    Thank you for your video. In 2018, I was involved in a crime of illegal detention by a friend, and was sentenced to 4 months of detention with 6 months 'probation. My sentence was completed in March 2019, and it will be the 5th anniversary of my sentence in March this year. I would like to ask, can I apply for criminal record rehabilitation in Canada in my case?

    As a Brit and all my convictions being over 15 years old and spent under the 1974 rehabilitation of offenders act would I be ok?
    Also as someone who is currently treated for anxiety and depression would that prevent me from visiting or immigrating?

    Hi, first of all thanks a lot for your videos. I was convicted and deported back in 2009, but now I got my record suspension and I also recently got confirmation of PR (applied thru express entry). What should I say at the airport in canada when they ask me if i came to canada before or when they ask if i was convicted of a crime (CBSA officers)? Thank you so much for your time

      You must ALWAYS tell the truth at the border. If you lie and are found out, you risk being banned for misrepresentation. If you have paid your dues and set the record straight, you have nothing to worry about

    Pub punch up in the UK 25 years ago and got a fine. Am I rehabilitated in Canada's eyes or do I require to go through this rehabilitation scheme?

      So I figured out an answer for you because I'm in the same boat. You can try to go into Canada and the officer at customs might clear you. But they also might not. If you file for rehabilitation and just pay the fee there is no problem. I'm personally filing for it because even though it's a little bit of work. It's totally not worth it to show up at the gates and get put right back on the plane blowing the entire trip

    What if the husband (who is a citizen of the US) has a criminal record in the USA and wife is living in Canada as a PR and wish to sponsor the husband to Canada will he be considered inadmissible and will the application be automatically rejected? what can be done?
    Can he even drive across the border and be let into Canada?
    secondly what if you were just detained but not convicted but arrested while waiting on the hearing of which you were released?

      Hi, this is a tricky question as it very much depends on the severity of the criminal record. Some past criminality can be overcome, others will require waiting for a period of time, and others can never be overcome. This link would be a good place to start finding out your options: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5312-rehabilitation-persons-inadmissible-canada-past-criminal-activity.html

    Hello, i want to thank you for your helpful video . I have a misrepresentation in the US since 2015 can i apply a study visa to canada ? Will i be admisible to canada ?

    • @canadatoptobottom
      @canadatoptobottom  Před rokem

      Hello, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. A misrepresentation ban to the US does not prevent you from applying for a study permit to Canada. You would need to disclose the ban on your application, and make sure you meet all the eligibility requirements, and have a genuine purpose of study.

    Hi, how about a person that recieve a provisional dismissed to his case 18years ago can he allowed to enter and apply a job in Canada?

    • @canadatoptobottom
      @canadatoptobottom  Před rokem

      We couldn't say for sure what the specifics of your case would be, but as it is more than 10 years ago, this would likely not be a barrier to you entering Canada now. This also depends on whether the offence was inside or outside Canada

      @canadatoptobottom  Před rokem

      Hello, sorry to hear you are having trouble in Canada. Depending on your background, it may be possible to overcome your reason for inadmissibility, but it sounds like you need to contact an immigration consultant or lawyer, as without further information and details on your case, it would be impossible to offer you any advice

    Can you make videos on sexual offences and speaclly focus on the people who got convicted in 3 country so therefore they dont come under the regime of parole borad.

    • @canadatoptobottom
      @canadatoptobottom  Před rokem

      I'm afraid we can't make videos focused on specific criminal offenses, as each case is individual, and depends on the severity of the crime and the country it was committed in. What it comes down to is what the equivalent of the crime would be classed as in Canada, and how long ago it was committed
