  • Alas! A portable air quality meter that I can conveniently carry with me everywhere I go. In this video, I review the Atmotube Pro - “Wearable, portable air quality monitor and weather station”. This device reads and reports on Temperature, Relative Humidity (RH), PM1, PM2.5, PM10, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Barometric Pressure.
According to Atmotube, the PM Sensor within this device is MCERTS certified - “The 1st PM sensor in the consumer-grade market”. You can read more about this on their website.
This product was also benchmark tested by AQ-SPEC, Air Quality Sensor Performance Evaluation Center. The results can be found here: www.aqmd.gov/docs/default-sour...

Thank you for the review! At last, a review that brings value. I have seen so many air quality sensors reviews with people just giving opinion on them without any actual measurements or comparisons. This is what convinced me to buy this product.

Thanks for the feedback, Dan! I certainly tried my best to put this device to the test. As a whole, I still like and enjoy the use of these within my own home.

Hey Josh thanks for the video! I have an urgent need for an air monitor, but there are so many products out there. After many many hours researching the internet, I was just about to make a purchase, and then lo and behold, your video appeared on CZcams. You didn't show up anywhere near the top with searches like "best air quality monitor." I literally was thinking to myself, that I wished there was someone on CZcams who knew what he was talking about reviewing these things.
Keep up the fantastic work. I am 100% sure more and more people will be watching as air quality becomes more of an issue, your channel is passed on by people like me and posted in forums, and you learn the tricks of the trade whatever those are. Peace, God bless, and thanks again.

Thank you for the amazing comment! I certainly try my best to get good information out there. One day I hope to have this content front and center for people to see before making decisions such as purchasing an indoor air quality monitor.
Best of luck with your research! If I can be a further resource to you, don’t hesitate to reach out.

A great review, thank you so much for taking the time to do an in-depth review of the device. As an electrical engineer I also enjoyed the details on the sensors inside and a closer look at the PCB. Awesome work!

thank you. what's the PM or VOC level when they sent you the notification? Can this device down load data for the day or weeks? thank you again

I don’t recall a specific level that prompted the location. The device focuses more on the overall Air quality score.
This device saves historical data, so you can reference prior days, weeks, etc.

Hi do you think this is better for voc reading then the air thing “view plus”

    • @IAQJosh

A monumental difference between the two devices, yes! The Atmotube trends nicely with my higher end meter, so I have much more confidence in this unit, when compared to Airthings’ devices.
General disclaimer: I’m not sure what the Airthings’ devices are supposed to accomplish (e.g. recognizing spikes only, averaging out readings, etc.). Unfortunately, I’ve had no success getting anyone within their company to address my questions relating to their devices’ VOC readings.

Where do you see such a device used? Maybe a better way of putting it, what applications can this device be used, and where shouldn't it be used by an IAQ professional? Thanks for your review.

Hi Jason! While I don''t see very much use for this within the professional's workspace, I think this is an outstanding consumer device. The few areas where a professional can use this is for an idea of exposure within the varying workplaces we visit. I would of course caution a professional to use these readings as a guide only, and not necessarily make business-level decisions based on the results. E.g. Upgrading PPE based on the device data.
