    Over the years I just see a bunch of impressive but similar bionic arms, I just wish the companies would show the Ms of input to output delay on the hands, to see if we are improving in terms of responsiveness over the years. In terms of Usefulness this is already good, but I want the tech to improve enough that both tracking tech in the real world and virtual worlds will be able to give people the experience of having hands againm

    • @COVVILtd
      @COVVILtd  Před rokem +39

      We completely agree! It's tricky to state what the delay for achieving a grip is, as it varies from person to person and even between different grips. For our hand, it's around 0.5 seconds, but some grips are even quicker than that. When the user is setting up their hand in our app, they can also adjust the sensitivity of different signals to fine-tune how the hand receives inputs from their residual limb in real time. Prosthetic technology is definitely progressing and we're always pushing to be at the forefront of the industry. 🦾

    I think that in terms of human-machine integration it will still take us many years to reach a good functioning of a robotic hand. Because we don't even have a solid theoretical basis in neuroscience that allows this. We don't know how to decode nerve impulses, for example. But with Artificial Intelligence, we could at least have a hand with "self-awareness" and if it could talk and play music that would be cool too.
