I've been in a tunnel since episode one with Lieslot and Lancelot and i'm pretty happy to see Lance in the final x3
I can't write how many perfect places for a mol he was in but i've been watching him closely and he kept making the group lose money.
I'd love to see how the mole communicated with the puppet because that was pretty ballsy as mole.
What threw me the most in the Lancelot Lieslot tunnel was the bomb challenge when they chose not to take the jokers cuz i would imagine players would take them right away except lieslot who already had some repercussions from taking the option on the exemption at the first episode .

I finished this week’s episode a little faster than I normally do (so much English narration!) so it’s cool that your video was posted early as well! I am also excited for your finalist summary videos 🙂. I agree that things are a little more exciting this time, so I’m sure we will have some good discussions.
In this week’s episode, Lancelot looked the most suspicious to me, particularly in the first assignment. He messed up the tongue-twisters. He messed up the sentences at the saw task. He only went for one bag of money at the saw task. After the task was complete, he suggested that Ruben should be the one to sit up front with the driver for the next portion of the journey. This prevented Ruben from seeing the tongue twisters and bandit photos. Yes, I know that one of them was going to have to sit up front no matter what, but if I was the mole, I would want to get the other candidate away from the photos as soon as possible, so that they would need to rely on me for information about which tongue-twister to call out, etc. Again, at the dart board task, they only get one bag of money, but they are equally to blame for that, I think. Lancelot manages to call out his tongue-twister correctly and save the money. But if he is the mole, he knows that he will have another opportunity to get the bag stolen after they get back to the others. Speaking of that...if Lancelot is the mole, I am kind of surprised that they made it back to Toos and Commy with so much time left over to take the photo. If it were me, I would have let Ruben waste a little more time throwing the knives, at least until he hit a second envelope. A bag worth 400 euros is better than a photo worth 2000 euros, right? Anyway, they have plenty of time to get in place for the final photo. Lancelot seems to try to waste a little time right before the photo is taken (acting like he wasn’t comfortable saying HOWDY in English? Or something?). And then of course he messed up the tongue-twister and let the bandits take the money. One more question about this final photo: whose idea was it for Comfort to be the one sitting on top of the carriage? Why does the shortest person in the group always get chosen for things like this?! Give her a break!
The photo group did pretty well overall. I am calling them a group and not a duo, because the chicken with the cowboy hat counts as a group member (so cute! 💕). Comfort and Toos both did some weird stuff during the second photo. Comfort called out the time incorrectly, leading to them being 1 second too late. Toos spilled some of Comfort’s water to “see if the bucket was full enough.” He wasted time telling her how her left and right feet were supposed to be positioned, even though the feet of the person in the shower were not visible at all on the postcard. And, he has never made a pancake before in his life, obviously. But they still earned money with 2 out of the 3 photos.
The second assignment was interesting. Kudos to Ruben for having 🦗🦗🦗🦗inside his hat and not reacting to them AT ALL. Ideally, what the mole wants to do in this situation is either what Ruben did (be the worst at both tasks but then win both duels, so the money isn’t earned) OR perform well in the tasks so that they are not worth any money, and then lose a duel. The fact that neither Lancelot nor Comfort was able to get their gun to fire was...frustrating. They can’t both be the mole! For a second, I almost thought that Ruben was the mole and his gun was the only one that worked, lol! If Lancelot is the mole, he messed up by getting the second-worst score with the whisky glasses. He was worth 1000 euros, but he had no choice but to let Ruben win the duel because otherwise they would get 3000. Same for Comfort with the candles. Actually...now that I’m thinking of it...another way ensure the 3000 euros stayed out of the pot would be to make sure Ruben stayed out of the duels. Lancelot called Ruben out immediately, saying that he heard the stones in his boots moving when he stood up. I would not have done this. In fact, I would have liked to see the mole vote for Comfort along with Ruben in the first round to force a tie. I guess they were afraid to draw attention to themselves, since apparently it was really obvious that Ruben was lying. It wasn’t THAT obvious to me. I mean, he seemed nervous, but I wouldn’t have been 100% sure that he was lying. And with the candle task, I actually thought Toos could have been bluffing. The way he was acting reminded me of how he acted in episode 1 when he was lying to try to convince the group that Lieselot had won the exemption and not him. Apparently I’m really bad at detecting lies, lol.
I agree that Lancelot seemed a little too calm, but to me it was even more obvious after the task was over, when Ruben and Toos told Commy and Lancelot that there was a chance all 4 of them could go to the finale. Comfort seemed kind of shocked, and like her brain was trying to process the information, and Lancelot just calmly asked “which part of the target did you aim for?” or something like that. And then he asked “and the vrijstelling was the section next to the center, right?” It was like he already knew exactly how everything was set up, and he was prompting them to share the relevant information.
So...yeah. I guess Lancelot is my top pick at the moment? Even though my brain is screaming at me that the mole would never do any of the things that Lancelot did in episode 4. But I will save that explanation for the Lancelot video, I guess. Part of me still hopes that it is Toos because then this would be the second season in a row that my top suspect in episode 1 was the mole. And part of me wants it to be Comfort because it would just be super impressive how good her acting skills are. I don’t know at this point who I want to win. I still think Lieselot deserves the pot!

