I always found this theme to be very emblematic of being at the apex of your long quest. There's something very remote, isolated and lonely about it - much like the temple itself - while also having an air of finality and conclusion of a journey to it.
This song makes me feel a lot of nameless things and puts a kind of painless weight upon my chest. It was always like this since I played it as a 12 year old kid. I'm 37 now. I never wanted the game to end, but this dungeon AND THIS SONG reminds us that life itself comes to an end.
I think the Spirit Temple was probably my favourite temple out of all Zelda games I've ever played, and the music definitely played a big part in making me love it so much
I've been sober for 8 years now, and since I started my spiritual quest for closeness to The Spirit that got me sober, I have been using this audio track for meditation. It has had a profound impact on my understanding of what it means to be at one with God.
Late nights in, alone with my cats, the moon high up in the sky, my spirit enjoying every moment of this masterpiece and of my solitude... these will be the best memories
This is still my favorite temple to this day in any Zelda game, I love the theme around it being a desert temple and the music fits it so well. I also loved the time hopping needing to switch between Young and Adult Link and the mirror shield puzzles were pretty fun as well and I love how the original mirror shield looked when you first got it on version 1.0
I read somewhere online a while back this music was link reflecting on his adventure up to that point and testing him spiritually to see if he was mentally ready to face ganon and save hyrule. Dont know if thats accurate, but i love to believe that.
This made me PB in my speedrun by a LOT. Just having this in the background for an hour and half was enough, I have been possessed by the spirit of the hookshotable nippies who manifested their greater conscience within my self.
Here where I live it's so hot in summer whenever I go inside any place I can hear this music in my mind 😂👌🏻🔝 By the way, BEST Zelda dungeon with the best dungeon music EVER Perfect final dungeon
Tears of the Kingdom is a great game. But. There's two areas which it could improve on for me and it's the music and the lack of clarity between what happened in breath of the wild up until the appearance of Zonai tech. But yeah. The music. Sailing the great sea in wind waker, running around Hyrule field in link between worlds or pretty much the entirety of ocarina of times sound track. Spirit temple in particular has something about it. It's maturity. Playing as both a child and adult here, knowing it's the last temple. I just wish they could capture a little more of the atmosphere of OOT and I genuinely believe it's the music that makes all the difference
BOTW and TOTK are in a pocket dimension with ALL timelines referenced. Its also why the RITO (who were original zoras evolved in WW) and the ACTUAL zoras live side by side.
I’ve been thinking about this exact thing today- how like minded we must be. TOTK is an AMAZING game but I do miss the atmosphere that OOT had. It was just…..special. The spirit temple will always be my favourite in terms of story, music and enemies. My fave boss too. This song always speaks to me in ways I can’t explain.…
i totally agree, when first playing i was super confused about the timeline, but now ive just given up trying to figure it out. and im currently going through the sand temple in totk and i play the spirit temple theme while playing.
@@deusvitae69 I get it, but the very fact most people would have to go to a CZcams comment section to find it out just proves my original point. I stand by what I said about the music though 😊
The ambient music when out in the field works beautifully both in TotK and BotW, but they forgot to make good temple themes. I can just about remember the wind temple flute tune (which gave me hope that not only classic temples were back, but also good temple music ... oh was I wrong) Also, TotK's story sucks as a whole. It doesn't even keep in continuity with BotW properly. The around 5 year gap (going by Mattison's age) shouldn't give Hateno a collective lobotomy and make everyone forget about Link. It's all a contrived mess. The twists are laughably bad and predictable (and you can spoil it for yourself if you, like me, decide to go after the Dragon's Tears (which in itself is a big spoiler...) first during my first playthrough) ... the villain is cartoonish and boring, just dumb nostalgia bait. Calamity Ganon sure wasn't that great as a villain either, but at least it felt like 'finishing the job I couldn't 100 years ago'. You felt something going into that castle, and the Dark Beast fight, sure, interactive cutscene, but it did something (and it getting weak points actually made sense...) Seriously, wtf happened during production there?! Everything feels so rushed and shallow. How do you screw up such a nice premise from BotW with such a rich universe so BADLY?! You could have explored the whole Calamity thing further. Maybe show what happened 10000 years ago, shenanigans happen so Ganon will return, yada yada yada. It's still fun to play as a sandbox game, the universe and the mechanics are still nice, but my God, it left me so bitter. It was just one huge flatline. To end on a high note and on the topic of music, the one thing TotK did really great was the descent down to Ganondorf, both in the prologue and leading up to the final boss. The atmosphere and the music NAILED it. It actually gave me hope that at least we'd get an epic bossfight, and then, we'd be off to undo the undoable, maybe by looking for the triforce, to find the ACTUAL villain of the story, because there had to be more to this, maybe even uncovering the identiy of the other dragons...haha, I know, silly me.
You focus on listening to the dilruba (the Sikh violin playing the main melody) for long enough and it becomes very hypnotic, you almost feel like you're going into a trance.
When the disgust itself falls off my skin and i take a solid look hmmm worth it thats healthy babies just taking some damage now means a very healthy future family and developed area from them - willly 0

