  • @larrycancooke2
    @larrycancooke2 Před 3 lety +7

    In most of Tony's runs... you'll see Tony gearing down about 20yrds from the end zone... That's pure speed..and moving at such a high rate of speed and velocity...his jukes only had to be minor.... He'd hit the hole at about 4.3.. It's nearly impossible for the defense to recover against someone moving that fast from the word hike....

    My all time favorite RB. The Hawk, TD, Touchdown Tony. You have to be from Pittsburgh to know him as The Hawk. I don’t know why he is left out when they talk about all time greats. Perhaps it’s because he made it look so easy and we took him for granted. Maybe he is lost in the shuffle between Payton and Campbell. I don’t know... one thing I do know, if I were building a team and I could pick any back in all of history... it would be none other than Anthony Drew Dorsett “The Hawk.”

    Bill Parcells rates Dorsett as the most difficult offence player to scheme against and he knows a thing or two . Montana Rice Sanders Payton and many other great players didn’t cause him the headaches TD did . That says it all really. The ultimate big play running back . Smith was consistent durable but come on given Smith’s offensive line Dorsett would have cut teams to ribbons with 20 runs a game or even less !!

    Dorsett was indeed and still would be today the "Ferrari" of running backs
    "Lookout, cause he could go all the way!!"
    "He's got the speed to take it the distance"
    "Every single time he's given the football he is a threat to score"
    I don't hear that too much about any player still to this day

  • @nikosuavesworldofsportsmusic

    Tony Dorsett is the most athletically gifted running back in Dallas Cowboys franchise history while Emmitt Smith is HANDS DOWN the greatest, all-around, & most complete running back in ALL facets of the game i.e. running, blocking, pass receiving, lack of fumbles (Dorsett was horrific in that particular category but I digress), & big game clutch performance vs elite defenses to be exact.

    • @TD-ke4vd
      @TD-ke4vd  Před 4 lety +3

      Emmitt Smith is one of the most Overrated players in sports history. He was a very good player who played with the probably the best ever O-Line. Dorsett scared defenses. Emmitt's line scared defenses. Smith's greatest asset was his durability which allowed him to get all those carries and yards without injury.

    • @nikosuavesworldofsportsmusic
      @nikosuavesworldofsportsmusic Před 4 lety +1

      @TD No the player that's one of the most OVERRATED in sports history would be your boy as a Denver Broncos fan the injury prone Terrell Davis who was a 6th round bi-product of the LEGENDARY Alex Gibbs Denver Broncos one cut zone blocking scheme. Emmitt Smith was the all-time leading rusher in United States high school football history at Escambia High in Pensacola, Florida with 110 rushing touchdowns, the all-time leading rusher at the University of Florida in his 3 year career, & was ACTUALLY a first round draft pick unlike the overrated Terrell Davis & of course was the '90 Rookie of the Year, '93 NFL & Super Bowl MVP, 4x rushing champion, all-time career leader in rushing attempts, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, & has the second most total career touchdowns behind NFL G.O.A.T. wide receiver & player Jerry Rice. Unlike Terrell Davis' backup running backs who ALL looked like first ballot Hall of Famers running in that Alex Gibbs one cut zone blocking scheme from Orlandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Clinton Portis, Tatum Bell, Michael Pittman, & Peyton Hillis none of Emmitt Smith's backup running backs produced one fifth of Emmitt's rushing totals behind the SUPREMELY OVERRATED "Great Wall of Dallas" offensive line from Derrick Llassic, Lincoln Coleman, & Sherman Williams. Also after the 1992-93 Dallas Cowboys won their first of 3 Super Bowls in 4 seasons Emmitt Smith proved he was the best & most important player on that team because the 1993-94 Dallas Cowboys got off to an 0-2 start while Smith renegotiated his contract that same Dallas Cowboys team that went 13-3 in 1992 & EVISCERATED the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVII or 27 52-17 lost 35-16 on opening night MNF to a Washington Redskins team that went 4-12 in their first season without Hall of Fame head coach Joe Gibbs & in Week 2 at home in old Texas Stadium lost 13-10 to that same Buffalo Bills team that they put up 52 points only 9 months prior in Super Bowl XXVII or 27 on 01/31/1993 same overrated "Great Wall of Dallas" offensive line, same Hall of Fame head coach in Jimmy Johnson, same renowned offensive coordinator in Norv Turner, same Hall of Fame quarterback in Troy Aikman, same pro-bowl fullback in Daryl "Moose" Johnston, same Hall of Fame wide receiver in Michael "The Playmaker" Irvin, same big play one dimensional deep threat wide receiver in Alvin Harper, same pro-bowl tight end in Jay Novacek, same defense that was ranked #1 during the 1992-93 season yet not ONE member was named to the pro-bowl that season. The only 2 differences were defensive coordinator Butch Davis who replaced Dave Wandstedt who was named Chicago Bears head coach prior to the 1993-94 season & of course Emmitt Smith the MOST DISRESPECTED great Hall of Fame running back in NFL history. Soon as Emmitt got his new contract the '93 Dallas Cowboys who I repeat started off that season 0-2 went 12-2 the final 14 games to finish 12-4 with the #1 seed & home field advantage in the NFC PLAYOFFS after Emmitt's heroic one arm performance in the season finale at old Giants in the Meadowlands of East Rutherford, New Jersey in the Cowboys 16-13 over time win, Emmitt also won his third consecutive league rushing title, won league MVP honors as well as Super Bowl XXVIII or 28 MVP honors as he helped the Dallas Cowboys win back to back Super Bowls. So in conclusion there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING at all overrated about the great Emmitt Smith don't allow his lack of flashy CZcams highlights take away from his abundance of Hall of Fame & clutch substance & FINALLY his resume is Creme Dela Creme in NFL HISTORY & he doesn't owe anybody no explanation because his yeoman work did all of the talking for him.

      @@TD-ke4vd At 5ft 9inches he was perfectly built too short to see over that mammoth o-line and built like a fire hydrant if you "tried" to tackle him one on one. Enmity had impeccable and uncanny vision. And for a short dude wasn't a scat back type, he was straight north/south runna. 5 yards out from the end zone. He was unstoppable.