Oh, how I love having you in this comment section! I have to agree: that chicken was cute! 😄
I assumed that a lot of internationals would like that episode not only for the content but also for the fact that there was so much English in it 😄
Good point with the bag being worth "only" 400 € compared to the photo... it would really have been a better idea to let Ruben keep throwing knives. 🤔 Maybe - if Lancelot is the mole - he wanted to make sure that they would definitely lose all bags thanks to the bandits?
Yep, that definitely sounds again as if Lancelot knew something before everybody else did. That damn 4th episode is driving me crazy too. Maybe Lancelot is just like me - wanting to play Bingo so badly - that he gives up being in the zoo? But then again him ruining that tunnel task isn't the best Mole work... Actually, that fits to the mole diary we got to listen to in that episode. (Remember between task 1 and 2 the Mole said to Gilles that he had a hard time sabotaging because the groups feeling was so strong. Maybe it's Lancelot who failed task 1 who said that?)
Haha, maybe the winner shares with Lieselot? 😄

My brain ain't doing the thinking today. I'll probably have to keep it shorter this week. Random thoughts I had (keeping in mind that I...think...Lancelot is the mole, but I would absolutely love to be wrong):
    1. Comfort and Toos seem very confident at this point in their final mole. Toos for going all-in on episode 4, and Comfort for getting her test retake in the same episode to save herself.
    2. That being said, it's really ballsy (if both of them suspect Lancelot) to let him do his own thing with Ruben. I can't decide if it's stupid (it's hard to win the game if you don't, you know, know what the mole is up to in certain challenges) or brilliant (putting the mole on the same team as pseudo-mole Ruben is pretty funny; just sideline the pair so your team's odds of earning money drastically increases).
    3. I've enjoyed this season for the almost consistent challenges where it really doesn't matter what team the mole was on, because there's so many opportunities to sabotage regardless. I mean, yes, Lancelot and Ruben's team in challenge 1 was fully not profitable and had the opportunity to sabotage up to $6000 of the $8000 on offer, but still. The mole COULD be on either side and that makes it so much more fun to theorize about. I hate ruling people out because the mole would never, say, fly in a plane while the others haul a giant rubber duck up a hill.
    4. Did Toos really go all-in on Lancelot on episode 4? The episode where Lancelot helped earn $5000 at the bunker and then hung out with him to play bingo successfully? Hmm.
    5. Toos obviously trusted Ruben in the Speed challenge. That's not a fully ridiculous thing now, knowing Ruben is not the mole. Still. If Toos is suspicious of Lancelot, why would he trust Ruben over Comfort? Literally Thomas is like hey, Comfort says it's green so let's cut green. Thomas has the right idea. What led Toos to consider, no, Comfort is wrong and Ruben is right? Is it trust in Ruben? Or distrust in Comfort? Or both? Or sabotage because he's the mole?
    6. This is going offtrack. It does look mighty suspicious that Lancelot helped earn $2000 out of the $6000 he had responsibility over, while Comfort and Toos earned $3000 out of $4000.
    7. The second challenge is a bit harder to parse out. Does the mole want to stay in the game the longest? Helps you control the game a bit better. But if you get taken out of the game first you can keep $3000 from entering the pot. I would've said Ruben was the most suspicious, but...y'know. Toos being as good as he was though has to be somewhat suspicious. But both Lancelot and Comfort getting taken out while Ruben stayed in is also suspicious. Ah hell, they were all suspicious in this one. It oozed delightful mind game and I loved it.
    8. I really thought we were going to get a final four this year. Just the way it was agreed upon that they'd both go for it gave me hope. I should've known!
Can't wait for the upcoming videos! I've had a hard time this year, but I am slowly dipping my toe in the Lancelot tunnel. Maybe I can be convinced otherwise.

