I've thrown cast nets for over 50-years...still like to see the new guys casting...but I have to say, your explanation of the hold, and they 'why', as well as mentioning the spin (about like a good golf swing) are KEY to a good cast...and FEW who put these casting videos out there EXPLAIN it...they just do it, and you don't learn anything! BIG THUMBS UP!

Thanks. The way I do it (watch my video if you want to see how I do it) requires me to turn my whole body and it gets dizzy doing it over and over. Never really thought about the spin part. Maybe I'll try this next time I'm out.

*DISCLAIMER* it’s only okay to put the Weights in your mouth if you have composite weights. I know I said lead in the video but I meant composite weights. If you have lead weights then put the rope in your mouth and it works just fine. Do not put lead in your mouth 👍🏼

After the cast net has come out of the river Creek lake or what ever I be damn if I put that nasty ass net in my mouth I pinch mine with my fingers but to each his own !!! your vedio was good but I couldn't go along with the putting the net in your mouth !!!

No word who'd have thought you'd need a cast net to cast net. Lol I've tried watching a lot of these but no one actually explains how they're thrown.
This is a good teaching video. I would just say to put the line next to the weight in your mouth, not the weight itself.

Cinching the rope on your wrist is a bad idea. If you fall overboard you don't want to be tied to all that lead. People have also been killed when the rope gets caught in a turning propeller.

When I was your age I had teeth too. Will your method still work without having any teeth? I do not want to use my gums to hold a weight in my mouth. Lotsa laughs I'm sure about this question, but if your method only works if you put it in your mouth then I can't use it and have to look for another easy method for casting my brand new 4' Betts brand casting net I've yet to use. Thanks and I hope you got a laugh out my question AND will answer it when you see it. I'll like your video if you answer my question within a month from now.

Why are your socks pulled up so high
And you don’t have to bite down on the lead, all your doing is resting the lead in your lips or teeth to get the net open. Once you get the net out in front let the lead naturally fall out. I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and have never had an issue and I hear people all the time tell me I’m going to ruin my teeth
