I think it’s worth mentioning to your viewers how important it is to get your dog from a reputable breeder who does tons of legitimate health and genetic testing to avoid these kinds of conditions as best as possible.

I do mention it in a lot of videos, including our most recent Q&A. But the point of this video is not “where to get a Cavalier”, it’s about what we do to manage our dogs’ health. I would also like to add that H&M are not from a “reputable” breeder and Herky is heart clear at age 10.

I give Bentley Dinovite. I heard it advertised on the radio and ordered some three years ago. It’s a dry mixture I combine with his food. His coat is healthy looking, it prevents dogs from licking their feet and creating hot spots, it helps digestion too.

Hi! I just wanted to say that i actually have found a cavalier puppy and shes so sleepy shes sleeping in her bed right now haha! She got potty trained within 3 days and learns very quick but im not sure how to stop her biting and eating absolutely everything! Its a bit frustrating but ive noticed that it only really happens when shes super energetic. I would love some advice for this little ruby cav ❤ 🐶
Ps: do they get calmer with age? Just curious :)

Have you considered feeding your dogs a raw diet? my cavie is transitioned to raw, and it would eliminate the need for any supplements. highly recommend Paws of Prey's channel.

I have had my ruby Cavalier for about 3 weeks and have noticed a lot of butt scooting. I had not heard of Glandex. Is butt scooting a common thing for Cavaliers? I will have to try those and see if it helps.

Yes. They scoot. My Sadie scoots to tell us she needs to go. It also can be a sign of SM.