Well, Lancelot looked seriously suspicious this round, again. But it could still be Toos or Commy. All three of them have been a top suspect of mine at some point.
I do want to point out one big possible hint. When walking onto the film set at around the 5:30 mark, four actors are mentioned who've shot there: Leonardo di Caprio, Russell Crowe, Clint Eastwood and Sharon Stone, in that order. The four players are then introduced in this order: Ruben, Lancelot, Toos, and then Commy. This is done in such a way as to suggest that each famous actor is a "parallel" to one of our four candidates.
The interesting thing here is that Leo (Ruben) has played an undercover cop in "The Departed". Clint (Toos) has never played a villainous role, nor has he ever played an undercover agent to my knowledge, although he's played law enforcement or military characters throughout his career. ("Where Eagles Dare", "Dirty Harry" and sequels, "In the Line of Fire", "Heartbreak Ridge", "The Rookie", etc, etc...) Sharon Stone has played a serial killer ("Basic Instinct") as well as a secretly sociopathic wife who turns out to be a villain ("Total Recall"). Plenty of mole potential there.
But the really interesting parallel is Russell Crowe, who played the titular character in a film called "The Insider". This film is specifically about the character and journey of a mole within an organisation. And this is Lancelot's "parallel". Hmmmmmmmm...
(And now you see why the film task in Season 5 is the one I most wanted to play. And the one where I was shouting at my screen at the candidates for getting it wrong.)
Yeah, at this point I really think it has to be Lancelot. He and Ruben were the two who messed up the entire first challenge. He and Ruben were the only two who got their questions wrong in the diner. He and Ruben were on the disastrous stagecoach journey. And now Ruben is gone... so yeah. Toos and Commy's reactions throughout have been those of candidates, to my mind. And I think Thomas was the last person to suspect Toos of being the Mole. Possibly Ruben did as well, although I suspect he just made a few too many mistakes, as he himself suggested at the end. I barely suspected Lancelot until last week, so I feel pretty darn foolish. I'll feel more foolish if it turns out to be Toos or Commy...

I want to take off my imaginary hat for that superior film analysis. I'm impressed and it would be so cool if it turns out to be an official hidden hint! 😯

I was intrigued about the parallels as well. While I am not nearly as big a cinephile as you are, I do have...the power of the internet! But mostly I was drawn to the fact that out of the 4 actors mentioned, 3 are actually in the movie The Quick and the Dead, where the intro quote comes from this week. All 3 stills look like they come from that movie. The only one not? Clint Eastwood. His still comes from the movie The Outlaw Josey Wales. The biggest outlaw in the group? The mole???
(I distinctly remember that Season 5 challenge, mostly because Robin's anger had me rolling. I think it was mostly Davey you were yelling at XD)

@@thefuzzyoranges Oh lord... that sounds like it's a deliberate choice. Character-wise, I do think Toos fits better than Lancelot as well. It's just that his actions don't seem to fit as well. Uh oh...

I’m completely thrown this season, which is a huge kudos to the producers/editors this season, especially compared to WIDM. The imagery is just beautiful too, like it’s such a delight to watch this show.
The only person I’m ruling out is Comfort and that really is just due to the really human emotions I could feel coming out of my tv screen watching her red screen. If she acted that, I’m blown away and bravo picking a mole this year.
My episode 1 guy pick was Lancelot but I went down so many tunnels that I never visited him again.
For Toos, I’m not sure if they’d have the mole be in that duel in the first episode. Seems odd to either punish the most quick person by having them sit out the episode OR have the mole sit out the first episode.
So purely from a producer standpoint I’m going to bet Lance, but any of the 3 could be it and I’d be really excited to see what their mole behaviours were!

The good news is: so far, the majority seems to be insecure about the Mole this time. So we're not alone 😄
You just explained perfectly why I still have troubles seeing Comfort as the mole. Ugh, they all had their anti-mole-moments. It's kinda frustrating but also so exciting this time! 😩😄
I'm also looking forward to all the official mole actions and hints! I hope they tell us why there were so many movie references...
