Intuitive knowing vs. intellectual knowing. Where do you see the moon, in the distance or in your mind, in your awareness? The same is true for the entire universe, we are not in it, it is in 'us', i.e., in our awareness, the one and only awareness that is infinite awareness, that is Brahman. Thank you for sharing, Austin Vedanta!

I so agree with you 🙏🏼
And for me it is the opposite. I started listening to Advaita Vedanta through Swami Sarvapriyananda's talk post I read the only 2 books completely in my entire life "Autobiography of a yogi" by Shri Paramhansa & "Raja Yoga" by Swami Vivekananda.
Since then I have started to clear the dust and cobwebs off my thoughts and started seeking that clarity to which most of us refer to as God.
I am in the midst of a very emotional turmoil because of my mother in COVID care but I am so stable like never before and able to handle the situation so nicely.
And, all this is possible because of listening to Advaita Vedanta & practicing those 7 Pranayamas by Shree Baba Ramdevji. So, Advaita keeps my thoughts and emotions healthy and Pranayamas keep by body fit and mind fit.
I have been diagnosed for Diabetes from last 10 years and I have stopped all medicines and yet my parameters are perfect because of above practices.

Swamiji shri sarvapriyanandaji once said a story:- 3 people were walking on the side of a high wall and sounds of laughter, merriment were coming from other side of the Wall. Curious to know as to what's going on there, the first two men, one after other, climbed the wall and mesmerized by the happiness available there, jumped in to the area of that merriment and happiness. The third man also climbed the wall and standing on top of the wall saw what great merriment going on there. But he did not jump. He was kind enough to think of. millions of people back home who needed his guidance. So he saw the other side of the wall and came back and told his "impressions ". ( definitions). The whole spiritual literature of the world is..... as told by these THIRD type of men who didn't jump into the" zone " of happiness but saw it from a distance.
Now my question is....... Those WHO have not actually experienced the "zone " but only saw it from a distance, how authentic and trustworthy are their descriptions?

Of course the question is “how to cease identifying with objects?”
Sri Ramana Maharshi stated that the aspirant should attend always to the sense of “I”, the ego, and not its objects. In doing so the ego is starved and eventually dies. What remains is the natural state, I AM.

It seems that maya must be ultimately expressable through wave function. Truth it seems is always self illuminating and " uncontactable" ; innocent.A blessed mystery we are all falling into forever. Mystical experience reveals to the individual that which could only be appreciated by brahman, thereby exposing his own reality as atman. Lol my western view.

Can someone shed light on my confusion?
When it is said that we r all one then what is the function of witness ? Let anyone do anything why should we bother . We will only see or witness what the other is doing even if it is wrong . Even when our own close ones do something wrong would we not step in and do our duty . Should we leave them and go if they don't hear ?

    @williamwesner4268 Před 3 lety +1

If the Body and Mind cannot be aware of the Self, then how did knowledge of the Self arise in the first place?
This strikes me as being the most profound mystery of existence - not the fact that Body, Mind, and Soul/Self exist, but that they all behave as if they are aware of one another despite each being of a totally different order.
Just sit there and try to reflect on what is really happening when you are discussing these topics. One model that comes naturally to most people is based on how television works. The Body is the physical hardware - glass screen, electron gun or LCDs, wiring, etc. The Mind is the dynamic behavior of the electrical components - essentially, as an object, it is a complete map of all possible cause/effect relationships, but due to its nature it cannot be physically manifest all at once in space, instead being borne out through time. The Self would then be whatever is being shown on the screen.
What can we conceptually extract from this simplistic scenario? First, notice that the physical form of the hardware is intimately related to its behavior in time, however also note that they are not in one to one correspondence. Given some desired behavior, there is an infinite variety of actual circuit configurations that all behave identically from an external perspective, i.e. only considering their inputs and outputs, while their unique differences are only realized if you probe them internally. Second, note that the underlying content of the images and sounds displayed on the screen is not dependant on the physical construction of the TV nor the operation of its circuitry. The true nature of the images and sounds is as electromagnetic waves of information, and like the Self, just because your TV may be broken or turned off doesn't mean there is nothing to pick up.

    Pranaam swamiji,
But in your presention I found some *Objectable points and contradiction*
    pls clear them-
    1) You said Savikaar and Nirvikaar are not related at all but in upanishads and vedic texts it has been said that Savikaar comes from Nirvikaar and they are very intimately related as two sides of a coin . Especially in advait vedant both are very intimately related as Shakti - Shaktimaan (Ardh Nari - Nareshwar).
    2) You talked only about Nirvikaar realization but in actual realization always initially we had to pass through savikaar stage realization then we go for Nirvikaar.
*Because in between jiva and Brahma there is subtle energy of Maya*. Without overcoming this maya we cannot attain Brahma.
    3) Maya is always ignored and subdued in advait vedanta for self realization considering " Brahm satya jagat mithya l
But Maya is also Brahma itself then why it is not respected as God's (Brahma) energy.and indifferent from Brahma ??
    4) Does Only Shravan, Manan and Nidhidyasan is sufficient for discovering ones true nature. Does Sadhana, Paramatma Bhakti,Upasana, Nishkaam karma etc are necessary for realization or not?
