Vehicle scrappage policy: In-line with expectations from the industry, the Union government has announced the scrappage policy in the 2021-22 union budget. The government hopes the policy will look to phase out older, inefficient and polluting vehicles and in turn promote the use of more environment-friendly vehicles. The scheme will apply to private vehicles above the age of 20 years and commercial vehicles above the age of 15 years.
While the specifics of the policy are likely to follow in the days to come. We expect the policy to provide monetary incentives to owners of vehicles over the age of 15 years that are polluting and unfit to run, in lieu of their next vehicle purchase. It also is likely that these incentives will be available in the form of road tax rebates on the purchase of your next vehicle.
"We are separately announcing a voluntary vehicle scrapping policy to phase out old and unfit vehicles. This will help in encouraging fuel-efficient, environment-friendly vehicles, thereby, reducing vehicular pollution and oil import bills," Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said while presenting the Union Budget 2021-22.

2-3 വർഷം എടുക്കുമായിരിക്കും നിയമം വരാൻ... വണ്ടി കണ്ടിഷൻ ആണെങ്കിൽ പൊളിക്കേണ്ടി വരില്ല എന്നാണ് കേക്കുന്നത്... പക്ഷേ test പാസ്സ് ആവണം... ഇപ്പോ എടുക്കുന്നതിൽ തെറ്റില്ല

Vehicles which are nonrepairangly damaged by accidents&which are lying in many old Police station's compound&in Court areas&compounds&which vehicles are not having any owners to claim such vehicle can be scraped removing out all usuful good parts useful for replacing in any repairable vehicles!!Simply scraping good vehicles in th name old age without seeing its good conditions &without consultation with its original owners is not good policy as many peoples are using their vehicles for rented&Taxi purposes&making as livelyhood programmes to meet their both ends.So many poor &medium level people will become jobless&incomeless peoples in India!!!So scraping policy to be indroduced after well thought &consultaions with many owners&Vehicle Association Members etc to avoid any future problems!!

സാറെ.. മറ്റ് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ പതിനഞ്ച് വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞ വാഹനങ്ങൾ ടെസ്റ്റ് കൊടുക്കാതെ വീണ്ടും അഞ്ച് വർഷത്തെ ടാക്സ് അടച്ചു ഓടിക്കുന്നു പക്ഷേ കേരളത്തിൽ വളരെ ഭംഗിയായി തന്നെ പണി കഴിച്ച് ടെസ്റ്റ് കൊടുത്ത് ഓടിക്കുന്നു.. ഈ നിയമം മറ്റ് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ രീതിയെ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിച്ചാണ് വന്നിരിക്കും ന്നത്
