How to make mouthwatering smoked beef jerky at home

  • Make a delicious batch of smoked beef jerky that comes out chewy and perfect every time. All you need is 2 pounds of lean and inexpensive beef and a great marinade.
    I make this smoked beef jerky on my Traeger Grill which maintains the perfect temperature for a low and slow cook.
    Tips for homemade beef jerky on a smoker:
    1) for slicing thin strips of meat for beef jerky, pop the beef in the freezer for two hours so it's easier to cut through
    2) marinade the sliced beef for at least 8 hours up to 24 hours to really lock in the flavor
    3) choose a lean and inexpensive cut of meat such as eye round, top round, sirloin or loin roast, london broil, or flank steak
    This is a great beginner recipe for your Traeger. Smoked jerky has tons of flavor and that great chewy texture you're looking for in a homemade jerky.
