Oh I love EVERYTHING about Reginald! His voice, his demeanour and his comedy. Definitely one of my all time favourite guests on WILTY and your chemistry together is grand!
I'm an American and the only time I've ever seen Reginald "Delicious" Hunter is when he was on Would I Lie To You on Britbox years after it aired! I immediately liked him and hoped to see him again. He exudes an innate charm. Thanks for this interview to catch up with what he's been doing.
charming, sure. funny, nope.
@@StanleyKubick1 comedy is subjective ☺️
That's my story as well! Was just wondering what happened to him.
@@joshua.910 Also, some people are just wrong. ;)
@Fide Logos There are a bunch of Reginald "Delicious" Hunter's videos on YT, for example:

There are a some close 10 minutes, including the last one, but a lot are shorter.

Best Wishes. ☮
Rob Brydon has chemistry with everyone - that's why we love him - but the chemistry was particularly strong with Mr Hunter, which made this interview both hilarious and touching.
Brydon is on the best way to become a national treasure. He is one of those people you can throw into everything, he'd even be able to charm his way out of a remote jungle.
I couldn't disagree more. Having listened to his other Spotify interviews this was s very stilted conversation with a lot of forced laughter. Altogether more superficial than the majority of his other guests. Apart from Reginald's appearance on WILTY on TV, Rob doesn't appear to know him personally. Eg, toured together etc. Rob's best interviews tend to be the ones where he knows the guest and/or he has a genuine interest in them which leads to more in depth questions and where he feels comfortable enough to express his sense of humour. This vibe, to me, wasn't present in this interview with Reginald. He has a different sense of humour to Rob.
If you listen for example to the interview with Martine McCutcheon you might see what I mean. Tamsin Greig was another interview that comes to mind where Rob was having to try harder.
@@camera2painting Maybe it was forced but if so, he's a great actor and I was totally drawn in.