Imagine doing a deathless run of OOT and you make it all the way to the spirit temple just to get sniped by the first two pots…
Big ol F and an o7
All that just to get zooted by the pots 💀
Mission Update: Destroy the controller
How much health did you have when you entered the temple?
I still remember watching the cutscene for the first time of the Spirit Temple.. oh no.. I am going to get killed.. that sucks.. 😂
Walking into this temple for the first time was....jarring.
😃
Lolololol

I love the atmosphere of this dungeon
Same it's my favorite dungeon in this game
Not gonna lie.... Heard this in my head when I visited the pyramids

My thoughts exactly.

Same here this dungeon is amazing
Agreed. Favorite zelda dungeon based on music alone. Forest temple a close second
@@solitudegaming honestly same, the forest temple and the spirit temple have the best environment and music out of the temples in OoT imo
Completely agree with what everyone is saying here.
In full agreement. Always sat in a trance for 10 minutes minimum to the music before moving through.
Link enters spirit temple:
Two random jars about to end this guys whole career: 🏺💨
the jars are part of music
Is it sad I literally heard the jars flying at me when I read this?
When Link broke the jars, the jars vowed to one day break Link

This music is good for meditation.
True, I'm a yoga type and a meditator.

The day i get to visit the Great Pyramid in Egypt, i'm gonna play this song.
Eeesh, i hope you never get to do that…. Not trying to be an asshole, its just that egypt is not a nice place to visit, it’s a nightmare
I had the overworld theme stuck in my head for the entire I time I visited Windsor Castle in England.

This should have been an open night temple, with a moon theme.
There is nothing like a desert at night.
From burning hot, to freezing cold. All that sand holds in temperature.
@@lilacocto9103Exactly lmao I was deployed in Saudi Arabia working night shift very cold 😂
This song reminds me back when King Tut was the Pharoah. Good Times.

Koji Kondo... thank you for composing such amazing music for such an amazing game.
Hands down the best piece of music in any Zelda game ever
🧘🏻 ☯️🔝
All of the music in this game, or this series for that matter is great, but this one really puts me in a zen like state.
It's good, but "hands down"? C'mon, it's clearly not. It's okay if you like it though.
I agree it's good and relaxing
The Requiem of Spirit, the Spirit Temple and the Music all give you a sense of finality and still gives me goosebumps.

I love this song
One ot the best dungeon of Zelda history, and this awesome theme.
best temple in the game hands down
can't tell whether it's a flute or an electric guitar, but it sounds badass
Saxophone, as labeled by midi files extracted

My favorite temple music.
Probably in my top 5 favorite temples in Zelda! Great bay definitely being 1st!!!
What Mind you need to have to make such a great Theme. Masterclass…
One of my favorite tracks in the whole game.
After beating this game I would legit go to this temple just for the music and fall asleep.
This was the most futuristic, most successful part of this game...Smooth & down to a science of reality
Boutta take the absolute fattest nap to this don’t mind me.
