- Cloudberry is my favourite wild berry, and it also happens to be one of the most expensive berry in Finland. I use to sell some cloudberries every summer. Picking one pucket (9kg) takes 2-5 hours depending on the year. Also it's often difficult to get to the spot so travelling and walking takes easily 3-6 hours if you don't live nearby.
For me, the ideas in czcams.com/users/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.

Very interesting, the countryside is gorgeous and the cloudberries remind me of our blackberries. Stay safe, be careful, take it easy and keep cool...NC, USA
They are beautiful. Cloudberry ice cream in southern Sweden is my first experience with them. Delicious!!!
Delicious berries. They remind me of apple pie. Love seeing that landscape.
We call cloudberries “bakeapples” in Newfoundland
Love cloud berries had them on tundra In Newfoundland crawling around after Woodland caribou.
i love how pristine the place is and you can just harvest berries like that in the wild! amazing

Finland is a very nice country. Hope I could visit there one day. Y’all stay safe there💚
Me too!!!!
I live in there😊 and it's a nice country
@@shotooimhungry_4034 wow 😲 . I bet people living in your place are nice too just like you.
It looks like a beautiful country, but all I can think of is WOLVES AND BEARS. And Finland has both!!!!!!!😱
@@bobjob3632 I have never seen a wolf of bear in the woods. They are good at hiding so no need to worry about them.
Cloud Berries 🙌🏻❣️ now I wanna go in Finland 🙃
Wow! There seem to be a lot of berries this year!
Gracias amigo
Cloudberries as far as the eye can see. I wish we had them in Northern Ontario Canada. We used to be able to buy Cloudberry Liquor but they don’t import to Canada anymore from Finland. We would get it for Christmas yum. Thxs from 🇨🇦🇫🇮
That's quite the spot! I collect them here in Scotland, very few people do so not really much competition. Just for myself though, not sure about legality of selling them and no big demand for them here. Would love to visit Finland to give you a hand, looks like my sort of country.
Hello im from Scotland too, where do you find these berries??
They look delicious. I don’t think this berry travels well. It looks very fragile...
Watching from saudi arabia, nice view, take care brother
Boy that was quite a harvest. They look 😋 yummy.

Cloudberries aka “hjortron” is highly perishable, meaning they’re at it best right when you pick them
hjortron is what they are called in swedish, but in finnish it is lakka or hilla
@@maple494 well, I called then “Hjortron” because I am in fact Swedish
Thanks for sharing, wondering approximate location ? Don't worry. I live in Florida now.

Finland is beautiful city.
wow thats alot of cloud berries
Guys, where would be the best place to go picking berrys in Sweden, wich region? Im interested in blueberries and this cloudberry
Gorgeous Mother Nature out there...like you said, as long as you don't get lost in the woods! It is nice to see your brother with you ...good companion and an extra pair of hands. Never heard of these berries, I am sure that they are yummy! So you can make juice, jams and pies like with any other berry? Maybe you can plant some on the property near the cabin? Of course, extra $$ is always a good thing! Take care.
Cloudberries only grow wild and are particular about where they grow, so you cannot farm them. So people who know of cloudberry patches in their neck of the wood tends to keep it to themselves, however since we got allemansrätten or "every mans right" it's free for everyone to pick and nobody can say this patch is theirs, even if they own the forest. The vast majority of berries go unipcked by human hands anyway.
We mainly make jam from them.
Wow. Amazing
On kyllä kaunista! 2:41
Nature's treasure chest !
What do they taste like?
Nice yuo are True picking master👍
How long did you collect cloudberries??? I collected for 1 hour and 30mins and got only 1.7kg. From finland, lapland
Depends on the year. This year I spent about 8 hours and got 16kg, but usually you doesn't get that much. Sometimes it's 10 hours and 10 kg :)
I saw this kind of berries for the first time 😂
wwow thts so many berries ,i wish i cn see tht kind of a berry personally
I'm a Filipino, I took my DNA test....and the result?
I'm 79% Indonesian, Malay, chinese and Filipino - the rest of my DNA (16 %) is Finnish! WHERE DA H3LL THAT CAME FROM??
In Germany those things have the less attractive name turfberry or swamp-blackberry.
Is this who picks the cloudberries when I buy cloudberry preserve
Beautiful. I want seeds of wild berries.
Which Part of Finland is it?
Southern Lapland
I'm wondering if these berries are sweet or very tart? Hope some day I'll get a chance to taste it
It's kinda difficult to descripe the taste :)
More sweet than tart though
These berries are called hjorton in swedish, also making jam out of it is delicious, try also picking mushrooms
we also collect cloudberries in Yakutia (this is the northern part of Russia) I was so surprised that we have such a similar nature!
I really wonder how the annoying mosquitos live in cold places like Finland?
That's true, you would think winter is enough :D
We call them bakeapples here... why idk lol, But me and my brother used to know a secret place in the woods where we lived in a little cabin community. We would sell them to the old ladies around the cabins who used them for jams for the year we would both make at least 200$ each in the 90's. Could only imagine the price of freshly picked cloudberries today.
Where did you live then?
@@FinnishPlayground Newfoundland, Canada.
Whennis cloud berry get ripe n ready to pick jully 20
Right now. I was picking in this very place yesterday :)
Hyvä video vois olla vaikka oijärvellä.
No siinä on kyllä jo kohtalaisen hyvä noukkimispaikka 👍
Toivotaan ensi kesäksi samanlaista satoa.
@@FinnishPlayground 👍 Ehdottomasti!
Can a foreigner pick it too?. like no forbidden for foreigner?. If i travel to finland, and pick that and sell it. is that ok?
Sure you can come and pick. There are companies that bring people here to do that. If you come alone, it might be difficult to find good spots though. We have here some easier berries too.
@@FinnishPlayground coz 10k euro here can buy 6 acre of land lol. thanks for your replay
How much is labor salary on picking berries in a day?
I guess it depends on how much you pick and for who. I know there are companies that hire people from thailand, but I don't know what are their salaries. Finnish people use to sell the berries for dealers or directly to customers.
does the cloud in cloudberry refer to the clouds of mosquito's??? Hah Hah...just kidding but that alone would make it a very annoying trip to go pick them, then the long trek to get there and back...charging any amount for those berries is justifiable.
Strange how youtube algorithm works... I was searching for a song (rare b-side) by The Cure (Cloudberry) and ended up here...
Okay so did you actually watch the video? 😅
@@FinnishPlayground To be brutally honest... no :-)

@@FinnishPlayground Joo hieman Oulua alempana idässä asun... 😄
Hi me i have your fb just an inquiry please
Kyllä niitä lakkapaikkoja löytyy kun etsii vaan.
Ite Kainuussa.

Go ahead.

Can you order seeds of these?
I have no idea, but I guess it would be very difficult to make them work.
We want go to working fruit picking in Finland please
Welcome. Some of the dealer companies doesn't have very good reputation, but I guess there are good too. And picking is free anyway.
Mä katon tän ku tarviin motivaatiota lol
Wow my favorite cloudberries
Are there snakes in Finland? All that tall grass makes me think one could appear at any moment.
European adder is the only poisonous snake here.
Adder don't like to be on the open space.
I think that the only dangerous snake in Finland, "kyy," is called viper in English. There are 2 to 3 other snakes here but rare and they not biting (poison).
@@JormaKovanen Its not dangerous, it's poison isnt very strong.

I saw like 200 cloudberries you missed
