- In this vlog I head to Lightwater Valley Theme Park in North Yorkshire to check out the parks 2020 offering. This year the park made the decision to keep 3 of their main rides closed, however I decided to head to the park to see how it was operating during summer 2020. This vlog features on ride POV's from all of the rides I experience including Eagle's Claw, Black Pearl and many other attractions located at Lightwater Valley. I also check out the new additions for this year, share a detailed look at the social distancing measures in place and much more!

What is the point in dodgems if you cant bump people, strange...
You dodge them? It's dodgems, not bumper cars. LOL
Dodgems a waste of time nowadays, years ago folk use to be able to impale an opposing dodgem now ya drive round in circles 😞if I wanted to do that i’d just find the nearest roundabout 🙄

@itzsykez ... The rides may look the same but they are not. Dodgems were made by different people to the people that made bumper cars. People took the idea of dodgems where you race round the track and and added some bumpers to make it safe to do so or smthn like that
I went on them last week and they didn’t say anything
I’ve been told many times it gets busy during summer holidays but my god lol never seen a queue like that to enter a theme park before !! Such a shame 3 of the major rides are closed due to social distancing

@@noahdron6 you could easily social distance on the ultimate and apolo but fair enough for raptor attack
@@themeparkkieran4573 You could social distance but if they did, they would have to pay for a staff to be bored and sit around with a tractor as it would not be heavy enough to make it to the final lift hill.
@@splendidbag4729 you could use water barrels like they do on test runs on every other row a bit like they did with 13
themepark kieran but not all people with the same. This would just be inefficient to the park as it would cost a lot to run the coaster
Big ups to Lightwater Valley for their communication, having enough operating staff and discounts!

LOL I went to flamingo land in July and it was hectic and half the park was closed;-;
The early 90’s were this parks heyday’s. The Rat ride, brand new Ultimate, soopa loopa. I remember lots of people having a soopa loopa car sticker back then.
Remember the backward facing seats at the back.
Was it the Devils drop which was the water ride in the lake?

looks like a great family day out, which given the current climate is a good choice. Glad they have lowered the prices too, it fairly reflects the rides that are closed. Looks like they have got the balance just about right. well done to the management!! enjoy your trip down in the west country, its certainly my favourite part of our beautiful country.

When I was on the dodgems here we actually had a nice ride operator we were bashing eachother constantly 🤣

Black pearl used to be at pleasure wood hills in the 90s and was known as tempest I think.
Well its good to see the park busy even know the big rides are closed.

YES SO GLAD YOU CAME HERE. My second (well technically third) home park. It’s such a shame some of the rides were closed. I really miss rides such as Black Widdows web (the Huss enterprise) and Whirlwind (the Mondial Topscan). Although Apollo is amazing, I don’t really like the Waltzers as I find them uncomfortable and I hit my head

Great video as always ☺️ This is my local theme park and it definitely holds a lot of great memories from trips there over the years 🎠 On the Vintage Car Ride, it looks like some of the theming (wooden bear statues) has been taken from the Grizzly Bear ride that was at the park years ago 🐻 It used to be one of my favourite coasters at the park (think it was where the Wild River Rapids ride is now) 🏝
Every time you have come here I watch and always think it looks great 👍 hope you enjoyed you’re trip and are you a poet and you didn’t know it 😂8:20 you where zooming on those dodgems. As always there has to be a caterpillar ride :)

I have to say this vlog made me kind of sad. Since I started going through your vlogs I always looked forward to Lightwater Valley because it seemed to be the one where the most of your friends got together and you all just seemed to have a different kind of fun than you did at other parks with the cart racing and even just silly things like rolling down a grass hill. Knowing The Ultimate is probably closed for good and since I don't see a vlog from 2021 or 2022, I hope as I continue through the vlogs that I find more vlogs like in the past with more of your friends that had that same feel to it. Dont get me wrong your vlogs by yourself and with Charlotte are great but there is just an extra amount of positive vibes to the vlogs when there's a whole group of you having fun and enjoying the day together. Hopefully I will see more of that after we get through this pandemic!

