The Pro Controller uses a 3DS Battery and it’s extremely easy to replace.

The iPod Touch 2G was my first iPod, I had the same issue with the display in my case putting it in DFU mode and restoring worked, NOT recovery mode as I believe my issue was to do with the iBoot firmware
Unfortunately, a restore from DFU mode didn't make a difference.
@@MichaelMJD Bit late, but my 2nd gen occasionally does something similar? usually I leave it plugged in over night and by the morning it's fully working
Im very interested into old apps. And I saw the old CZcams Capture App and would like to ask whether you could crack and/or upload the .ipa from the App.

I remember updating the firmware of an iPod Shuffle a couple of years back. Had to run a virtual machine in Windows 7 just to do it thru iTunes haha.

Maybe the iPod touch 2 has lcd damage. I have an iPod touch 4 that has that white screen, and it’s screen has a part of the glass (and most likely lcd) broken off. Sound, and voice control work

I actually still use a 2nd generation iPod touch that I remember originally buying new in January of 2009 and I even still use it today for listening to downloaded music while I'm working mowing yards. It even works fine with new bluetooth headsets. Other than that, I also have an original 1st generation iPod touch from 2007 still on iPhone OS 1.1.5. Apparently, thats what I found on eBay and it seems like the original owner never did opt to update it to iPhone OS 2 at the time, so it stayed on iPhone OS 1. Both still work fine.

The ipod touch was so far ahead of its time. I'm not an apple fanboy but when the 2nd gen came out I just had to have it. That thing went everywhere with me from early 2009 to late 2011 when I got my first android phone. Never went back to apple since then.

I had an iPod 4th gen, I got it for my birthday in 2011, still remember that and I think I lost it sometime in 2015.
Look at this absolute unit!
The white screen issue on the 2nd gen touch can sometimes be fixed by restoring iOS through iTunes. It happened to me after a screen replacement and got it back like that.
you're shocked at flappy bird but i am more shocked that Bike Race is in there... i played the fuck out of that on my family's android tablet
If you want to avoid having to replace parts on the 2nd gen touch have you considered getting an AV out lead just to see what’s on the device so you can connect it to an external display?
The second gen touch was my intro into the world of Apple. I got given it because it was on sale and I loved it the whole time I had it.

Sell the iPod with flappy bird then get another 4th gen iPod and look up iOS 7.1.2 because you can run it since it has an a4 like the iphone 4 has and the iPod. Would be interesting to see it run iOS 7

I totally forgot that they used to charge for iPhone OS updates on the iPod Touch 😂 Nowadays with all the server-side subscription software, there are companies that charge money *not* to update

As someone who used an iPod Touch 4th gen as my first iDevice, seeing it hit me with an intense wave of nostalgia.
My first idevice was a 32gb iPhone 4. It didn’t have phone service for a while though.
I recently bought a iPod lot 31 iPods for €50!
But almost all of them have a problem and 1 of them (a iPod touch 4) has pretty much the same problem as the second gen from the video

Anyone notice the 3 hours of filming for a 15 minute video? That's not taking into account editing which guaranteed took more than 3 hours. Next time someone says "Oh being a CZcamsr is easy, just put a 15 minute video online every day and you can be RiCh!" show them this.

I remember a friend of mine had the iPod touch 5th gen and he use to chuck the thing across the classroom in it's rubber case. Sometimes it was because he was mad other times it was because he felt like it.

Apple still sells brand new 30-pin to Composite AV cables on their website (an aftermarket HDMI cable would probably be cheaper) but it would be good to try and connect the 2nd gen iPod up, and if you didn't factory reset it you might've found something interesting on it.

I once bought a 2nd gen iPod Touch and a pair of headphones for $10. It was listed as broken as the 3.5mm jack barely working and the headphones are good and from known brand locally which costs more than I paid when brand new
Took it home and simply cleaned the inside of the jack with alcohol and it worked flawlessly. Restored the back cover with metal polish and it's as good as new. Kinda feel bad for the guy who sold it that I almost return it, ALMOST.. 😂

The ipod touch 4 can apparently go to 7, there’s people who have done it but alot of things are broken and your ipod will crash after a good 20 mins.

I have an original iPod from 2001 that I bought at a garage sale. It works great! The only thing is I need to find a Mac old enough that runs FireWire to reset it. I have a FireWire adapter but it quit working when I used it because my iPod was too powerful to connect to my 2020 MacBook Pro. I just got a find an iMac G3 or some thing that still works and is still around me. Where I am, it is very unlikely I will find one anywhere. For the places that do have them, I would have to pay $500 bucks for an eBay, and then another $300 bucks to have it shipped by freight.

@@parlinmains Because the iPod has a lot of battery in it and it’s so old, the adapter can’t handle that much power. Also, the other reason it doesn’t work is because I only got it for five bucks on Amazon.
2 out of 3? Not bad - I picked up an iPod clone today at a local garage sale and got 0 out of 1 working. It charged up super quickly, then immediately shut off after disconnecting. After examining the insides, the battery had expanded, so was of no use. So the iPod Clone is sitting there waiting for a new battery - I will probably just sell it on as for spares. At least I got a 32GB microSD card full of music for my purchase price of £1. :D

You would know if the iPhone running iOS 6 and below was locked if it had a locked icon on the top bar. This was something removed in iOS 7 and then placed back in the recent major updates of iOS.

Oh man, I had a 4th gen, 32gb iPod touch and I rather miss it... It was the first "big ticket" item I ever purchased.

IOS upgrade were not free on the first (and maybe second) iPod touch, but you could download the firmware on a third party website and set the iPod touch to DFU and it would update without asking you to pay.
I actually wonder if Apple still care about that, maybe it's 100% free now (just like Mac OS Lion/Montain Lion were not free, but have been made free this year)

I've got an iPhone 3gs from my friend, and its still works until i took a facctory reset, because the baseband chip is faulty so a couldn't activate the phone.
A few days later I when I try to charge my iphone up i got the same issue, White Screen of death, after that I took it part and I saw the water damage indicator was red, so this is the reason why the motherboard is faulty :/
