    Personally I love LABS. I use it on most of my beats and love the sounds, some of which are super unique and all of which sound amazing. They’re all free, I don’t know what expansions you’re talking about but they’re not LABS and would probably just be Spitfire Audios paid plugins for professional composers and stuff. They also have some more modestly priced plugins in the $30 range.

      Navie D. It’s no worries you haven’t used it, it’s just a synthesizer at the end of the day, and the default presets aren’t that good but It def shines in sound design and presets like I said because so many people have affordable kits like Ave mcree, Based Gutta, brobeatz, etc.. after a couple days of purchasing I’m loving it. Serum can probably do the trick better with sound design, but the amount of 3rd party preset banks with modern sounds for trap instead of EDM is nice. Up to you, I know you already have plenty VSTS and can sound design using FL stock plugins. Amazing toy for sure though

    SeamlessR. Have u ever heard that guy? Sytrus is the most powerfull if u mastering this plugin. U can make EVERYTHING what u want. And you can use dx7(?) presets. And the low cpu usage...
    Serum:
    You can use as a synth. U can drop a sample on it and create a very rich sounding vocal chop. You can also make drums. Aaand as u said, this is also an fx plugin.
    You can use these for beat making as well. But yupp. Better for electronic music. They are S+ for me.

    • @nickcollins9893
      @nickcollins9893 Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely wrong. The 3x Osc does basic sine wave 100% right. What you're referring to is artifact called "aliasing", that chirping effect when you are using other waveforms than sine in this synth, and it's very noticeable when playing high notes. It's removed after rendering a song or pattern.
      Aliasing is encoded into 3x Osc itself in order for it to use less CPU. Recent update of FL actually includes an HQ button in 3x Osc, which enables "anti-aliasing in real-time" option thus getting rid of these weird artifacts.

    • @user-lt2rw5nr9s
      @user-lt2rw5nr9s Před 2 lety +2

      @@nickcollins9893 The point was just that it wasn't clean and I didn't know why, since other plugins didn't have noticeable aliasing. How computationally hard is a sine wave? Lol. It's good they have a HQ button now to turn off aliasing, but I'd rather use Sytrus or Harmor anyways. Sytrus is nice, still need to try out designing sounds in Harmor more.

    • @nickcollins9893
      @nickcollins9893 Před 2 lety

      @@user-lt2rw5nr9s 3x Osc doesn't have any aliasing when you dealing with sine waves, since it's just one harmonic. If something is happening in high frequencies when you using sine wave, it is most likely unaudible and shouldn't bother you that much :D
      Sytrus is capable of having aliased sound too, if you turn off oversampling.
      Also, I feel like 3x Osc wasn't exactly the synth that Image-Line paid much attention to, maybe since 2003 (talking about computationally hard waveforms). I could be wrong :) It was introduced in Fruity Loops 3 in 2000, and only got one update somewhere in mid 2000-s (phase randomness knob), and then complete UI overhaul with introduction of FL Studio 12.

    I’m a bit turned off as someone who owns a lot of these plugins myself, There were things you were so incorrect on it was rather unacceptable, considering people “trust” your knowledge, it is imperative not to misinform those who are learning... Ex: Natives “Battery 4” Drum VST... The description you gave was not even remotely accurate... You are NOT stuck with the sounds they give and you like a rompler and you absolutely CAN add your OWN SAMPLES to any of the pads and Battery is Not even remotely “outdated” in fact, it’s one of the more sophisticated in it’s category, you mentioned it was rather simple and that is not the case whatsoever, this is probably the most professional and feature rich Virtual Drum Machine on the Market which has caused many to undervalue Battery 4 simply because it offers so many different options including routing each pad to its own channel strip, I ended up creating a Logic Template just to save myself some time with setup when deciding to use Battery instead of DMD... Battery is a bit time consuming to get everything setup the way you want, but the reward is worth the time! Battery offers it’s own internal Bussing if so desired! You can sidechain within, compress within, limit, EQ, individual cell rendering! You can even drop a full loop 🔁 and it will automatically tempo sync, slice, and map each element to its own cell!!! I think 🤔 you should retract or just completely remove the Battery 4, not trying to embarrass you but if you leave that in there you ARE going to lose credibility... Look I understand we are all trying to earn a living and these reviews are money makers until people begin to catch little things here and there that suggest dishonesty. Probably a case of really bad luck here as this is one plugin you certainly can’t pretend review! As you see here, you were not even close in your remarks about this Plugin and It’s a bit upsetting knowing fellow Producers/ Musicians will miss out on a very serious tool as up until now, I actually never questioned any of the advice or production tips in your other videos. Now I’m not exactly sure if I trust what you say considering the fact I know you did not tell the truth and then knocked NI product 🤷‍♂️ I find that quite twisted to not only pretend review a Product but give it a poor review on top of it.
    Ps... The comment you made along the lines of “feel free to tell me how wrong I am in the comments below” Now comes off as a manipulative way of deflecting a reply just like mine where I’m simply calling you out and those who may not know what I’m talking about might consider me to be nit picking but this is NOT nit picking, you lied... Can you please own it? Maybe give the plugin a real try and then tell us?

