As a liberal democrat who lives in L.A., I have to say that Scott Baio is absolutely correct in everything he said. And he lived in an upscale area. L.A. has become a cesspool of the worst of human behavior. I don't blame homeless people, I blame the people who were hired/elected to run this city because they are making no progress in making any improvement. It's ridiculously expensive here and there's a constant sense of feeling unsafe. It's also super-crowded with obnoxious people and not worth the hassle. California is a beautiful state but it's sad to see what it has become. I wish Scott and his family the best in Florida.

Ditto for Chicago. I've lived in the burbs for 30 years. We used to love to go into the city for the day or an evening and now I NEVER go to downtown Chicago for anything. It's just not worth it when criminals have their run of the city and you can't take basic safety for granted in ANY part of downtown. Can't wait to leave this train wreck of a state.

Same with Milwaukee. We lived in Milwaukee county and after Obama was president and forced the equity in housing in suburbs aka welfare recipients, the crime sky rocketed..in the suburbs! Our quite neighborhood turned scary! We moved rural 11 years ago….way out side any cities and what a difference! We don’t even have a police department and a volunteer fire department and property taxes are less! No regrets!

Good for you, Scott! I left California in 2017 and haven't regretted it. It's sad because California is indeed beautiful but it's being run into the ground and you have to do what's best for your family.
As a Floridian, who has traveled to Portland, Chicago and New York, I have seen this paradigm shift where abjectness is seen as just a state of mind, and just a reality. It’s starting to creep into Florida, as well. Pretty soon I can’t imagine any states not having this.

I am 49, born and raised in San Diego county, we moved our children to Riverside county about 20 years ago to a smaller area, but it is outrageously expensive, crime is ridiculous, housing is through the roof. We are finally moving to Nebraska, my adult children and myself, where we were trying to move 15 years ago, but now we are doing it. It is really hard to save up the money to move out of California, but we are doing it. We are so excited! And we have been watching more and more people like Scott Baio who are moving their families out too. Good for them! California can continue on being the cesspool it has grown into. We want no part of it.

As a native Floridian our family welcomes your family to FL and freedom.
Less than 10yrs ago housing/homes weren't as expensive as they are now. Turns out that freedom is a very desirable thing and people from all over the country moved here to experience it. This has caused real estate in FL to skyrocket.
Some people can't handle the lifestyle here it causes them to have culture shock and they wind up either moving back to where they came from or some other state. I always tell people if FL is not for you get on 95 and follow the signs that point north.

We left CA for TN. Love TN!! We just went beck to CA and on day 2 my 17 year old daughter was chased out of a juice it up by a homeless guy and almost had to run him over!! The number of cars that passed me on the freeway going over 100 was crazy. It's just a lawless place. So sad to see this great state fall.

Word on the Street is currently watching the news reporting the crisis at the border where thousands of migrants are waiting to come. But what is amazing is seeing so many people working together to make sure that they have food and personal items. What is disappointing is that we do not see the same effort to have the same support for our American homeless. We don't see people bringing the items of need to our brothers.
They are helping people in need everywhere in our country. Reagan forced the closer of mental health facilities. We still need them.

Because of the influx of so many people over the past 3 yrs, it is pushing out those of us who have lived here for most of our lives.
We are losing employees at work because their rents are being raised at an astronomical amount, homes are out of reach for most people, home insurance is unbelievable, taxes are increasing, auto insurance ( thank you illegals driving without insurance) is increasing.

I moved out of NY 20 years ago and I did it for work, I had no idea how bad it was in NY then and cant imagine what it is now?, I moved for my new job and i was starting at $3 an hour less but after my bills were payed for the month I had OVER $500 a month more left over?????????????????????????? That's when I started to see the truth of living in NY, I will never move back
It really depends on where you live in NY. I live in rural upstate NY and my family has since 1760. We are Conservative as are most upstate and enjoy shooting/hunting, beekeeping, maple production, eating our homegrown fruits/vegetables, eggs, beef and pork. I am an Army combat vet(1st ID) a retired state LEO and have a intimate understanding of crime and it's perils. However, we aren't going to run(you only die tired), but run to where, lol. Many of the states that NY folks are fleeing to will devolve the more crowded they get and as their infrastructure is more and more strained. I do wish them well, but it takes time to establish a support network, build trust and acceptance with locals. With illegals(our problem as well) and migrating NY refugees(aka. carpetbaggers), acceptance will be a long drawn out affair. Again, good luck to everyone, make your stand wherever you can and we will see you on the "other side"...

We moved from NJ/NYC area and went down to southern Virginia. Only regret is we should have done that years ago. Life is so much better here. Fresh air. People are kind and good natured. People working in stores are friendly and helpful. The roads are cleaner. There are the 4 seasons here, hardly any snow, no shoveling. Longer growing seasons. Property taxes .... what a savings. What I pay for the year now, was what I had to save each month to pay property taxes. PLUS, here we have acres, not 50' x 100' and surrounded by nosy loud neighbors. Car insurance....is 3/4's less. It's just amazing. Like Scott said, no place is perfect. But it sure beats NJ/NYC area hands down. So glad we made the move!

It's crazy to watch California go downhill so fast due to the hands of a very few politicians. I would go to Cali once or twice a year for fun but now I travel elsewhere. So many other beautiful places you can go visit without having to put up with all the trash, filth and crime. It really is pretty sad.

It’s refreshing to see guys like him who are products of Hollywood, yet have a brain that is independent and doesn’t need to be told what to say and or do. Glad to see he cares for the future of his family. I lived and Loved Florida, but Honestly I couldn’t take the humidity. I lived in South West Florida South of Naples and the summers are more brutal than where I live now.
I live in Central Florida and love it here. Just stay out of the heat...problem solved. The late Fall and Winter months are beautiful in Florida. I lived in North Carolina and it was nice there too but I prefer Florida and actually loved that muggy hugging humidity. Great for the skin and the air is clean because Florida is surrounded by the ocean and the Gulf.
