Thank you for showing this. My dad has a cub cadet with the kubota diesel that needs a new solenoid. I may have burnt up the first one but now know why. Very helpful, Thanks.
Thank you very much for the information
Wow bro thanks!!!
I was afraid I was going to set my engine on fire because of how hot it got!
You are awesome!
Glad I could help
That was very helpful. Just working on a Case MX135 tractor that has solenoid trouble and has to be manually clicked into run position after you have turned key on. I can trouble shoot now. Thank-you.
Brilliant timing. This is a huge help. Thanks
Thanks for sharing the knowledge keep it up Rob.
Thanks Buddy Appreciate explaining it better!

Thank you very much ❤️
Cool just about to do another p pump swap. Last one I had military shut off cable installed. This time I want to run a FSS
Thanks a lot!
Very nice
Boss thank you, you have helped me
No problem my man. Glad it helped you out
thanks i have a problem with my komastu,i have to pull the lever on the pump to turn engine off.i didn't know what the three wire did.
👍👍right on man 👍👊
There's a 3 wire module made by woodward that you can use so it won't burn up the solenoid
No reason with these if it wired right.
How about on a ve pump? I have a 86 chevy k30 with a 12 valve swap. How do I wire it in to the ignition?
There is a solenoid right behind the afc house that will have a stud and a blade connector on it. Put keyed 12v to that
Do you know where a can get the pin break down for the engine inline of the power distribution center on a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins and V-10??
Beat to find someone that has alldata or Shopkey they can print the wire diagrams for you
How does a 2 wire work
Same idea just hold and pull is the same wire. So it’s just on and off
I have watched many videos on solenoids, your video is very clear but I still wonder about wiring in my situation: I have an old boat with a Mercedes diesel engine, which has to be stopped by pulling a small lever. This is done through a cable but I would like to install a solenoid. I only need a transient pull after I put my engine in neutral, I don’t need a hold.
Would I be able to use a 3 wire solenoid and only use the white cable through a horn switch? So just pressing the switch would kill the engine, without using the red wire? Releasing the switch would put the lever back in its original position because it has an internal spring.
Thanks!
Yep that will work just fine for it.
@@CUTTERUPROBthanks so much! I hoped so but glad to see it confirmed by a Pro 😊
the ground wire is very important, use the the same gauge wire and make a good ground to battery is best.
100%. I have found most wiring issues to do a ground problem
When you say ground to battery are you saying literally run the wire to the negative post?
@@johnathonjsmith yes thats how did it on the cranes never had a problem
Is it still a full 12v to red wire to hold it open??
Yep
I wired mine using a ford starter solenoid for pull function and regular relay for hold function. Probably overkill but ill never over power it.
Starter signal activates starter solenoid for pull, then the regular relay thats key hot runs the hold function!
Starter activates
So the pull coil is only powered up during cranking?
Yes sir
