I always thought all YT'ers hated Black Desert. Now it's like once I watch new new vid about someone returning, all YT'ers start to return and post vids, wtf?
People just band wagon, including content creators. "Black desert is p2w?! better quit!", "Oh it's not actually p2w? I'll come back". That's what's happening right now.
I've been playing almost constantly.. you can even see in the video furniture and items from past events each. I've seen a large influx and BDO doesn't have a lot of video information out there so I decided I'd put some more current stuff out for new players. But I guess you can just generalize

hey fevir just wanted to say i love the fame system for what it did for me. I left the game shortly after the mewah (think thats how you spell it) was released and came back about 3 weeks ago and found a letter in my inbox with 78m silver. The Fame system is a great catch up mechanic that doesn't infringe (game breaking) too much on the player base. With that much silver i was able to buy so much gear that in the past i just didnt have access to. Thanks again for putting this video out there.
Wish this game was more accessible hardware wise. I'm playing most current games a 60 frames plus but no matter what settings I use on this game I stay at 25 frames or below
your friendly neighborhood lvl 9 technician yet BDO optimization has been know as one of its biggest flaws. I'm not saying my pc is amazing but it can run mostly everything else fine.

I find that switching from full screen back to windowed full (or vice versa) would fix my fps issues. Bit odd but it works for me.
try different resolutions like as low as 720p. see if fps changes. I had a similar issue and found out that my monitor was only 30fps in 1080p but 60fps in 720. so I had to get a new monitor, needed a new one anyways though

Speaking of a happy surprise. Had one Lvl 35 ranger and 1 lvl 15 mage before I quite the game for 1 year and I started playing again today to find 100m in my mailbox.
Black Desert is a game everyone should be trying out at very least. It's such a good game. I really think it's the pinnacle of MMORPGs, because it feels like a game that combined everything anyone has learnt from all past MMOs from what's worked and whats failed.
Always Leave min 2 House fame unclaimed. You never know when you will need a Emergency Repair or horse recover. This is vary helpful.
I got 81 million silver when i bought the game 2 weeks ago and I thought it was a mistake xD This system is awesome. I only played 7 day trial when the game launched.
More than that, I had a lvl 25 sorc, I quit playing a week after launch. Came back a week ago from now (beginning of april 2018) and had over 170 mil.

Lots of players came back to BDO. The game has been very casual friendly the last 6months, leveling is sooo much easier, there are daily events, daily 100% EXP bonus, more contents, the game is alot fun now.
The secret to enjoy BDO is to NOT rush, or else you'll burn out so quick, there are alot of stuffs to do other than grinding.

It was pretty great coming back to BDO and seeing the game gave me triple the amount of money I had across all characters just from the Fame bonus. Really sucks it doesn't take Skilled into account though, as I felt like I put a shitload of time into trading and only got it to Skilled 7? I think.
when i came back i found 25mil in mailbox didnt know from where then i notiec i started getting daily 250k. this fame thing is really good.

Just went back to BDO last week and received 48M thanks to that and now receive 250k every day, which is fantastic.

Came back after a year, 100m in mail, only had two level 20s.
What you have missed out is that the currency you make during levelling alts. i have a fair few 56 alts now and each one ive made atleast 10m just levelling them, thats with powerlevelling over a period of 2-4 hours (depending on what time I started eg peak times and such). yes, you may not be making the average 5m per hour but you arent losing as much as you are making out.
Really wanna get into this game, although I've got GCSEs (final exams) in four weeks :/

