Thank You so much for these videos. I am from Canada and I just came back from a 4 night/5 day trip to NYC with my wife and another couple and had a fantastic time. From Little Italy on Arthur Ave, the High Line, The Edge, Julianne's Pizza, Bleeker Street Pizza, Roosevelt Island, getting around by the subway, etc, etc, etc. The other travelers were impressed by my knowledge but I just kept telling them it was all from watching your videos. Again, Thanks so much! I cannot wait to go back!
I was fortunate to visit DiFara's a few times when I visited Brooklyn the last 4 years. Dom will be sorely missed. He was an expert that always made the right combination of ingredients. Thanks for another great video

Another excellent video by Jon. He just doesn’t make many bad ones now. When it comes to food tours of NYC and Pizza reviews in particular Jon is the man. His style is so natural and easy going. For anything New York Jon is hard to beat. Check out all his video’s. No BS. These Pizza places were great to see as they are not your typical well known tourist places yet all were different in what they served so to speak. Antonio was excellent in this video to. When two people who are passionate about Pizza come together it makes for a good video.

The generational aspect of L&B is so true, Jon. When we lived in Brooklyn, my parents used to take me there all the time. They used to have plastic blow up giant baseball bats they sold outside that I'm sure my parents loved having me beg them to buy!
Forgot to say: I'm surprised you guys didnt hit Krispy Pizza on 13th ave. Their social media promotion on IG and TikTok has been very agressive lately! I get their posts all the time.
I find L&B super overrated. Just like roll N roaster. It used to be good . Id still try L&B but I personally hate sicilian slices and whenever someone orders or brings it they bring squares. Kinda pisses me off

For part 2 in Brooklyn you should check out Williamsburg and head to Best Pizza and Joes for that quintessential slice. Dumbo for coal fired at Grimaldis/Julianas and of course a grandma slice at Difara in Midwood. And then don’t forget to grab a chocolate Babka across the street!
I graduated from St. John's in '83 up the block from Luigi's. Family lived right next to it. Briglio's are my cousins. You guys left out Lenny's 5th and Prospect. Great pizza 🍕 too!

Good episode. You covered my spots in sheepshead/Gravesend. There is one on west 6th and kingshighway that used to be good. My point of reference for the best is By the sheepshead bay train station during the 60’s through the 70’s. Now I struggle to find the best and go farther and farther away. Ciccios on Avenue U was so good with their sesame seed crust. New owners now.

I have many paisans from Sicily who emigrated to live in Bensonhurst as did my Padrino! I think I first visited Bensonhurst when I was a year old in the mid 60s and went there many times to visit relatives up until my early 20s!!!! But let me say as someone who now lives is Italy that pizza in Naples is unbeatable. It's another dimension of pizza! The square thick crust Sicilian pizza you showed is called "scacciuna" here in the province of Siracusa. They also make a similar pizza in the Apulia region of Italy.

I live in Bensonhurst. For me J&V is #1, Torre's is #2, and DaVinci is #3, but they're all great and I wouldn't argue anyone's choices. Haven't tried DaVinci's Sicilian though. I will rectify that shortly!
I still can't get behind L&B. I live in Bay Ridge and used to ride the bus to HS (Lincoln). I would pop in there every once and a while when switching from the B1 to the B64 on the corner. Never loved it, only went when I was starving after practice.

Mixed emotions about Luigi's... I'm glad that they're finally getting the well deserved internet attention, but I hope it doesn't ruin the ability for me to grab a quick slice when I'm in the area. I used to go to DiFara quite a lot back in the 80's and 90's. There was never a wait. Now... Forgetaboudit. Luigi's is purely an awesome old school Brooklyn institution. Love the neighborhood vibe.
I grew up living above a store on 18th ave right across the street from DaVinci pizza. My dad walked across the ave and bought pizza for dinner every Friday night. Great Times. As a teenager we made many trips to L&B Spumoni Gardens...Always the Grandma pizza.
I know we're talkin Brooklyn here, but my new favorite pizza in all the world is Amore at the corner of 58th & 9th near Central Park. Wow. Plain slice.
I acknowledge I’m a pizza snob spoiled by having the “best in the world” during my many stays in Napoli, Italy. I tried L & B once finding the “crust” comparable to cheap sliced bread and the sauce bland tomato water.
Try Lenny's on 86th street. Been there for years. Great pizza. L&b is legendary. The restaurant section is very good. When the weather is nice, everyone eats outside on benches. I have eaten there since about 1965.
I live in Ohio near a Pizzeria named Coccia House. Their Pizza is so popular , you have to reserve a table on a Friday or Sat night. They also ship par baked pizzas to some of our local soldiers serving overseas. A little piece of home.

I live outside New York now but we still go in to see the lites and do a food run l&b is the spot for flip flop pizza and triple parked cars without getting tickets, you can literally leave your car in the middle of the street people understand and get it. It’s now like 25 bucks a half a pie and oddly enuff there usually is a lie even when the temp is zero. What’s the real gem that no one knows is the food in the restaurant is amazing and people only really no it for ices and pizza
I am from Los Angeles and my first trip out to NYC was in July of 2019. First stop was a spot in Brooklyn that served us some giant Cheeses slices that blew me away. I am hooked and I can honestly said the best Pizza I have ever had is in Brooklyn and Manhattan and of course that one spot in San Francisco that is a Neapolitan Pizza spot that New Yorkers said was Fire. ....I love NY Pizza from the East coast.

I don’t think Luigi’s will get too popular. The distance is a little out of the way for most tourists and the marketing is not as hip as Lucalis.

I am hooked and I can honestly said the best Pizza I have ever had is in Brooklyn and Manhattan and of course that one spot in San Francisco that is a Neapolitan Pizza spot that New Yorkers said was Fire. ....I love NY Pizza from the East coast.
