Back in the 70's when it used to freeze here, we wrapped all our outside water pipes with rags. They're still on the pipes. We haven't had freezing temperatures in quite a few years. The coldest it has been this year was 40 degrees and I had a hard time with that! My fingers were about frozen and hirt like crazy. My ancestors were some of the earliest settlers in SW FL. I guess I'm born and bred SW FL.

Yes, we’re praying the same thing. Definitely not used to these extreme temps. Especially for this amount of time without a single day above freezing for almost two weeks!
So happy to see you guys ... Love watching you kids ! We are in the Deep freeze here in Wisconsin . With wind chill we could hit fifty below zero ......so beyond ready for old man winter to take a hike and get out of here !!!!! Right now it's 13 below zero and dropping ! You kids take care , stay in as much as you can and stay warm and safe !!! I have electric waters in with my rabbits so their water doesn't freeze. And have like five tarps over the cages to block them from the winds and snow. But than my critters are all spoiled rotten .( But then my critters are pets don't live on a farm any more... Dang it !!!! ) They are right Jacob does kind of look like Grunk !!! And he used to play for the Pats along with Brady but he retired and came back to play with Brady again this year . OK you kids take care be and stay safe, healthy and happy !!!

Warm over here in good old southern California. Went surfing today.
Back in the 50s early 60s my dad had these around heaters that you put in water to keep them thawed out and warm. Is 20 cold up here in Iowa to right now it when we're at -6 for the temperature I don't know what the wind chill is probably pretty cold!

actually I just got through running my dishwasher to keep my pipes from freezing up pretty cool out here in Manor, Texas outside of Austin! Small town in the country.... It's 1:27 and the a.m. and the temperature out here has dropped below freezing...

OKLAHOMA has not experienced this type of weather but once in 1799 that when we can hear from SSP they can cut your electric off which they did. Then they turned it back on. But subject to 18 states about the grid. Also main pipes in roads have busted no water to a dribble so it's been bad then gas is freezing so problems there, but worse of all the gas rose in price to 40x the. Price I pay in a month. So that will be costly know telling how were suppose to pay that. Scary can't get out in residential areas at all. Snow is very high and just can't move about . My son is required to be at work and he got stuck backing out of driveway into street and he worked on it for over 2 hours. Unreal it isn't going anywhere. So don't know if he will lose his job over this. Pray for us.

Tomorrow is supposed to be our coldest day in northeastern New Mexico.
It’s supposed to get down to 13 degrees in south Texas tomorrow. Do y’all put heat lamps in your chicken coop? We tried to buy one but everyone down here is sold out. Worried my chickens might not make it with the temperature that cold.
We don’t put heat lamps in our coop. They seem to do alright as long as there’s no drafts and plenty of ventilation.
Northern Minnesota was at an air temp of -44 yesterday, then windchill ontop of that. Also, when I had rabbits in the winter here in SE Minnesota, it was horrible trying to keep them watered, I was using the ball water bottles. I finally moved them into an old garage and bought a milk house heater. It stayed at 40 even at 55 below zero in January of 95, problem solved.

@@SawyerRidgeFarm hope you and your animals all get through this cold snap. They are talking around =17-20 tonight plus wind chill. Thinking of your house water supply, not sure if you have a basement or just a crawl space but either way if can either get a heater in the area of the pipes or insulate them with anything it should help. Good luck and keep each other warm. I burn wood so this cold snap is not an issue, just hard on my wood pile, but I have enough to make it through.

You kids are real and honest....wonderful tip about the dish washer...I have one but only use it to put and store stuff in it !!!!
We had a light bulb in the pump house to keep it from freezing . Kept a heat lamp in the chicken coop for the chickens and goats..... Take care kids .