At first I was really, really sceptical about how this could be perceived as a good thing, as large quantities of free money for every player would absolutely ruin the economy, kill it, bring it back to life, then ruin and kill it a second time. I hit 56 for the first time a few days ago. Levelling is pretty damn slow, I cannot imagine playing without the Olvia bonus. I've got the feeling that I'll end up playing this game every other month, so the fame system will be quite nice for me.
At what level/gearscore can I leave for the eastern continent? Sausans, Elrics, Rogues, Manes, they all die easily, but once I go past Altinova shit gets dangerous real quick, and I don't wanna lose a single percent of my exp at the rate it takes me to get it.
Depends on your class and AP. Generally the easy stuff that you're already fighting is the stuff you chill and kill.. and most of the Valencia stuff is if you want to play as an outlaw or are targetting specific items because their availability on the market doesn't exist
Playing a Musa, roughly 130AP and 170DP. I just really wanna explore the world as I did in the level 0-50.
Valencia requires at least 160ap 220dp ull find it hard before that. and there is a new continent coming soon also (Kamalsive, where the DK comes from) it is expected the requirements for this are 210+ AP 260dp minimums. so quite a way to go yet. stick to farming sausy or other media regions. and don't forget gathering (shards sell for a lot even if ur not going to enchant with them).
I've tried, I just cant get into BDO =/. But dude I was so sad that Asheron's Call closed, I was actually online when it shut down, sad stuff. Have you checked out Albion?

I really like the fame system. The only problem I had with it is, that I only got 12M Silver via Mail, and 2 friends of mine got 80M... One of them literally only played BDO for 5 days on release, and I played it several months before I first quit the game... It really sucks.
Did your friend make alts and levelled them to 50? It's pretty easy to get a few characters to 50 in a few hours if you know what you're doing.

What's the endgame like in this game? What kind of goals can you make?
most Goals are, find a decent guild and PvP, otherwise u can sent goals for money, lvling professions, high max LVL (61+) there is no end point. just slow down when u get tired of the same stuff. catch back up when u feel like playing again.. gear wise get full TRI gear will allow u to do most things however the longer the game goes on for the more people are achieving TET status
if the market place did not have fixed prices or if trading was not restricted this would cause massive inflation makling it basically worthless

Kavien S so I'm glad that the market place has fixed prices and that trading is slightly restricted. (Well not really slightly but not completely). I mean it comes with its trade offs but the benefits are also decent and I appreciate the way it's set up because of that and the stuff I mentioned.
More like you'd see over pricing on gear. Seeing a clean kzarka weapon going for 1 bil would make me cry.

its not too hard to get hold of a costume for ingame silver. but I agree with ur comment regardless. char's appearance is lacking outside of the cash shop (even then u end up looking the same for a long time)

It's DUMB. I've always spent 90% of my time Lifeskilling (4000 hours) which is only at a score of 200! ...the thing I do the most, is worth only a quarter of the score I get for Combat & Contrib (850 combined) which I only put 500 hours into

also +fevir i dont agree that grinding fame doesnt make sense. it very much does make sense. IF you can afford at least +15 main and offhand for your alt, because while you are grinding those levels. you will continue to make massive amounts of money. i level a level 1 alt ranger to level 54 yesterday in about 2 hours with my pri, duo etc gear (~400ap/dp) and i made about 19 million off of drops. idk what you are talking about. its a great way to have fun in the game. you c an even make races out of it with your guild mates.
If the goal is enjoyment or leveling alts, trying playstyles etc.. then knock yourself out. I even said that this is a great goal to make for the sake of making a goal- but if your concern is strictly silver making- you could be using that time better.
Fevir I guess I misunderstood you. I personally am getting all classes to 56 right now (3 more to go) but I will admit it's more to try out all of the awakebings and I already had most of them 55 from before I quit right after mediah release

So, summarized: I don't have to play the game longer than just logging in for the daily stuff take the money and items and logging out! The endless and senseless grind I quit before a long time already, because it's boring and I see no good point in it so and now.. I don't even have to do these tons of Afk activities just to be online I get some money for free, cool!

