They take time to charge up and the spartans stayed still most of the time whilst charging, and had to stop if a teammate got in the way, which happened a lot because they were all on the same level and at the back meaning it was impossible to get a shot off before the fuel rods at the top back of the elites could just fire over and kill half of the spartans....
Haven't done my "couple of comments" in a while, so here goes nothing: 1. Great battle! It actually felt evenly matched (although that's likely because they are basically the same in this game, lol)! :D 2. My favorite moments have to be when Arbiter killed all the Spartans with the grenade and that drunk rocket at 2:24. xD 3. Please do some Halo 2 _exclusive_ battles! (Enforcers, heretics, or bosses)! :P

The Spartan laser and the fuel rod cannon are not equivalent. The Spartan laser has barely any sort of splash damage.
