A few words from a fellow ebike rider who completely disregarded their budget and spent several thousand on their first ebike late last year.
Good video, great to see people out riding, enjoying themselves and having fun.
Don't shoot me, just saying how it is. I did see a few disturbing things. Riders generally not following the rules of the road and giving us all a bad name such as:
-not stopping for stop signs
-blowing through red lights
-riding in crosswalks and on sidewalks
-sustained wheelies in traffic
Police up to now for the most part have turned a blind eye toward the gray area of ebike activity
I'm all for having fun, but following the rules of the road is mandatory for everyone on a public street and not following these rules is precisely the reason why the government is starting to come down hard on us. Outright electric bans are already happening and the most likely outcome at a minimum is mandatory registration and insurance, coming soon to a town near you. The government likes to legislate the hell out of anything that becomes popular.
Please people, be safe. Road rash is painful as hell and not a good look. Wear protective gear EVERY time and at a minimum, an ECE rated helmet, even if you're just travelling a block. A helmet is not always convenient or comfortable to wear, but what's not cool is laying in bed in a vegetative state wearing a soiled diaper, never again being able to experience a walk in the park on a hot day feeling the cool grass against your bare feet, never again having sex, never again feeling the breeze and sunlight on your face as you ride down the road.
Not a Buzz Kill but a reality check… Yes we were out there having a good time… No one hurt No accidents… No run ins with the law… Not trying to justify the negative concerns… We actually got thumbs up and waves from law enforcement…

Waiting for my 65ah PL battery to built. Excited. Just picked up a 20amp charger off of Amazon the other day and it pulls 19.3amps on regular 110 but can be used for EV charging as well. Had my friend swap over my charge connections and other chargers to XT60 for it. (Onyx RCR)

@@mr.e_from_nyc I currently have a 55ah chi one. But want more range. Got the 20amp charger already. Getting that variable charger from PL up to 12amps. Currently have an alienrides variable charger to 10 amps. XT60 should be the standard for charging these at least not XLR lol.

Yessir they are real… I’m using Michelin City Grip 2 and I love them… 💯🙌💪 Changed the feel of the ride… but know I used the stock wheels for over 3K miles before upgrading… 🫶 Gotta love ONYX MOTORBIKES 💪 For those thinking of getting the RCR I highly recommend it despite the shipping delays… during COVID I cancelled my order because of the delays and truly regret that… Good things come to those who wait…

looks brisk and still a great group ride! its going to warm up this week thankfully. What are your thoughts on all these new ebike laws now banning ebikes in many states like Florida and California? NY is passing a few new ebike laws this march too but can only find information on it being under ebike battery manufacturing laws and certifications UI. But states tend to hide things and add addition laws under a specific category. I dont think it will stop ebikers in FL and CA just dont let them catch you $400 fine and confiscating bikes.

I read into the Florida ban a bit more and they are wanting laws to ban under 16years to operate ebikes. Still nothing official on state gov sites. Temping to get out and ride. Im 3hrs up north no rain and sunny here.@@mr.e_from_nyc

great idea for a meet up, but the morons ruined it for any kind of organized run and turned it into more of a wheelie take over.
It was an amazing group ride which was put together in a couple days notice… the kids doing wheelies were very cautious… no accidents… no one hurt… good times… 🙌💯💪
your posting of this stuff does not help the cause. These are not ebike riders, they are unlicensed, uninsured motorcycles taking over the roads of America.
