Just saying to anyone who doesn't like Vanille.... if you were stuck as a crystal for 100 of years... you'd be happy to wake up too... some of you are just too negative...so sad. =/
The worst part is, in this paradox ending, her succumbing to her fear was actually what the falcie wanted her to do. Her leaving Fang was the fuel to turn her into Ragnarok and technically Serah and Vanille were still able to meet like in the original timeline - albeit in a paradox fashion. This is why Vanille becomes a crystal and NOT a Cieth.
In much much simpler words, someone took the statues and moved them inside the temple, perhaps to honor them like Sanctum did to Dahj. You never wondered how come Vanille and Fang where placed in such a tidy formation at the top of two pillars in the Vestige? Now you know.
"All roads are connected somehow. (everything in XIII & XIII-2 was meant to result with Chaos) And they all lead to a time of salvation, where imprisoned souls will be freed. (Salvation. noun. Preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss. AKA Lightning becoming an epitaph(imprisoned soul), "freed" at the last 13 days until Armageddon.) They all lead to the end of the world, and a new beginning (this eludes to what Lightning needs to accomplish by the end of "Lightning Returns: FFXIII.")
I was so sad during the scene with Vanille and Fang in Serah's dream New Bodhum. That scene is proof that they haven't been glossed over! I missed them in this game also. :/
lolwut? She's got more character development and dimension than like 95% of all video game characters. Maybe you're just too simple minded to understand complex characters?
@UdtheImp From what I got from playing this was that this was WAY before FFXIII. I remember in XIII that it was either Fang or Vanille that said that they didn't know how they got to the Vestige. Later on we learn in XIII that the Fal'cie was responsible for putting everything in the Vestige, in Cocoon.
Read the frigging fragment data. It's pretty obvious from Vanille's own confessions in FFXIII that she ran away and didn't fight in the war and Fang was near Cocoon and turning into Ragnarok (she's the one that made the big hole on the side of Cocoon). The fragment data spells it out for you, when they turned into crystal by Etro's will remaining people from the village entombed both Vanille and Fang inside Anima's temple which is where they awaken at the start of the first game.
@aar444 No. Barthandelus moved both Vanille's and Fang's crystals into Cocoon by bringing them to the Pulse Vestige. So basically, that Fal'Cie (who looks like King of Cosmos from Katamari Damacy) turned into his human form and moved them to the Pulse Vestige, then moved the Pulse Vestige to Cocoon (Dysley is pretty old after all, since when Fang and Vanille became uncrystallized Dahj then became a L'Cie).
@@dankdilly yes i made a drink that inspired from Vanille, the indrigents is orange juice and sweet sugar (if only i go to shopping i will add honey and vanille).
No, this is the past, if you look at the end of the vid you can see Cocoon floating without the crystal pillar present, this is an educated guess however since this is never "truly" said in game. So it could very well be a different timeline all together.
LOL I'm just guessing since Serah was absent in FFXIII, she is main character of FFXIII-2, Fang and Vanille are absent in FFXIII-2, they could be main characters of FFXIII-3
its 500 years after 13-2, and Lumina is the girl that looks similar to serah, shes going to be a help yet a hindrance to lightning. serah is said to be saving everything in another place in Lightning Returns. Noel is there and the chaos has made him kinda crazy. Caius is still alive and Im pretty sure hes up to no good with that ending.
@ProdigiousACE really!?! Oh dear god, yes please..*_* well, the latest thing I know, is that the game-director Motomu Toriyama said that there won't be Final Fantasy 13-3 and that the end is just referring to the DLC. But thank you very much for telling me that I was wrong...seriously made my day..
Well that would seem probable seeing as there's a Valhalla gate as pretty much the final one you unlock for the storyline which seems to have no purpose when you've defeated the final boss trio
go to final fantasy wikia and read about FF XIII-2 :) "It might seem that the line 'To Be Continued…' means that Lightning’s chapter will continue in more download content, but we are doing it in a different interpretation."
Annnnnnd she never brought her back to Vanille hahaha. Pretty awesome. Square should have made at least one more paradox ending so the history could be connected with FF XIII. The novels can give you more info but there is something missing: where is the person who Vanille is looking for to apologize for until they meet in FF XIII again?
I really hope they don't forget or create a nonsense end to all chars that made history in these two first games (Noel, Serah, Caius, Yeul, Sazh, Vanille, Fang, Hope, Snow...) The fact that Lightning is the only playable char in "Lightning Returns" worries me a bit.
According to SE, Vanille is going to be part of the Salvation Council, a bad guy group of murderers, I wonder if that means Vanille will be evil? In trailers Fang didn't seem to be bothered about finding her, being a leader of thieves and all, so maybe Vanille has turned to the dark side? Can't imagine an evil vanille, but I also can't believe we have to wait till 2014! Grrr!
at the verry begining of this video there is a character with one angel wing and one boned wing I think its from a videogame on gamecube but I can't remember the name of it can you tell me please?
Could be, and there's a chance for Snow to, due to Serah dying and all. All I see for XIII-3 is the minimal Time Traveling and the appearance of Goddess Etro along with with the Maker, who's a fal'Cie
Yeah I saw that, that's pretty exciting. I remember I wasn't to on board with FFXIII2 only having 2 characters but they had such a great bond i turned out amazing so Lightning being solo will be interesting. Maybe more like Dirge of Cerberus or Crisis Core but I'm still happy to see Light's story continue.
She may come back but LR is set 100's of years after 13-2 and from the trailers I've seen theres a strange serah look-a-like that apparently isnt serah... and Noel's there. Does it mean its his timeline? Maybe we'll meet a Cais that didn't have to become all world destroying and ended up working in a library or something... wont know a bloody thing til it comes out I guess.
@aar444 @aar444 As for what happened in this ending, I cannot say for sure but I think it's a reflection of Vanille's thoughts. The text at the beginning says this is possibly it, though HOW they would end up in someone's thoughts after killing Caius in Oerba makes no sense. Half of this game makes no sense when you look at the plot. It's why almost no-one writes time-travel plots anymore, because you really, really have to think your crap through.
the maker isnt a fal'cie...he is a seperate being... in final fantasy 13...i dont know the cutscene, but vanille said *and this is almost word for word* "Fal'cie, in effort to be closer to the maker, made l'cie...implying that the "maker" is a god, a human with inhuman powers. Much like in christianity which says that God made us in his image.
Hope got involved because he wanted revenge for Snow putting his mother in the fight to save her son I would think his mom know the risk and that is why he became a lic with help of Vanille Snow and Lightning wanted to save Serah and Sazh though by killing a Pulse fal cie would save his son
Actually, no.. it wasn't just her that caused it all. She caused the portion for Dahj and Sazh, however with Lightning, Snow and Hope they all fell to becoming L'Cie because they were after Serah. Lightning wanted revenge for what they've done to her sister, Snow wanted to bring her back, regardless of who Serah is now, and Hope was... well, along for the ride by mistake. Lol Tho, you could be right since the start of it was Vanille. Funny. Fate is a twisted thing is it not
-Spoiler if you haven't finished the game!- pretty sure she never brought fang back to see vanille. just went and died at the end of the game... how very rude.
why isnt vanille in the crystal pillar, where is fang? are all these secret endings real? will they all relate to Xiii-3 or is this all extra for entertainment? HOW DOES ALL OF THIS WORK?!! Y FFXIII SO HARD TO KNOW?!!
It not just lightning you know. To be continued mean there is going to be another game. Think about it. There too much stuffs to put into dlc. So what happen with serah, fang and vanille, does lightning come back? What happen in new valhalla? And they're done with the dlc anyways so it either versus xiii or ffxiii-3
Just saying to anyone who doesn't like Vanille.... if you were stuck as a crystal for 100 of years... you'd be happy to wake up too... some of you are just too negative...so sad. =/
being trapped in an eternal crystal sleep...a scary thought
Shabaka Smkss after 500 years, that’s still a long time
The worst part is, in this paradox ending, her succumbing to her fear was actually what the falcie wanted her to do. 3:35 foreshadowing
this is apparently 500 years prior to the events in FFXIII, or it could be a dream.
the dialog is really soothing for some reason, i guess vanilkle had time to become poet with all this time.
I hope so too. I love the music and the characters.
@UdtheImp

