For the past year, Sandra (Sandra Hüller), a German writer, her French husband Samuel (Samuel Theis), and their eleven-year-old son Daniel (Milo Machado Graner) have lived a secluded life in a remote town in the French Alps. When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question whether he committed suicide or was killed. Samuel’s death is treated as suspicious, and Sandra becomes the main suspect. Little by little the trial becomes not just an investigation of the circumstances of Samuel’s death, but an unsettling psychological journey into the depths of Sandra and Samuel’s conflicted relationship.

O era Samuel quien odiaba que su esposa sea más exitosa que él. En la escena de la pelea ella está al inicio tranquila, pero es él quien provoca la discusión quejándose constantemente. Es él quien empeza a agredirla verbalmente.

eso explica un poco mas la pelicula . sin duda , Samuel se suicidi. pero esto la incriminaba ya que lo incitó a cometer ese acto
Exactly!!!
Pero es Samuel quien propicia la pelea. Ella solo está tratando de pasar un buen rato con él,bebiendo vino y él solo se queja y la provoca. Creo que él es más tóxico que ella xq propicia peleas para grabarlas y no soporta que su esposa tenga más éxito que él. Es un adulto y si no logra sus metas es responsabilidad suya no de su esposa.

This deleted scene makes me think that he was right at the end in the car with his son! Sandra treated him poorly! Does the fight, the fact they can't stand each other as a couple justify all that anger? And telling him he is mediocre and that he needs to die? Sandra's character has a sickness to it as well!!

But then again, didn't she also resent him for Daniel's accident, for him accusing her of not caring for their son, for him not meeting her emotional needs even though she was also coping and then making her feel bad for coping even though he let it happen, for him lowkey blaming her for his failure as a writer without taking accountability for his own failure? The emotional abuse she gave him was more pointed, but the emotional abuse he gave her was passive. Either way, they were a toxic couple breaking each other down. They're bad for each other. They're why divorce exists.
I'm still convinced he didn't commit suicide nor did she murder him. My theory is that he slipped on the dog's toy ball.
Al inicio de la pelea Sandra está tranquila tratando de pasar un momento agradable con su marido pero es él quien provoca la pelea y constantemente trata de irritar a su esposa. Incluso es Samuel quien empieza a agredirla verbalmente. Después sabemos que él era tan retorcido que provocaba las peleas para poder grabarlas jugando con las emociones de su esposa.
if you watch the entire scene she was fairly calm at the exchange at first and then he provokes her and pushes her until she just lays him her thoughts and explodes. she tried to be graceful. he reaped what he sowed.
