Synopsis:
A story about a forbidden romance that has weathered ten lifetimes and endured a thousand years of waiting. Set in the ancient era, Zuo Xiang, an official from the Great Yan, colludes with the enemy and causes the demise of his own kingdom. Fu Jiuyun rescues the Yan princess from harm. After witnessing her people being enslaved, the princess now known as Qin Chuan makes a vow to save them as she embarks on a search for the spiritual lamp. Qin Chuan and Fu Jiuyun fall in love, but they soon discover that Fu Jiuyun is the lamp wick needed to ignite the spiritual lamp and that he will disappear along with the person who lights the lamp. They decide to sacrifice themselves to save people of the world. Qin Chuan’s cousin lights the lamp, as a result, Fu Jiuyun disappear. Qin Chuan miss Fu Jiuyun, she touches the lamp, Heaven is been moved by their cordiality, they finally meet again, and willingly embrace their fates.

I agree with you on this one thing. Zhao Lusi is such a good actress. She does so many roles so well.. such a versatile actress - The Romance of Tiger and Rose, Love Better Than Immortality,... she seems to bring out the chemistry with each Male lead
I've watched the whole series and if you're worrying that the male immortal sees the princess and not her, well that isn't the case. he doesn't mind how she looks like since he saw her for thousands of lifetimes with different faces already. he's not bothered with any face she has, but just the fact that she's the reincarnation of the girl in the painting. This also has a good ending too :))

I hate it when the character's face is not the real one (they assume someone else's face). Argh !!! I don't like it. For me it takes away the truth, the convincing feelings of the characters. It is not consistent for me. (If she is the protagonist, she should start with her face from the beginning. And not change.) I'm forcing myself here to continue watching. (
It only got better now because the male protagonist (who is an immortal), can see through her, and knows that it is her, despite the changed face. So it brought me some truth to the story.)

I understood. In my opinion it should start with the same face, the same actress from the beginning. The protagonist should not be a face that appears later. She should have had her face from the start. Not just as a maid. but as the main one from the beginning. (I have a hard time getting involved with the character because for me the feelings between the characters don't seem real. But I will keep watching.

This is the first time seeing this. I like Lusi with Wei Lu and Wang Anyu. Good chemistry and acting. I think the drama, In Blossom is a take on this, wherein the spirit of the other person lives in the dead person. I cant help but think the other person is in Lusi. Lusi should have been the main character from the get go. In any case, glad Lusi played a very good role. Shes a good actress.