They had the same focus

shit i cried
It's one of the first cutscnese when they get to Gran Pulse after fighting Fangs Eidolon. Look it up!(:
Vanille and Fang to be the main characters of FFXIII-3!
Vanille is my first favorite character in XIII.
Mine to
@@dankdilly yes i made a drink that inspired from Vanille, the indrigents is orange juice and sweet sugar (if only i go to shopping i will add honey and vanille).

in a trailer of lightning returns it shows fang
I don't plan on getting FFXIII-II, so can someone tell me how is it that she's crystallized in Oerba when she was crystallized in Cocoon?
Thanks for the explanation! I get it now. Catherine
Catherine Yes. It really was confusing how Vanille wonded up there, at her home town. But now I know why.
I mean they did say that her crystal was transported to Cocoon from Gran Pulse on the vestige.
I think that was a diferent dimension where things didn't happened as in the main time line
LOL I'm just guessing since Serah was absent in FFXIII, she is main character of FFXIII-2, Fang and Vanille are absent in FFXIII-2, they could be main characters of FFXIII-3

yes you did
How in the world did I end up getting that before I beat the game? I beat Caius in Oreba 200, and I still got this part on my first play...
And although she wished for death she could not die. So eventually, she stopped thinking.
This reinforces that Vanille is total lez for Fang.
:D YAY i've been lookin' for some buckets of cp after fighting jet
@stdTrancR Meaby not, cause 13-2 is Lightnings something, thats how its called. It must be related to Lightning, not Fand and Vanille.
A very sad ending...melancholic.
Where do you get the gate seal for oerba 200 AF
Does anyone know, what the name of the music is played on the background during Vanilles truth?
Ragnarok from FF13
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's called Ragnarok.
Well that would seem probable seeing as there's a Valhalla gate as pretty much the final one you unlock for the storyline which seems to have no purpose when you've defeated the final boss trio
go to final fantasy wikia and read about FF XIII-2 :)
"It might seem that the line 'To Be Continued…' means that Lightning’s chapter will continue in more download content, but we are doing it in a different interpretation."
Actually, I could see Caius being the main character of FFXIII-3. That would be awesome.
can someone help me?! i cannot unlock time reversal of oerba AF200 what should i do?? :(
Uggh I need her to be in Lighting Returns, I want her to marry Hope pls D:
Annnnnnd she never brought her back to Vanille hahaha. Pretty awesome. Square should have made at least one more paradox ending so the history could be connected with FF XIII. It turn out the whole story become weird.... And different..