I last went back in 2018 and I got to ride the Twister and The ultimate on the back row and it was nuts!
Shame about the twister is gone as it was the UK's best spinner in my opinion but the park looks buisy so hopefully they will get enough to invest soon and the dodgems is on hire like apolo is aswell as the walzer:)

Question... What gopro do you use and can you recomend an affordable one? I had an amazing idea for a youtube channel with rollercoasters, and I'm just looking at options for ways to capture film and sound (on a rollercoaster).

I went the other day but when i wanted to go on the dodgems and the swings ride near the entrance I can’t remember what it was called they broke down before I got on

I’m unsure when I’ll next be visiting as we’re prioritising theme parks we’ve not yet visited in 2020!
They have toned those Walzers down. Last year they had 90s dance music pumping out and it was definitely faster.

Fun fact - the twister spinning coaster is open at whyndyke farm in blackpool until 31st august also them waltzers look shocking I could fall asleep on them

What was your thoughts on the classic devil's cascade and want have they done with the land around there I know at one point they had a ferris-wheel on there?

@@ThemeParkWorldwide I understand why they got rid of it I believe it was breaking down a lot but the iconic scene of the train going pass the water area where it dropped down and splash the track wish they had brought it back
Although it was said to have gone to Budapest, this is the mary rose from the bembom brothers white knuckle theme park (dreamland margate). I have no clue why it was relocated here but never recorded, or why nobody ever really knew where it went. Every detail on the ship is the same (the 8 sails each with a white cross on, the bars on the roof , the bar placement on the roof, every little detail is the same! Even the backdrop is identical, same shape and everything) This was my mum’s favourite ride. It’s truly amazing to see her still in use, even 30 or so years later. I can’t believe she’s still going. My mum cried a bit when i showed her this because she was distraught when it was taken away. We just wished we knew for sure what/why it was never known what happened to it. My mum’s other 2 favourite rides were the looping star and the ladybird, i think my mum still wishes she knew what happened to those.
Always used to go here as a kid
Some of the rides are different to what you get at any over theme park and the ladybug ride has got a great noise to it as well. The Black Pearl is a great ride.
There’s still a nice selection of rides here even with The Ultimate closed!
When I went on Thunderdome it was so fast and fun, shame they turned it down a notch or two.
I went hear last year with my school and it was the best time I have had with my friends

Great to see the park having some good covid measures, however it’s a shame to see several attractions closed.
Been there today and we had a great time we only went because off theme park worldwide review and thank you. This park is great value for money due it being only 14 pound each lol . The dodgems do let ya bump each other now but no head on bumping . We also went to Joe's coffee shop they sell all sorts off nice hot food its also taking part in the Monday to Wednesday half price eat out in August that most food places are taking part in .

Eagle's Claw was a huge mistake for me lol I wish I had the tolerance for flat rides that you do but a lot of them make me throw up. Oddly enough, I'm absolutely fine on boosters.

Btw have you ever been to gulivers world, a lot of families go there but you might be able to get yourself an extra few credits.

So many memories at Lightwater Valley over the years both as a kid myself and with my kids. Sad to see whats happened to it in 2021 with them totally closing all the big rides including The Ultimate, raptor Attack and eagles Claw. It’s aimed at kids under 12 now so a total non-option for those thrill seekers.
Is raptor attack and the ultimate closed for renovation the last time I went on the the ultimate was last year and i felt like I had been in a car crash lol keep up the good work shaun and tpw family you made lockdown go past quite fast while i was watching your channel thanks again and stay safe

This is my local park unfortunately, haven’t been for a few years as they keep removing rides and not replacing them with new ones. I think until they start adding more thrill rides or coasters I won’t be visiting again.
You don’t have to say ‘unfortunately’. It is still a great park!
Just my opinion that I don’t enjoy the park anymore. 🤷🏼♀️
Let’s hope they invest in something new soon!
Oi ! Oi ! Sean, saw you that that day next to eagles claw. The black pearl used to belong to Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in South Shields back on the early 90's.
