I drove a nyc cab for 3 years in the late 70s. They were very comfortable cars for the driver and the passengers. They had a quite steardy partition separating the driver from the dangerous passenger. The checkers of those years had a defect though. The roof was cracking at the front or rear corners above the windshield or rear window.

This cannot be 1994 since July 12th was on a Tuesday that year... it is more likely that this is from 1993...

This is ridiculous. Checker cab had nothing to do with NYC. Checker is a Chicago company, they were made in a factory near Chicago and sold to cities around the country including LA and NYC and many others. How does anybody think it was a NYC thing?

They were made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
