The music video alone has amassed over 50M Views and over 185M Streams on Spotify. It is A top 10 song in a dozen counties including UK and Australia and can’t forget a Grammy nominated song for Best African Performance, competing against Burna Boy, Davido, Asake and Ayra Starr. She is an industry plant but that’s not necessarily a bad thing the problem is lying that you’re not. No independent artists even with using TikTok stardom, funding their own music vid can reach that level of success so quick without the help of a big record label & a team of artist management

Never in a billion years would an artist get that many views on the first song. That song is also licensed under Epic records. She then has music for some Netflix series right after so now you tell me how does she go from a viral song to then having a song for a Netflix show. Lets then dive into how she was struggling to attain success in her singles after until Water was pumped using the record labels. Like not to be rude at all but what I’m saying is, Tyla has been performing and singing every chance she could get according to people from her high school, headmasters and teachers. She has a vocal range and she’s pretty. So she got traction from TikTok and did not give that up. She was consistant , she met people at parties, she got messages from producers , she worked and made good songs. Those songs leveraged her to having a fanbase in SA and SA having so much sway online other people not in SA found her . She was able to tour because she a TikTok content creator with a big following so brands invited her out like they do Emma chamberlain. Then water happens and she choices to make it up beat and put her dancing ability and chooses to make products mass amounts of people will like. When you work hard, and you’re so good at your craft you know what people want , you’ll succeed! It’s the same with many of the uni students I was with. Let this be a lesson to stay ready and work hard so you recieve any opportunity you want, crush the opportunity and leverage it to get on the next level.- that is the only secret tyla needed to succeed. Don’t let overconsumption stop you from seeing what actually attributed to her success
