Students from BASIS Independent in McLean, VA; Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology in Alexandria, VA; and Poolesville High School in Poolesville, MD square off on IT'S ACADEMIC!
The Guinness Book of World Records has recognized IT'S ACADEMIC as the world's longest-running tv quiz show. Started back in 1961, the weekly program features teams from Washington DC metropolitan area schools -- public, private, parochial, charter, urban, suburban and rural. Host Hillary Howard leads the teams through a fast paced academic competition, testing their knowledge in a wide range of subjects including math, literature, science, history and more. The high school quiz show is filmed before a live studio audience and broadcast on WETA PBS and WETA Metro. IT'S ACADEMIC is produced by Altman Productions in association with David M. Rubenstein Productions.

I'm grateful for my TJ education 40+ years ago. My highschool teachers, the curricula in Fairfax county & Virginia set me on a career in Music that sustains me to the present day. It's Academic, I applaud you for celebrating the Arts & Sciences, and encouraging students to widen their horizons.
