  • This video shows you how to swap your Odyssey Argos lever espresso machine from spring to direct configurations as well as how to switch between springs. Our patent pending design makes this the only machine on the market that can be used as both a spring and direct lever.

The ability to swap between sprung and direct, as well as the ability to completely remove the steam wand is awesome. This is the machine I didn’t realise I was looking for .. looks like a perfect addition to my bar alongside an e61 machine.

Awesome! These videos are so clear and explained well. I'll switch over to direct lever this evening and play with that for a few days. Thanks! 👍☕👍

Hi! I am a coffee starter from Korea who is interested in Argos. I am leaving a message to you so it may help Argos to be more user friendly. Would you consider placing a Boo ey in the boiler for the sake of convenience? lamarzocco places red Boo ey to indicate drip tray to be drained when it the tray is full. you would still need to find out which plastic material to use such that it would withstand the heat and pressure.

Thanks for the suggestion! Can you please email a photo of the indicator that you're referencing so we may dig into this idea further? Many people do not like having plastic in their boiler which can make this difficult to achieve.

Can you maybe write in the description de foodsafe grease type you use in case we have to purchase more of it ?

Is it possible to order two different assembled arms? One for spring and one for direct lever? Makes things a lot easier for me. Thank you.

Sure can! We have that listed on the site as the "Argos Piston Assembly" which will ship in the direct configuration.

Great machine. What material is used for the o-rings? Does it have PFAs or BPAs?

We list all materials under FAQ on our website but most are Nitrile (NBR)

Just ordered my 8 bar! So excited. I currently have a 1978 bezzera family lever. What is the difference from the direct and spring?

I just posted a video on pulling a shot in the direct configuration where users have complete control over pressure while trading off repeatability
