Wide nylon bridal tulle is durable and cheap. Fine quality European silk and cotton types are delicate and expensive. I've seen synthetic white and ivory bridal tulles at fabric outlets and factory stores for $0.50 per yard on sale. They're easy to embroider.

Love this! I always have lots of tulle from the type of sewing I do and never realized that this is possible!

I tried a firm water soluble stabilizer from sulky, and it works great, but everything seems to stiffen up and lose shine when I wash the stabilizer out, and the thinner stabilizer just jams...any suggestions? :)
