Usually means warm air coming out too.
Had AC issues with my 2014 grand Cherokee every single year after buying it...Whatever they do at the dealership to fix it is a patch and the same issue happens again the following year. This year it's working for the first time ever, I changed the ac compressor last year so that might have fixed it.
2018 Durango R/T --- I have the exact same issue. Took it to dealer they are saying is the condenser, quoted $1200. Im taking it to a local A/C Repair shop tomorrow to quote. the part is $479 Mopar so lets see
What did it end up being ?
any update?
You have the newest refrigerant and the most expensive good luck
Happened to me and my condenser was leaking after I replaced it it went away
I started to have the exact same problem with my 2015 durango RT. I went to several mechanics last week and they told me that the condenser has to be replaced. It has several leaks on it and it's $1000 to do the recharge and to replace the condenser.
Because those are two different refrigerants r134 damages ozone and now new cars take the new kind that is flammable and burns off before reaching and damaging the ozone layer I work ac
2018 jeep grand cherokee had this issue and had to get a new compressor. Luckily i had extended warranty because it cost about $1500.
common issue with jeep/dodge/chrysler. youâll fix it and eventually it WILL happen again.
Having this issue in 2021 Grand Cherokee. Literally just got it back from the dealership. Said it was bad cabin air filter that allowed debris into the blower fan. It isnât. Not fixed. Ugh.
Any updates? I got this issue after they changed my air filter and still no luck for me.
my AC works for a while, say 30 minutes. then blows warm air for 10 minutes. repeat. what's going on?
2016 Mazda 3 just shy of 185K started doing this today đą when it first started it was blowing cold air but hissing, after about 20 minutes the air got hot and wonât cool down. I just had my Freon levels checked a few months ago and it was full. Iâm guessing itâs a busted hose somewhere. Taking it to the shop on Tuesday đ€đ» mine hisses when Iâm driving as well as idling but if I turn the ac off and just blow air it doesnât do it.
I also feel like the air isnât really blowing out of the vents even tho I have it on high and I can hear the blower
Is your problem fixed, having same problem Mazda 2016 CX3, when AC is on wierd noise comes , noise settles down when car in motion. Not sure if compressor is culprit.
@@aloktechie7981 negative đą canât remember what the exact part they told me to replace but itâs something in the dash. It has a nasty Freon leak leaked all its Freon in about 4 days. Dealership quoted me 2300 to fix which is more than I owe on the car. Will drive this one a bit longer but Iâm thinking on getting another Mazda soon. Mines almost at 192k miles so itâs had a good life
Dude mine just started doing this today. Beyond annoying. Can hear it over the music đ
Yeah it supper annoying, and Iâm covered under warranty but I donât trust these dodge dealers at all!
Did you fix the problem?
I got the same problem in my hellcat just started today ? Do you know what was the problem?
Is refrigerant the same as Freon?
I have the same problem with my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.. I get the hissing at idle and when I turn on/ off the AC. Did anyone figure out the problem?
My car is hissing the same but for a second when i turn it on , gas is not leaking. Is this normal? Car is.2007
Did anyone ever find out what was the issue? Having this problem on my dodge caravan
Thatâs your evaporator core
Whats up bro any update
I have same issue on 2019 Durango gt
Vid was no help lmao
I think its the expansion valve
Sounds like grinding more than hissing. Bet the blower motor
My 2021 Cherokee is doing the same thing. I wish I would of saw this video before spending damn near 70 bucks on a 134a can with the adapter that doesnât fit. Ugh. No other video mentioned that! So thanks but to late for me. Did you ever find out what the problem was ?
Not yet, I been putting it off since I still got cool air
@@AlexsRTLife I think I see green refrigerant all over the radiator. The engine coolant is a orange color. So Iâm thinking there is a hole somewhere or hose itâs leaking from. Itâs a lease also. Nothing but problems with these jeep cherokees for some reason
Hey I have a 2017 dodge durango and ac has this hissing sound that is driving me crazy.I top up on the refrigerant and it started blowing cold but after a few weeks its not cold anymore and the sound continues.
Itâs your evaporator core
Damn my grand Cherokee just started doing this đą
Did you ever solve the problem?
Not yet, appointment at dealership soon though. Will upload video on it
I have the exact issue going and today I noticed refrigerant splatter down near the bottom of the radiator. There was a very small amount but itâs definitely there. My a/c actually blows just as cold as it ever did, so Iâm a little confused, but my appointment is on Monday. Will update if I donât hear anything before that. Good luck!
Well?
Any updates?
Hi there, did you managed to find actual issue, is it the compressor or condensor or evaporator or something else ??? Please let me know Mazda CX3 is giving same shit to me know
Not exact yet. Will wait until next summer since itâs still blowing cool and hot for now. Will post video once officially diagnosed and fixed though
Any update on this topic?
If you ever find out what it is let me know would love to know what it is
Thatâs your evaporator core
How do you know forsure
@@10percent48 Iâm 100% positive thatâs your evaporator core you can hear the hissing you could also hear it through the vents usually those crack and have a leak
@@cristianortega2634bro I have a 2018 Honda I just change my evaporator core and still have the same hissing sound đ€·đŸââïž
How much is it to fix the evaporator? they told me thatâs what was wrong in my 2018 challenger
@@user-le7ce2jp5m I have a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and this same issue started like 3 weeks ago. Dealership said its a leak in the evaporator and that I needed to replace it. They quoted me $3,900 for parts and Labor because the entire dashboard has to come off and the steering wheel. I am reading more and more that this is a known issue with Jeeps. SMH
I have the same issue smh can you give us an update when you have it
Definately
same 2017
@@AlexsRTLife anything?
Had to replace condenser
Didn't you buy the extended warranty?
I do have full b2b warranty but I donât trust the dealer. I would rather deal with it for now or see if a non dodge Dealer will diagnose and fix
I am glad you got more people watching ur stuff . I enjoy the channel I used to have the r/t . I subscribed to your content like how tell people step by step how to do things take care.
From the looks of it, adding Freon is a temporary fix, and the actual fix is replacing the condenser?
I have a 2019 jeep grand Cherokee with 34,000 miles and it recently started doing it
Hey brother were you able to find a solution
@@rraymond4912
Went to the dealership. They couldn't find a leak. They added the refrigerant, and it's been running strong for 3 weeks. Paid dealership prices of course, which sucked. Luckily it was only that, instead of the $2000 minimum through the dealership for the condenser. Still forked over $500. Damn crooks.
I did check for leaks, which there wasnt. However, I wasn't able to verify the condenser behind the dash though. I rolled the dice and got lucky. Now my Camaro is blowing hot air now. Never ends.
Good day, any updates on whatâs the cause?
Not yet. I will get it diagnosed in the summer. But the weird thing is that is doesnât hiss at all when the heat is on, only when the AC is on
@@AlexsRTLife it happens in my car as well and in a few forums itâs mentioned that itâs because of bad expansion valve. And it could also be because of the refrigerant not being in liquid state while going inside the evaporator. If the refrigerator enters the evaporator in gaseous state, the whooshing sounds could basically be the from the gas passing through the metal tubing of the evaporator
No shit
Same did you fix it wat was it
Once diagnosed and fixed full video coming
Have you done the video
I fixed it thanks
How did you fix it??
