..wunderbare Erinnerungen an meine Jugend kommen da hoch, als ich oft in den Schulferien bei einem Bekannten im 2800er mitgefahren bin..Einer der schönsten Trucks seiner Zeit..

Had the pleasure of the 2300/2500/2800 and the daf 95 at robsons of carlisle , the 2800 was a great piece of kit, the 95 just pipped it simply because it was a sleeper, had a 3300 on demo , she was a beauty , overall this the 2800 cab was around a long time , dad loved the daf he had , certainly stood the test of time , great units in their day , love one in me garage ,😂

    Off subject here
But to driver from Blackburn I got attention off.
Just before Thelwall crossing today an I said, you want to double up.
Meaning for those that don't know.
2 wagons together in strong winds.
Creates a negative pressure, I think so very unlikely, we were going over.
Another driver clicked on what we were doing, an he joined us.
To be honest not often I say it, there are still clued up drivers out there.
Thanks to the 2 friends I met on the road today.
    My type of driver.
    God bless them.
We all just want to get home.

I worked at DAF in eindhoven in 1987. I was 18 and it was my second job as a forkliftdriver. I remember the 95 was hated by the employees. We didn't like it at all. We didn't like the looks at all. It was plane ugly and it still is. The 95 was also not as reliable as the 2800 - 3600 ATIseries. Daf 2800 - 3600 ATI was the way to go.

DAF, I know very little about driving them, but on the same gross weight 32 tons or was it 38 tons in the 1980 those dastardly DAF trucks would go past my British truck with ease. I loved the size of those Globetrotter cabs . In mid-1980,s, true or fails, heard of one hauler who wouldn't buy DAF with Leyland-DAF on the front of the motor, only in the UK. What was that ATI Badge about? Had to
look this one up, Advanced Turbo Intercooling. As always, great photos, very informative. thank you.

      Hi.
Barry B rolled up one saturday morning Middle Peak quarry Wirksworth to load in his BRAND SPANKING new 3300 Daf tractor and trailer. We all sat there green with envy. Wad broke the ice on the CB.." Nice motor Barry " Thanks said Barry, Another chirped in " 3300....Big enough...What does the ATI mean ? " Wad came straight back....." A T"&T Inside " We all piled out and went over to have a look,it was awesome. Dunns ? from Middleton by Wirksworths lorry . I Drove a 2800 " " Border Viking " at Robsons of Carlisles depot Southampton for a while,LOVED it and a 3300 that Jack Spencer Ashbourne had hired while the Foden was OFF the road. They had to prise me out of the cab.