She was just manipulated by the order of light
Would love to know how to get time reversal for Oerba 200F, i dont have it
beat Caius in Oerba 200AF with the Paradox Scope active
can anyone tell me the name of the background song?
at the verry begining of this video there is a character with one angel wing and one boned wing I think its from a videogame on gamecube but I can't remember the name of it can you tell me please?
it is a paradox ending. it is sort of a what if ending.@UdtheImp
Like Fang,Vanille,Sazh,Noel,Hope being the main characters in ff13-3??:)
so that means serah put the fang crystal and vanille crystal in the fal´cie on coocon? so the start of FFXIII makes sense now
not true. DLC was supposed to show Lightning's view on the events
Could be, and there's a chance for Snow to, due to Serah dying and all. All I see for XIII-3 is the minimal Time Traveling and the appearance of Goddess Etro along with with the Maker, who's a fal'Cie
Wait what ? Who died ?
Yeah I saw that, that's pretty exciting. I remember I wasn't to on board with FFXIII2 only having 2 characters but they had such a great bond i turned out amazing so Lightning being solo will be interesting. Maybe more like Dirge of Cerberus or Crisis Core but I'm still happy to see Light's story continue.
hmm... The 3rd Birthday ???
So, in this time, the War of Transgression progressed without Etro's aid, but Fang still failed to destroy Orphan? So, did she become a cie'Th??
Did you try turning the paradox scope off?
That's a spoiler for 13-2 and I guess if you don't know you haven't finished it yet, dont want to spoil anything for you! Get on and finish it :)
Might have been sometime BF - BEFORE the Fall of Cocoon.
She may come back but LR is set 100's of years after 13-2 and from the trailers I've seen theres a strange serah look-a-like that apparently isnt serah... and Noel's there. That is not Serah, she is Lightning younger shadow.
So does anyone else think that Vanille and Fang will come back in Lightning returns??? I sure hope they do, make an appearance with Hope or something
Lightning is going be the plot in LR:FFXIII.
'Tis confirmed :D
So this means Fang was the only one who stopped Ragnarok with the help of Etro?
@aar444 @aar444 As for what happened in this ending, I cannot say for sure but I think it's a reflection of Vanille's thoughts. I think Noel and Hope will be the main characters. There might be other stories featuring Snow, Light and maybe even Vanille, Fang or . . . Serah?
Poor vanille hope miss u
Pretty sure most people know this by now.
Is this REALLY the ending? Or merely a glimpse into a possible backstory beginning....?
Sorry, I meant, if Serah is talking about the war of transgression... even mentions hundreds of years before she was born
:o yey
What's the name of the theme song?
I'm confused why is vanille in oerba. Isn't she trapped with fang. Together. ????
Same

@ToonzHere actually there won't be a final fantasy XIII 3...T.T
'They all lead to the end of the world, and a new beginning' sounds like ffxiii-3 is going to be set in Valhalla if you ask me..
dat CRYSTAL ass.
erm, lol... how many ends does FF XIII-2 have?
I am really confused xD
A lot
@AnarchistGoth Played the first game?
me too
Yep I saw the news last week. I hope to see more Caius.
wait how did you get to that time? I've tried everything.
Neko Fenrir obtain all the fragments

m'kay O.O
i don't think the maker is a fal'Cie, when they referenced him in FF13 they talked about the maker creating the fal'Cie and humans
There are higher being than Fal'Cie.. and more higher.
Actually, no.. it wasn't just her that caused it all. She caused the portion for Dahj and Sazh, however with Lightning, Snow and Hope they all fell to becoming L'Cie because they were after Serah.

pretty sure she never brought fang back to see vanille. just went and died at the end of the game... how very rude.
Now i want to play the Game again. But i have sold it :C FUUUUUUU
Still on stores ^^ Its on Steam and ps store
That's a spolier for 13-2, so guessing you haven't completed it yet, get on that :) then you'll know.
They weren't absent in FFXIII though.
No.. it can't be..serah?
@Bodmon256 Faaan Serrivice :)
LIghtning Returns FFXIII, Lightning is designated the sole playable character :( But maybe they'll surprise us and let us play as Vanille and Fang :)
isn't this song from ffx?? hymm of the faith?
Sort og
why isnt vanille in the crystal pillar, where is fang? are all these secret endings real? will they all relate to Xiii-3 or is this all extra for entertainment? HOW DOES ALL OF THIS WORK?!! Y FFXIII SO HARD TO KNOW?!!
