We used to use black gel back in the day to smooth down hair. We called it "freezing gel" and it was always black in color but translucent black almost dark purple when it's actually in your hand......if that makes any sense. It was mostly used for wedding styles though and another style called "popcorn". The nostalgia đ© I wonder if they still make that type of gel. Anyway, this was in Malawi đ€·đŸââïž

Yeah it will most likely mess it up if itâs cotton or something thatâs has cotton texture but silk pillows or like a silk bonnet will not mess it up or anything because all the oils get into the pillow or bonnet a moisturizes it and dosenât make a mess!
Is there a product that will bring out those beautiful curls like in the first one, but won't leave it stiff. I live with my granddaughter and she has type 4c hair. I love it, but it's difficult to keep hydrated and knot free. I'm white, so this is a new experience for me and any help would be appreciated.

i use similar techniques to define my curls . the problem is that it frizzes quickly so i must finger coil all of them and that takes like an hour :'(
i hope if my hair would seperate and clump together without finger coiling like those videos. any advise?
You have to moisturize your hair first before applying any curly hair products to avoid frizzy curls
