  • Easy, simple, fun! Make cute cabochon Rings you can sell for your small business or to enjoy for any reason! They make a great 70s throwback party gift too!
    Materials and Tools for this project are listed in the front 10 seconds of the video. The cabs I'm using are glass, 10mm Round with a heat sensitive 'something' on the inside. They are fun! I was pleased to see that these cabs were not painted with the color change material on the back of the cabochon... it's inside! These work really great for rings as well as other cute, small jewelry projects.
    I got this great little cabochon from Craftdady on Amazon! I know too cute!... I couldn't resist them!

      Awesome! It's an easy and a fun ring design, it'll take a lot of stones as well as leaves you with design options too.

    It’s 5:20 pm & I just finished watching you do the mood ring. Great! I love to watch you & I actually did one of your tutorials, & never doing it before, I successfully wrapped a 3.5 carot Opal to the directions on one of your tutorials, & turned out perfect!

      Thanks, Jeanette! Me too, I also like a four band shank... they need hammering to harden and settle them together but I think ultimately it's the same 'effort' as you'd do if weaving or wrapping the shank anyway. Thanks again!

      @michelletanner948 Hi Michelle! Most of them are flat back, but there are several that are faceted and pointy at the back ... that's called a Pavilion by the way... I did a Membership post for you on sources for small stones. Here is the link to the post, then just read down and you'll see several links to where I buy these. Have fun! Très belle vidéo je fais aussi des bijoux, en perles avec des rocailles plaqué or ça résiste mieux, ou avec des collages j'achète un joli cabochon svarowski et un sertis assortis et un plateau bague je colle avec une colle à bijoux avec des zirconium elles font vraies, là j'en ai faites une avec un fil plus fin et un en cuivre plus épais parfait, avec perles blanches et noires elles est réussie merci pour vos conseils je me suis abonnée Nadine

      Thanks, Lisa! I don't think so.... maybe color changing? They are not real stones, I think the description said glass and a resin bottom to seal in the color change thing. They're pretty fun. :D

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  Před 8 měsíci

      Thanks so much! I think it could go to 12mm for best results... if you have a large cabochon of 3/4 inch or larger, you might check out my Elton ring, that frame is suited for big chunky ring styles with larger stones...

      Thanks, Raisa, these are not stones, they are glass with a temperature sensitive material inside that changes color.
      Amazon. ;) You can search for Color Change Cabochons, mine are from Craft Daddy, I think.

    I'm not sure how the mood ring would work since its not touching the skin. But I've the idea.

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  Před rokem +1

      That was actually the great test Pamela thanks for bringing this up, the metal heats up and the mood changing cab actually responds to that as well. I submersed it in as hot of water as my hands could take to see if it would break the mood changing color and it did not so I'm pretty pleased with these it was quite the surprise I thought that they would fail too but they did not!

    How much would you sell this for with the materials you used here?

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  Před rokem

      Hi Gail, great question! These are glass, mood cabs, bare, unoxidized copper wire, as is... $20? Maybe $10? If I oxidize, polish, and seal the copper, then I'd try for $30 or $40... but these are glass craft cabs, so chances are you'd not get too much for them for the entire effort, but I could be wrong. If you use a natural stone, then $40 to $50 depending on that stone. If you use sterling and a natural stone, then it would be very dependent on the stone but I sell them in sterling for $80 with nice gems... if a very nice gemstone, then it could be well in the hundreds but I'd certainly do more than this ring style for design ... gold wire, etc... I hope that helps! I got these for some craft rings with my nieces but I LOVE them. :D Dates me back to the old Mood Ring days LOL!

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  Před rokem

      Having said that, Gail, this ring capture is worth learning too... there are options here too that work where Midway is more troublesome... very thin stones for example, are not easy in Midway because of the coiling but you can very easily snuggle them up to the center of this shank for a thin capture. I hope that helps and it's why I show and use more than one capture... stones vary and so do their needs for security. Hugs!
