Your story content is something that sets you apart from other let's players who would just play the game and call it good. Which may still be entertaining, sure, but you give it a personal note, which I really enjoy.
You’d love Officially Devin’s stuff then. Nariko’s Treasure is legit the best piece of gaming content on CZcams
I'm getting Civ vibes from the "One more space battle... Ok, one more space battle... ok this will be the last space battle..." Those Praetors really earn their keep though.
The mining on Naboo is due to its large reserves of plasma which made it a pivotal world in the Mid Rim. (Darth Plagueis novel goes in depth on that)
Between this series and the Oblivion series, I have become a regular watcher of this channel. Keep up the brilliant openers...
An hour and a half of Empire at War is like Christmas come early
Corvettes are important, but to really see them be effective at fending off fighter formations on their own you need like, ten plus, depending on how many fighters you're looking at, which is fine because they're only like, one or two pop cap a piece. If you've got plenty of good fighters yourself though, you can get away with a few just to screen missiles. Its all one big grand balancing act of making sure you have enough anti-fighter to deal with what you're fighting, enough tanky ships to sit at the front and not die, and enough damage to kill the enemy first. The mod makers try to make sure every ship is useful and has a niche, so that nothing is flat out just better at everything. Like, despite the fact that you get them pretty early, missile acclimators are the highest DPS to pop cap ratio in the mod and are not to be underestimated, but struggle against point defense ships a standard acclimator that you start the game with would chew up, so they're not a straight upgrade.
I've been running a very specific line breaker fleet that uses a number of smaller pickets to cover my Mandator II. Having a mux of Carracks, Arquitens, and Peltas to eat up the bombers while the dreadnought destroys their stations is just fantastic. Also good to look into the specific buffs certain Admirals give their units. Like Adar Tallon buffs all fighter and bomber craft alongside his command bonus.
Ok in Durges defense the man was getting shot by 3 A5 Juggernauts plus all the infantry, he didn't stand much of a chance 😂
I think Sun Tsu would agree with you going for the factories and command structure. By taking down those, you simultaneously attack the upper echelon of the confederate command staff.
If you ever need a mass of clones don't forget to call in Cody. He comes with a platoon so it's like free clones.
Its so cool seeing you branch out and do your thing with all these other game genres! I just installed Divide and Conquer back in Feb and its so cool seeing you play it. And now Empire at war??
This is a good year
Uhhh, for the Republic?
- A very confused, probably hungover, Captain.
There's a re-balance for the mod, a side-mod, that lets you enable the shield penetration. It's official. For both this and thrawn's revenge.
Once you do Order 66, you should definitelly build Labor Camps on Kashyyk and Geonosis 😀
Odds are they made missiles not bypass shields in space battles for balance reasons. Probably thought it was too strong.
I suggest a sticky note on the monitor - don’t spend all the $ just before a big ground battle!
You can mine on Naboo because of the planets liquid core which has a lot of plasma, which is why the Gunguns use them orb things.
Actually here is a lot of info in that section , you need to start order 66 or 65 to advance the story.
Palpatine: Most of you will die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make!
Dave: 'I'm going to try and make a concerted effort to be less terrible at land battles.'
Also Dave: Loses entire initial party and landing zone in the opening minutes.
To be fair he didn’t have any credits it’s pretty hard to manage that otherwise and he won handily so I say gold star
Very few ships in FoTR are good on their own and the corvette is the prime example, they need to be kinda mixed in with other ships at the front so that the AI has more things to shoot other than the corvettes.
Though like you said, hard to argue with results, and you have been getting results for sure! Excellent episode!
empire at war is fun. Glad to see this back.
So the thing about the big weird tank is, its kinda like direct fire artillery. Kinda squishy, very slow, decent range, slow firing, hits pretty hard. There's a few vehicles like that in FotR and TR. I think that one in particular has a hypervelocity gun which ignores shields, which is basically all ground units have. They can be very difficult to use effectively because the game moves so fast and they're just so damn slow though. Still, very nice to have against big vehicles, so long as they're not getting shot at themselves.
I think the ut at is supposed to be used in a tank destroyer role
RE Mining on Naboo: Apparently, Naboo has raw plasma reserves. Which, considering a DC-15 fires ionized (ionic?) plasma... it's at least a big deal for the game's setting.
They made an official submod to reenable shield piercing in both of their mods iirc
Tarkin is absolutely not a great commander. In the old lore, he's pretty much the singular architect of the Empire's downfall.
They were mining some strange plasma from Naboo. That was main export.
As for shield penetration, there is submod for it. I kind of understand Corey. It makes battles harder in some way, as you can't just drop shields of enemy ssd with bomber strike.
Duge should have riddiculous health regen. How many times they "killed" him in comics and cartoon.
You know I've been thinking more about the whole fighter countering issue, and I was wondering, do generic jedai units get star fighters in space battles?
Maybe it's like Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, and jedai are suposed to be your ace fighter pilots who carry battles and the clone fighter squadrons are mostly there for filler or something.
"Good thing those bugs can't aim"
Genosis is marked with "butts" huh?
lore accurate ISNT bypassing the shields people just cherry pic the times that happens to justify game cheese.
people want one fighter squadron to cripple a mile long ship with one or two pases
Noooo, don't do the Order 66. Plz don't!! I like what yer doing now :(
You're literally blind, ventress appeared just before you decided to look away and you didn't notice her
