I don't know why, but these sound special to me. ✨️
You can hear (and see) that someone put a lot of time and effort into tuning them.
Great review.
Great review, well done. Much appreciated.
Great video👌🏻
Remember to replace the speaker grilles, they sound better that way!
YES!❤️
Welcome back
I love that classic look.
Nice review Toni as always ❤️♥️🔥👍🏾
Hi Toni, many years ago you recommended vifa Heineken speaker and bought and love it. It's been many years. Please let us know the best sounding speaker as per you now.
Vifa is still the best...
where new vid?
The sound quality of underwater love is the best
those are actually part of the autotransformer so they could match the bass driver level to the tweeter. with the production tolerance spread of the time this was absolutely necessary and not just due to cost saving measures.
Those are the 11ohm version, so no autotransformers.
@@AndrewDCDrummond Thank you for the corrections.
man you need to bring back these reviews, I keep watching the old one, there’s no other reviewer on this category that does a decent job.
Would you take a look at the JBL L75ms by any chance?
Thank you I appreciate that :)
But it’s difficult at the moment because I’m busy with uni etc
I’d love to make videos again in the future but only if I have the time for it
There are some other great reviewers out there tho who do a better job at reviewing speakers than me
Audiosciencereview, erin’s audio corner to name a few
Was hoping to see a review of the Devialet mania from you 😢
If you like the ls3/5a you should try the Stirling Broadcast LS3/5a Version 3 (version 1 had the Kef drivers, 2 had SEAS and Scanspeak, version 3 has a significantly better crossover which has to be mounted on the back panel now due to the size) combined with their AB-2 bass extenders.
😍😻🥰♥️🙏🏾👍🏾
The originally designed LS3/5as had better crossovers and thinner walled cabinets - the thicker cabinets and the cheaper crossover were a result of converting it to a production ready and more robust version. The Cicable external crossovers were an attempt to create an ultimate crossover for the ls3/5a and they reduced the distortion levels massively, creating a vastly more transparent speaker - which is even better in a thin-walled cabinet (as with my ‘best’ pair). There is still the problem of not much bass, but the Stirling Broadcast version 2 iteration has surprising levels of bass with its doped SEAS driver, and thin-walled cabinet. Pair it with the AB-2 bass extender and it is a fantastic full-range speaker - with the older Roger’s AB-1 it is also fantastic but just not as fantastic!
Hi toni! Ineed your help. Can you recommend a pair of bookshelf speakers with a very detailed and open sound, especially at lower and mid levels? My budget is up to 300€,and they need to be active
You should look at Edifier active monitors.
They‘re usually affordable and offer a good value. You also get tone controls sometimes so you can adjust the sound to your taste.
@@speakertoni2680 do you have a good recommedation of edifiers?
nice sound...
These look like the later 11ohm version. I have an early Rogers 15ohm pair with a more complex crossover and different bass driver. I also have a modern Stirling 11ohm version, in thin walled cabinet, which is probably more 'in spec'. The 11ohm has a slightly flatter, more accurate response, with less pronounced mid bass hump and a cleaner upper treble. The 15ohm has more 'magic' and presence in the midrange. Both image really well, but the 15ohm appears to have a deeper soundstage, it is almost uncanny how realistic it sounds. It also sounds subjectively deeper or more solid in the bass. But it is also brighter, which can be too much on modern, compressed pop recordings. I think the 11ohm would integrate better with a subwoofer with less bass hump. However, without a subwoofer, I find myself listening more to the 15ohm on classical/jazz/choral/vocal recordings. It just has a more cohesive, organic and satisfying sound imo.
Lebst du noch Toni ?
Hey Toni, how are you? will you make some videos again on this chanel? we miss you all :)
hi, I appreciate the comment :) I don’t think I’ll be back soon because I’m busy studying at the moment but I definitely see myself making videos again in the future at some point!
@@speakertoni2680 yayy
Jajaja 😅 Toni ya cambio tu voz te estás volviendo viejo mi Bro 👍 soundboks GO vs aiwa exos 9 😎
Gibt es einen Subwoofer den du für die Ls3/5a empfehlen würdest?
M&K MX70b works well with these 11ohm versions
What are your reference speakers now ?
a pair of speakers that I built myself
@@speakertoni2680 exactly which speakers have you built by yourself? Is it your own design?
Hi Toni, are you still using DPA 4060 mics?
hi, yess I am
Theres a new devialet speaker called devialet mania. Check it out, its battery powered.
Would you say $500 is a good deal for KEF made Ls3/5a today?
🙏😂😂😂🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
LS 35A was produced for the BBC to use them to check the quality of the BBC signal. They were used in a van and were not designed for home audio systems. Much better full range speakers and a lot less expensive so I wouldn’t waste my money on the LS35A.🧐🇺🇸🦅🇺🇦
2nd😁😁
in my opinion , they suck the life out of music , smooth and clean , yes .. but lifeless ..
