    really miss this guy, but he peaks and fades off too fast, didnt get to see more great performances of his.
    Even though im a fan of Ma Long, but no one can give me so much thrill and excitement when Ma Long is fighting against Zhang Jike.
    This guy is a true legend, his way of backhand brings out another new era of table tennis.

      TT Freak WTTC 2015 killed me, watching ZJK in pain on the bed telling the camera guy that he couldn’t even get up. Man, he still put up a fight against Fang Bo during all that. A ZJK-ML WTTC final would’ve been legendary, especially since it had been postponed by Wang Hao two times

      He didnt seem,he was!!in 2014 zjk won all or maybe lost once against ma long.and with injuries..Overall score was 5-1 or 6-0 in favor of zjk something like that.my favorite player of all times by far. What a personality

      George D. He was even more unstoppable from 2011 to 2013, two WTTC gold, 1 World Cup gold, and one Olympic gold. By the 2014 World Cup, people started to write him off and were hyping Ma Long. The disrespect fuelled ZJK to win in a close 7 games, silencing the doubters and giving everyone the idea that he could win the WTTC for the third time in a row. That just made the 2015 injury even worse. Man I hope he comes back even just for a retirement tour.

      @dickn.ormous1064 Před 4 lety +1

      @@jameslin5623 Ma Long is certainly hyped.Mentally he is nowhere near ZJK and his technique is below the level of ZJK.He doesn't have a real backhand loop.

    • @jameslin5623
      @jameslin5623 Před 4 lety +1

      Dick N. Ormous I agree that his technique is below ZJK’s, but I don’t fault him for that too much since not many players can match Zhang’s textbook strikes. I agree with the backhand loop point too, but I don’t think Ma Long is hyped at all. Prime ZJK’s mental game was insane and certainly better than Ma Long’s ever was, but I haven’t questioned Ma Long’s legacy or mental toughness ever since the 2017 WTTC.
