Why I can't install custom ROM, whenever I tried the phone either bootlopped or went to fastboot mode.
I cant flash magisk because of enryption and icant also flash dfe .zip because of it i use micro sd for installing custom roms but if i decides to install example pixel launcher mod is i receiving error of storage is unmont

i have a poco f1 pe+ a11 encrypted device. found out about a12 yesterday and was about to flash when i found that ill have to format my data cuz encrypted. to circumvent this, i could use either migrate app or disable encryption in a11, flash the rom, flash dfe, and then encrypt the device using another encryption patch file.
am i correct or dumb?

If your device is encrypted + you have a pattern lock (you don't know the encryption key, because you never decrypted and encrypted again), which pin to enter in TWRP?
pattern lock can be entered in TWRP AFAIK..google

dfe has NOTHING to do with trwp being permanent

Great explanation. But I still have a doubt.
For example, let's say I'm on a custom ROM i.e. AEX or Evo-X, which decrypted initially. I don't want to flash any other ROM for next year. I want to stick to this ROM. But the ROM will continue to get updates.
My doubt is will there be any problem if I encrypt the ROM (by going to settings -> security -> encrypt phone) and then update the ROM via the inbuilt OTA updater of the ROM ??

I did the traditional method on my F1 which is running on Corvus OS (non rooted) and after clicking on encrypt phone the boot animation has been going on for almost 2 hours. Does it take more time?
If it is in boot loop situation, I might have to reset my phone right via TWRP? In which case is there any way to get my data?
does the rom support encryption? if not then you cant encrypt ..
try a force reboot into twrp and see if your data is still there ..if so adb pull it ..else reset in twrp
@@munchy_cool Thanks for replying. From what i know, the rom does support encryption. The boot animation has been going on for almost 12 hours now. It's obvious that something is wrong. All i can think about are data im gonna loose. I will try what you said.
@@munchy_cool I booted into TWRP and its asking for password to decrypt data and when i input my screen lock it's saying wrong password, failed to decrypt. I hit cancel and now everything is 0mb. Is there any work around?? I tried to reboot to system and obviously its not working. Is there any work around?

i accidentally flashed DFE file after updating Evox rom to latest version using OTG as my data was encrypted and i wasn't able to see the files in twrp, so after updating everything was working fine and i thought maybe flashing DFE in twrp will fix the encryption of the internal storage in twrp but after flashing it now my K20 pro is stuck in Evox bootloops, stuck on Evox logo on startup......
How should i proceed ? i can for now access the twrp tho , hope you'll reply at the earliest !

how do i prevent this from happening again though ? because when next time a new evox update pops up, i'll need to go back to twrp recovery again & i might face the same issue of data encryption...
next time i gotta flash by adding firmware, latest update package of evox & DFE as well with formatting data along ? All in one go process ?
In some devices like redmi note 7, we can't set screen lock if the device is decrypted.

My custom recovery is Orange Fox which it has an option for adding a password..and every time i boot in the recovery it will request the pass :)

Hey munchy, I'm using poco F1 beryllium, with neternels kernel, and miui 12 qejmixm. I am getting a failure with the safetynet, eval basic. I have magisk hide already, changed props to pocophone, and have universal safetynet fix flashed through magisk. Magisk and all safetynet shows failure but I'm able to run some apps
(Couldn't play fortnite🥺) by hiding magisk, still would somehow like to pass safetynet. Help ploxx.

i used to have android 10 lineageOS on my phone an i always set the alarm and turn the phone off overnight, knowing that it will turn back on in the morning and play the alarm for me to wake up. yesterday i installed android 11 lineageOS and it forced me (as far as i'm aware) to set an encryption PIN at the initial phone setup and now i can't turn the phone off overnight because in the morning it will never go past the encryption PIN prompt and will not play the alarm because of it... that's another reason to NOT have an encrypted device 😅

If it is possible to access external sd card without password...then encryption has no use in phones with external sd slot.
