  • Well the day has finally come for Gus to take his girl home. The sun is shinning and she sounds sweet. I got to take it up the road to check out the clutch etc and she sure felt good. Still the small issue of Kick Starting it, but I think we are going to switch her over to a Dyna "S" ignition to fix that. I know Gus is happy to get her home.

    Good video Ralph! I've been riding to North Carolina from Texas every year since 2019. Some of the best roads in the United States in N.C. and Eastern Tennessee. We stay in Maggie Valley every year and always stop in Wheels Through Time, and never tire of it. Place is simply amazing. Anyone that loves vintage motorcycles has to have it on their bucket list!

    Great trick with the four headless screws. Probably saves a lot of frustration.

    Dang....that looks like a beast to kick. Being in my 50's and having had knee surgery, I really appreciate electric start 😂

      @itsmytimeletsgo  Před 15 dny

      I do to as I get older. She is a beast to kick but starts easy now after figuing out the combination. They are all so fussy and have their own combos for starting. Thanks for commenting.

    I'm sure you know the elec. ignition needs to set to zero dead revs. I have a Primo Rivera clutch in mine but it's a heavy clutch pull. Got to be a Gorilla to ride my bike. I like the BDL belt drive to eliminate the primary leaking. I like that lever handle starter but not sure it's worth the $$$. Tell Gus to bring CASH MONEY~!

    • @itsmytimeletsgo
      @itsmytimeletsgo  Před 2 měsíci

      You need a specail unit to re-program the Dyna 2000i for that, and or kick mode. Clutch should not be a hard pull must be something in the settings. Although some shovels do have a hard pull. Lever seemed to work good, We will see over time. Thanks for commenting.

    • @tomconte1765
      @tomconte1765 Před 2 měsíci

      @@itsmytimeletsgo Yes, I have the cable to program the 2000i for kick start but I don't think it's worth the trouble. Kick starting a 93incher is not easy. 74 or 80 no problem.

    I had to put a quarter 20 helicoil in this one EVO motor I'm working on for a friend.. luckily that's between that and some kind of metric size is what I found in my toolbox.. I didn't have a tool to insert it so I had a long shafted Schrader valve tool and I just went and cut it deeper.. so I could grab onto that crosswire is a bar tit that's part of the hellia coil and it worked
    Used it to screw The Helio coil in didn't even have the right there was threads in there but I think they were for 516 but it worked I'm not sure I guess you have to have some special threads for helicoils but it went in with the 5/16
    When somebody thought that they could just put a bigger bolt through the oil pump

    If you knock the starter lever while it's running, does it activate and strip the starter cog?

    • @itsmytimeletsgo
      @itsmytimeletsgo  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I think it would try to engauge if you did that. No reason to do it though. Thanks for commenting.

  • @WHH486
    @WHH486 Před 3 měsíci

    You need to set the dead revs to 0 to be able to easily kick start it.

    • @itsmytimeletsgo
      @itsmytimeletsgo  Před 3 měsíci

      Checked to see what you were talking about. Seems you can't just set that on the Dyna 2000i without a special unit to program it. The cost to get the unit to program it, up here in Canada, is more expensive than swapping out to a Dyna "S". Might look into it further in more detail in the future though. Thanks for the comment and letting others know about it.
