    (SOLD)
    Garcia Passoa 50 ''Bonaire'', built in 2001 by Garcia S.A. France, design by Philippe Harle.
    An attractive aluminium monohull with beautiful sailing lines and a light, spacious and comfortable interior. Fully bluewater ready, she handles easily and has a flexible sailplan well suited to short handed ocean cruising. With twin rudders and lifting centreboard she is superbly stable on all points of sail under autohelm or while enjoying handsteering.
    The lifting centreboard allows access to shallower anchorages than for fixed keel boats opening up wonderful anchoring opportunities near reefs, rivers and drying out for maintenance.
    Elegant yet strong, she provides a great feeling of security with her aluminium hull, twin rudders and a lifting centreboard. Bonaire is an ocean cruiser with comforting redundancy; several key systems are duplicated for greater reliability, for example twin rudders, 2 separate autohelms, 2 water tanks, 2 water pumps, foot pump, 5 methods of generating power, 3 integral GPS receivers, 4 methods for showing electronic charts. Other features are strongly engineered, for example, 12mm standing rigging, large Andersen 68ST jib winches, upsized 35 kg anchor and 12mm chain.
    The boat has enormous storage space. This was highlighted when the owners and their children victualled Bonaire for the South Pacific. They left Panama with more than 6 months of food, alcohol and spares without loading into cabin space. Also have onboard are 2 bikes, 2 SUPs, a Kayak, 2 outboards all in lockers, and space for a kid's sailing dinghy on the coachroof.
    The owners write: "Our family has sailed more than 16,000 miles on Bonaire from the UK to the South Pacific over 3 years. She is in great working order and ready to continue onto her next bluewater adventure."
    Garcia Yachts have been designing and building internationally-renowned ocean cruising boats since 1974. They are still setting the standards in the world of aluminium sailing yachts today. Each yacht is carefully custom-built using the very best equipment, workmanship and second-to-none attention to detail. Garcia Yachts have refined each yacht in every possible way to ensure the safety and pleasure of their owners no matter where in the world they wished to journey. Garcia Yachts is the promise of sailing where you want, farther, longer, and whatever the weather.
    Their philosophy: to push the limits, to offer you the best in all aspects, for extraordinary trips, in complete serenity.

    I have a 2 year plan to go full time cruiser. This type of vessel seems ideal for the cruising life--love the retractable keel!

      @@nrolled2888 Not yet. Boat prices went up considerably since my post. I have a strong feeling they'll come back down in the coming year or two. Still plan to commit to the life, but a short delay can open options I had not considered prior. Keeping my eye closely on the markets.

    Your presentations of boats is excellent. My only complaint about most sales videos is you never get to see the boats sailing. ..Seeing the boat in its element is a complete part of the presentation and would definitely help to boost sales. SUBBED .. Cheers :)

      @@nrolled2888 We don't actually. Not for second hand boats, as it is very hard to get finance for older boats. The best is to ask your bank for a personal loan.

    I wonder why these folks are selling such an awesome boat in the middle of the pacific.

    • @NautilusYachtManagement
      @NautilusYachtManagement  Před 5 lety +7

      Good question Michael! Well it's actually simple. Most cruisers put their boat for sale at the end of their cruise in Fiji and continue sailing until it is sold, usually between Vanuatu and New Caledonia until, if the boat is still for sale, go down to NZ to sell it. No one goes to Australia as anyone with the intention to sell their boat must first pay a 15% duty on arrival. This is a lot of money to spend just to be allowed to sell your boat, especially as the buyer will most likely not be Australian. NZ offers a good alternative as no tax is payable unless the seller or buyer is a resident. If you look each year between July and November at what boats are available for sale in Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia you will find that almost every cruiser within to sell after their Pacific crossing and before having to go home are here. This is also where the best boats are as they have almost all be refitted and equipped for ocean cruising within 3-5 years prior. We used to have our main office in Sydney but relocated our centre of activities in the Pacific as we only work with cruisers and had to be located where they all are! I hope this answers your question!

I am yet to meet one who regretted it having gone cruising, no matter their budget! Most actually say that they should have gone sooner and not worried so much! Life on the ocean is life as it should be. 😀