Rob’s interviews are great, but I thought this was one of the less interesting ones.
Gotta love Reg! One of the greats in my opinion.
Love the show. Love Reginald D. style of humor. Britain's gain was America's loss.
Fantastic. He has the British sarcasm down to a tee unlike most American 'comedians'. Love his energy and thanks for reminding me it is worth fighting onwards
Love Delicious. Absolutely great interview this one. Get him back on wilty. You don't often see Lee Mack trying to suppress uncontrollable laughter like that. Love it Rob.
I'm in the US, and I swear... To see all my favorite comedians from my own country, I have to travel to the UK. Reg, Rich Hall, Stewart Francis...
Okay, the last one is a Canadian, but it's America's hat so it still counts.
Reginald is one of, if not my favourite comedians currently! So stocked that he’s on your show!!!!
He killed it down the Glee Club in Cardiff, was a great night.
Reg has always seemed so down to earth, respectful and respectable. Great conversation
Rob’s always got his finger firmly on the pulse!
I mainly know him from guest spots on panel shows, where he usually steals the show with the best jokes. He says things so straight but with a hint of humour and it's hilarious. He also has a great laugh.
Approx 3 or 4 years ago I was chatting via DM with Reg on Twitter. We'd had quite a few meaningful discussions, then he said to me, "Bob, can I talk to you, I want to ask you about which direction my career should take" --- Then Reg sent me his mobile number, I phoned him a couple of times, and told him what I thought. ( which shall remain private ) He was then and still is now a very gracious humble man, with his own unique style of humour. It would be good to talk to him again some time! All the best my friend! You rock!! 🥰🤠😂😎
What a delightful and insightful interview, but aw...I'm one of the wholesome audience who hasn't heard you tell your pub story and would like to!
That was lovely. Thank you.
What a joy this was!
One of the best interviews, if not the best, so far in this wonderful series. I do not know anything about this man but will now research his work. Thank you for an enjoyable timeout from life's demands.
Laughed out so loud at this one! 😂
Oh man, I love Brydon's style on these interviews, and it's so obvious that these two know and love eachother a lot.. But also Reginald is just such a star, his 'down-home-folksy' style, using americanisms that are so direct, eg his cousin who's a major love 'em and leave 'em type of guy "You just do what you gotta do" being the advice, when he asked how he could sort his life out and pay for the kids...
Reg D Hunter legend! 🤣🤣
Love to go to the South of America with Mr hunter would be an eye opener, and Rob should ha e a massive TV show doing these interviews, brilliant
Reginald D. Hunter is the MAN!
I would love to see Richard Herring, Rob Newman and Adam Buxton on your podcast as well as Greg Davies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think it would be hard to fit them all in frame
"This is my mate... Bit of a twat." 🤣🤣🤣
Very warm chat. I always wonder if the comedians that come here from overseas and make it big like Reginald, Henning Wehn, and Catherine Ryan, are as well known and loved in their own countries? But what I wonder most is what 'D' stands for?
I'm from the U.S., so I can't speak for the other 2, but I found Reginald D. Hunter watching British shows on CZcams. I don't think anyone here really knows him. It's too bad. They're missing out. By the way, it would be great if the "D" actually did stand for delicious! Supposedly it's the kind of name that helps a guy get a good job! Lol
Wehn isn't a name in Germany. At least not on a national level. There are many reasonably successful local comedians, especially around the carnevale equator, which are lesser known in other parts. Which isn't unusual for comedians over here as the different regions have a different humour. Few comedians are able to master getting laughs everywhere while not letting their act get too broad.
Often german comedians are radio moderators rather than tv personalities (radio operates more often on state level, tv is mainly federally organized).
But Wehn does english comedy anyway, tailored for english audiences. A big part of his persona is to be German, which wouldn't get that many laughs in Germany.
@@Schmidtelpunkt Yeah, a big part of his shtick is playling up British stereotypes of Germans, which is hardly going to land for a German audience.
I'm fairly sure he gave a jokey answer to what the 'D' stands for in one of his QI appearances. It was really funny.
BTW, the real answer is Darnell.
@@Elwaves2925 I suspected it might be a stage name but now I know. Cheers
Top bloke is Reg lucky that the comedy bug bit him and he decided to stay in the UK for us to enjoy his gift.
Always look forward to Rob's podcasts! 😎🎸🤘
Please pass our love and respect on to #ReginaldDHunter and cheers for uploading pet
Love to Reginald from Mexico 💕
i think what his mother said to him as he left was beautiful. This interview was not the best I have seen from Rob or Reg. Great artist both love their work!
I love you Rob Brydon and Reginald
I love Reginald Delicious Hunter! Is WILTY still making new series? He's gotta come back on if so. 😃
Reg is fantastic!!
Reg seems such a nice genuine bloke and very funny. And I'll always think his middle name is Delicious, even if it's supposedly a lie. :)
Rob, another great interview with a great guest. I would love it if you could interview as Uncle Bryn, that would be hilarious !!
So proud that Reginald D. Hunter is an American export. 🇺🇸
Ta Rob, you pick the best folks 👍🏽🙋🏽♀️
Reg, you're my favourite Yank. 🙏🏴☠️
Absolutely brilliant always love you both, top top comedy
Thank you!¡! That was absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
A very likeable person as well as being a funny guy.
Loved this! Great interview, very natural 😀
I wish Reginald was on TV more. I really enjoyed his docu series on the BBC.
Absolutely brilliant
In addition to Would I Lie to You? He has also been a laugh riot in his appearances in Have I got News for You?
Reginald D Hunter is a awesome hanmam, anytime he does a TV show or does comedy stand up I will watch.
He the Man...!
Lovely talk.
Superb!
This is just amazing sharing your emotions with you mam ......just AMAZING :)
Wonderful :-)
Should've introduced him with his proper name of Reginald Delicious Hunter of course
This was great..always liked Reginald..very funny interview as well!
I am so intrigued by Reg, and his mother must've been one IRON LADY.... dang...!
Awesome interview. Silly... but awesome!!! :)
This was brilliant
Reginald Delicious Hunter 😳👀
Reg's story of his first gig?
I was on tour with a show on the other side of the country when I had a Pager message (it was a while ago) came from our P.A. back home.
"Ring your brother. Your father is dead."
So, what to do?
The show must go on!
Nice interview!
Yes!!
He said a pub in Birmingham Rob, not London
RDH has the most beautiful hands. Capable and expressive.
I've been trying to get the number 420 (likes) on youtube videos for 12 months thankyou Rob. also great podcast
I so wish Rob would introduce him as Reginald Delicious Hunter 😆
Good stuff
Great interview. Very bubbly and charming throughout. Just skimmed the comments, did no one else feel some genuine tension at the very end tho? 😮
no thats part of his stand up about Brits and sub text
Great chat.
Would love Paul Foot on one of these.
Love you Reg d
He vanished off the tele, I love the guy.
ah beautiful!
The D stands for Delicious.
I was just trying to think what name he gave on QI for another comment here. If only I'd scrolled down a little.
Glad I'm not the only one that remembers that hilarious bit.
Only ever seen him on QI but brilliant every time.
Reg the ledge!
I'm not watching the video, I'm just here for the delicious comments.
So funny
Reginald Delicious Hunter!
Man gets named Reginald and he's pretty much destined to move to England
Hey Reginald!!! Have you named any of your shows "Delicious"? If not, You should. ❤️ ya from Michigan, USA! 💋
The "D" stands for delicious. 😂🤣
He's like a funny Lenny Henry
Renumeration? Remuneration l think Rob.
Ironic to hear them bang on about "when you're feeling bad do something to make others feel good, don't focus on you", then in the next breath he talks about his Mum refusing to hug him as she's sulking because he's following his own life path. Maybe tell Mum to stop being self indulgent and think of others.
The D in his name stands for Delicious
Reg could always act like a comedian.............oh..............yes, I see :D
Reginald’s voice sounds just like American ‘telephone prank call comedian’ Willie P. Richardson’s.
Ahhh..reg 'delicious' hunter..😊
I want to know why Reginald seems to have disappeared from british TV. Has he moved away or something?
Reginald 'Delicious' Hunter.
You put a right tragic spin on the idea of touring Rob. Don't put him off!
He sounds like 50cent
See if he knows when he will achieve that goal.
Don't make me respect you, Brydon!
Is it just me or is Reginald D. Hunter the most kickass anime name ever?
mORE CHUCKLE BROTHERS!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is this delicious?
That's what separate,s Billy Connolly from everyone else different show every night twice most days for 50 years.
Why are the complete interviews only on spotify? That’s so annoying.
Delish....means tasty
This interview isn't as good as others on Spotify. Rob isn't as able to perform to Reginald, be funny, do impressions relate his own experiences as he does with his guests that he knows personally or that he has a more genuine interest in. He likes a mutual admiration vibe to get the most out of an interview. Reginald is answering questions that are fairly superficial but he isn't interested in them which results in the forced laughter from both men. The whole interview on Spotify is longer but doesn't add to this version content wise. Reginald is someone for Rob to interview and he probably hoped for a more forthcoming interaction but the mutual respect and interest in the conversation that comes across in other of Rob's podcast guests isn't obvious in this one.
This put me in mind of an interview that Rob did with Al Murray where he was almost competing to be the funnier. Again, not as successful as others he has done.
