- Alex Vesia was a 17th Round Draft Pick out of a D2 called Cal State East Bay, and before that he was a 150-pound college freshman who couldn't squat 135. Now, he's a star reliever for the Los Angeles Dodgers with a fastball eclipsing 97 MPH and has one of the highest K/9 in Major League Baseball. His story is absolutely remarkable, and anyone who's looking to get some motivation for chasing their dreams is gonna love this episode. Hope you enjoy! 💯

This is exactly why Vesia is my favorite. Not only is he a super nice and humble guy, but he knows what it's like to have to grind to earn every bit of the success that he's achieved. Good podcast, Dan, and I can't wait to see more!
Thank you bro!! Really appreciate that. Alex's story is remarkable
Vesia is that dude. Love his passion on the mound. He's that underdog who gives it his all.
im a big dodger fan and vesia is my favorite reliever to watch. hes so fun and has so much personality and passion, and his story is so inspiring. i love the guy. last year on our home opener the crowd cheered pretty much louder than any other reliever for him; we all love him here. glad you did this interview
As a Padres fan I got mad respect for Vesia. I love his attitude
He’s so underrated
He is bro! 2.15 ERA and over 13 K/9. Dude is a stud
Seeing him succeed is so cool and unreal to see because I caught this guy in high school in the off-season’s. He was a couple years ahead of me so we didn’t actually go to school together but we went to the same high school and I would catch him in the summer during summer ball at our high school Steele Canyon, and to see him A make the big leagues and B play on my favorite team the Dodgers is absolutely nuts and such a cool feeling to know Him
Dude that's nuts!
My young son stays after Dodgers games looking for balls and autographs. Almost all the players immediately leave to go change and shower....except Alex. He has so many visitors it's crazy! You can tell how much he enjoys playing in MLB and just wants to share the experience with everyone he's ever known. It's fun to watch.
Incredible story, thanks for sharing Dan and Alex!!
Thanks for watching, Pierce!
I effing love vesia.. his poise and attitude makes the game more exciting
Lucky enough to have a few interactions with Vesia while he was in OKC. Chatted it up with me and my lil bro and made fans of him for life.
Thanks for being such a class act Alex and DSARM thanks for giving players an open platform to be themselves
Definitely an exercise in preserving and not giving up. Some players do not mature physically until after college. Scouts now a days miss that. More to Judging talent. Seeing potential is a true gift.
Damn, this was a really great interview. Awesome job.
Awesome interview! Vesia made a big splash and is def a Fan fave🤘🏽
Great interview. We love Vesia. Let’s go Dodgers!!!!
Vesia is so fun to watch on the mound. What a cool guy. Love his story. Great energy.
I love Alex! His energy on the mound is epic and you can really tell he’s got that dog in him! He’s hungry AF
why i love baseball you can go from a bottom scouted guy to on top of the world with hard work
1000% bro. It's inspiring
Ive got to say, youve really brought some great questions! Great interviewing!
Thank you!
Wow what an awesome humble dude , i am Now a big fan of this guy even though I’m a Red Sox fan
I went to high school with Alex. Wish I would’ve known him. I’m a big fan of his, and it’s always exciting when he comes to the mound
I love that intensity on the mound!!!!
He's ELECTRIC!
Great video man I wish all the best keep up the great content!
Thank you my man!! Always love seeing your comments 🔥
You are such a good host. Not a question wasted and great vid
My fav relief pitcher once he put on dodgers uni
just met A lex today for a baseball camp it was super fun
Great video keep it up! 👏
I fuckin' love Alex Vesia. Dude's a psychopath on the mound.
Great Video!
From Hayward and at the time I lived 2 blocks from cal state east bay (I'm old I still call it cal state Hayward).
.used to walk up from my house on Saturdays cause it was the closest baseball games and saw him a couple times.
That baseball field has the best view in California btw
No kidding! I'll look up the field right now
Dude, keep up the content. You're doing what MLB isn't, marketing the players and telling the story of the game.
Thank you my man!! That’s the goal
LETSSS GOOO W POST
THANKS GOATT
That’s so weird to hear Cal State-East Bay, that college has looked at me a few times and it was one that I was excited to see😂
He was gonna mention Bauer when talking about resources for young pitchers
This was so good
Thank you man! Was a blast to make
Great interview man keep it up
Thanks brotha!
Really good pod. Next time can you ask more about the minor league journey too. The pay, housing, stuff like that
Thank you!! Yes, great idea I will
Awesome content
Appreciate you bro!
Wish they spoke about the workouts in order to get to 90mph. There are HS players throwing 82 tops but don’t know how to get to 90mph for college. Great video man..
Im a padres fan and although he gave up the winning runs in that game 4, you could see he was a very good pitcher, much respect to Alex
Great video please try to talk to more big leaguers
Gotta love vesia
He's the best
What's really crazy is his walk rate- in 2019 at Class A he walked 4.8 batters per 9 innings.. then upon promotion to High-A he walked just 1 batter (0.5 per 9) in 18.2 innings then another promotion to AA walked just 1 batter again in 16 innings (0.6 per 9).. that's such a drastic improvement & mid season is nuts..
Goat
Ur the GOAT
Coach Mike Spears product right here shoutout coach
Nice job, what happened at the end of interview?
Thanks! Our camera died :/

Didn’t the San Diego Padres school him during the post season?
Yet they Choked like any other professional sport team out Of SD😵💫🤣✌🏼
Get Ohtani on here 🤪🔥
How did bro get an mlb player on his podcast
He's the 4th Big Leaguer and 8th pro baseball player we've had on so far! Lot more in the future too 🔥
Cronenworth's son
Dub Video
W thanks bro!
too bad he can't throw strikes
MLB player not close to Star
Let people dream
2.15 ERA & 13+ K/9.. keep an eye out this season for when he's an All Star lock 💯
@@DSARM Jake Cronenworth owns him LOL
Fast forward the the NLDS when he threw the pitch that got the Dodgers eliminated by Jake Cronenworth and the Padres in the 2022 NLDS hahahahahahahaha good thing this impostor somehow made it to the big leagues