    • @NavieD
      @NavieD  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey, thanks for taking the time and reaching out. After reading your comment a few times, I think there are a few things happening here.
      You mentioned adding in additional sounds, FX tools, as well as setting up templates as benefits. From my perspective, these types of benefits aren't as valuable with the proliferation of sample sites and modern DAW capabilities. Adding in your own sounds is great, but in terms of Battery's value at its price, it would now become dependent on the user finding other good sounds outside of the stock library (which they would likely have to pay for). This is why I said that you are stuck with the sounds it offers. I was talking from a value perspective, not a function perspective (and I agree I wasn't clear here. So far that, I take ownership). Adding in templates and effects are great, but I could just use the FPC to trigger drum samples and set up templates/individual FXs with that in a similar way. I agree with what you're thinking, it's a lot more crude and inefficient, but I am taking price into consideration, since I know my audience is sensitive to it. Paying $200+ for this, I would expect more.
      I understand what Battery does, and I agree it's a fine enough tool. If I undersold what it can do in my review, it's because I am undersold on what it can do for my audience. You said it's the most sophisticated in it's category. I would agree with you, it is very sophisticated. But my argument is that this entire category of plugin is becoming outdated. With where we are today, and what else you could buy with your money that will have a bigger impact on one's production, it's not something I would recommend. I would get a lot more out of something like Xpand!2 for a fraction of the price compared to Battery. Or just signing up for Splice.
      And this is why I said “feel free to tell me how wrong I am in the comments below”. It was partly a joke, but partly because of this type of situation. It's a bit unfair to think someone is a manipulative liar, and to paint them in the most negative light due to this. If you disagree with my execution, then fair. But to then take it a step further and imply that my intentions are malevolent, and that I am trying to manipulate and lie? I think that's a bit unfair. I would ask that you consider using the "principle of charity" in these types of situations.
      If you no longer want to follow my channel because of this, feel free to do so. I wish you the best on your beatmaking journey Mike.

    Sylenth is actually awesome, and it's geared towards any music you like, and you mistakenly showed the version 2.0. UI was updated in version 3, and it looks just like in small picture from your tier list. Less contrast, less brighter colors, pleasantly looking font.
    And, by the way! Just because poor little 3x Osc doesn't have any built-in effects, thousand of presets that you could spend whole century clicking through, doesn't make it a f-tier synth. The only limit with this synth is your imagination. But again, maybe it's truly a goddamn kryptonite for beatmakers.

    I’ve been watching quite a bunch of videos of yours and I find them pretty much on point but this one is definitely the worst, specially considering your approach to beat making. This video is really much about factory presets and library navigation. If You put this video under this perspective it totally makes sense. But this time you are mixing apple, oranges, cars and airplanes. And I find that noobs get really confusing ideas about what to buy from contents like this: how can you compare 15 yo SYNTHS such as massive and absynth to a modern rompler such as omnisphere(which is not but here it has been used just as that), you didn’t mention nexus and so on. Long story short: I find your other contents: on point, well explained, with a nice approach and everything good I consider in this kind of video productions but this one felt to me as a cheeky click bait even though a slightly different title could have made such a big difference to me. Keep up with the good work! Cheers from Italy. No hard feelings at all, actually it is the opposite