If you don't allow yourself to have fun, you will never have fun. If you don't like the game, cool. Just saying, it is very much different now to what it was at release. Definitely worth trying again.
There's more to this game than just grinding.
I'm up to date with everything and still logging in from time to time (today as well) but it can't hold me for long anymore even if I would like to and I try/tried, because the game overall looks and feels gameplay wise the best today. But I'm finally honest with myself "how"/what the game overall is. I played about 3 month ago "seriously" actively and my main character (from 5 others on 56+) is lv 59 with about 60% and I can say I'm still kinda well geared, about 80% is TRI kzarka/dande TRI and ogre Di and almost all boss items except muskans. But there is nothing in this game which I'm interested in to do for ever. All other "secondary" activities in this game you can do beside Pve (grind and waiting for world bosses) are like afk fishing, workers etc., afk digging, Afk horse/character stat leveling or what ever and this was never my thing and how I want to play mainly and for ever(but you have to, if you don't want to do THIS Pve/anymore=because you only grind for exp, it's always for exp the money income is incidental)! And I'm normally a hardcore grinder.. IF(!) I'm able to drop rare items on my way, which are useful like BIS items (not only accessorys from 1-2 specific monster at a certain place) to get higher/better geared without to be bound to spawn times from world bosses on specific, inhuman times to finally try my luck to get the most important stuff like weapons etc. for myself or for money income! PvP... usally.. I do love it, but only if it's competitive with a 1v1 arena or something where no one can use potions and where the gear has 0% impact, but BDO can not offer me anything of it.. only these pointless boring nodewars massacres etc. or these casual fights with randoms where everyone is running away and taking infinity potions and coming back. Same with the red battlefield! And finally PvE..: Pve is a true pointless grindfest (which everyone see as a torture later on and don't connect with fun) and without capable multiplayer, you simply do everything alone (you can grind with friends but it always feels unnecessary and pointless, because no communication is needed in terms of pve/or any other content) Usually, communication is mostly needed for intense boss fights or something with groups, whether with real life friends or guldies/randoms but there is nothing. It is and it will be for ever, even if you reached 61+ and have mostly every BIS on PEN, it will be always a Solo endless Real Life simulator with a boring grind, which has the main purpose= endless exp. But there is nothing good worth it for later on. A true Solo-Loop-Online-Rpg. If you have/call it fun with all these activities I mentioned.. then.. lucky you. But I can't play a game which you play Solo and which feels like an true Offline rpg/game and putting that much effort and work in everything just to get forward..alone. That's what I call not fun.

Like 50 mil is that much, if you play for 2 days and grind some xp you make pretty much the same without much effort. And that's without other passive income from workers.

No... just real life time. Even if you spend a lot of money you just cannot bypass the time requirement.. and getting the best stuff in the game is not even realistic for people who play 24 hours a day and spend infinite money

Inflation must be pretty bad in this game
Surprisingly not. I left over 8 months ago and when I came back items were all the same price. It's not so much inflation as newer, better items innately have higher costs. A Mark of Shadow (DPS Ring) 8 months ago was around 9 million silver, today it's still around 9 million server. This applies to everything, the price the item was originally is roughly the same as it is now.
The thing is that newer items, like +16 and up (Like Tri kzarka weapons and awakening weapons) are insanely expensive. Back when I played an ogre ring (DPS necklace) was absolute top tier and went for around 100 mil, now a tri kzarka is around 500 mil. A tet is around 1 billion.
So I don't know if you'd call that inflation, but the market overall hasn't increased, only new items are more expensive.

its not pay to win tho, unless you spend $1000 a week its faster to earn money in game
Think I saw someone on reddit debunking it with the fact that to get the best gear in the game you would have to spend 100 euro a week for 2 years to be able be "pay2win" Most of the google results you got was probably the overreactions from people and youtubers from around 9 months ago, before the 5 pearl item on the marketplace a week was implemented:)

sieges/nodewars and world pvp are not rly boring. can be frustrating at times. but name an MMO that has significantly better systems >.>

As an example the old game "C9" has exactly this system + beside Black Desert it has still one of the best action combat systems which needs a lot of skill to master and if you are mainly pvp focused, then.. this game would be even more fun than BDO still in 2017
