- Jeep Gladiator Electrical Gremlin Caused by a Loose Sensor? Apparently there is a sensor that is associated with the auto stop system in the Gladiator! Could this sensor be the cause of my Jeep Gladiator electrical gremlin? Let's see.

Awesome videos
Great channel. Watching from the UK 👍🏻🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Hey Sgt. Thanks for watching 👍
Rob, the 2nd battery is under the fuse box under the hood.
Also the 2nd batt still is providing power even with the neg removed like you did. The extra neg cable that connects to the main neg cable (13mm nut) is still proving if the vehicle a ground path.
To reset or disconnect the batt, you must first disconnect the extra cable, then the main cable. Keep the 2 seperate.
Good idea to charge the aux battery separate if you are having issues. Do this a couple ways. But easiest is - charger neg to batt neg and charger pos to post “1” on the fuse panel (under the lid, there are 8 pos posts with cables bolted) (post 1 is the first one towards the front of vehicle.
There are a few dealer procedures that can be done to test the relay system between the 2 batteries, as well as draws on the aux battery. If you are draining or losing connection of the aux battery, you will have issues like you are having.
Thanks for the info 👍
Wont hurt to give it a try...hi from Puerto Rico the caribbean.
Yup. A simple solution if it works🤔
Never hurts to reboot or R&I. I've lost count of the stuff I've "fixed" that way. It'll be very interesting to see if this works, but like you said, don't hold your breath. Comments from the UK & Puerto Rico; I'm from Nebraska, sorry, that's all I got 😜
Lol!! Lots of folks from all over here👍
It’s not a bad thing that the auto stop/start doesn’t work. Your engine will last longer not being constantly shut off and restarted also.
Absolutely 👍
If it didn’t solve the problem, check your brake/accelerater peddle assembly. For what I believe there are sensors there too. No cables that run through the fire wall. I had sort of the same issue when I had my 03 Jeep Liberty with a manual. I had to press the clutch in to start it up. After a year that sensor went bad and had to be replaced.
Thanks for the tip 👍
Did you check that all fuses are well seated in the box? I just bought a JL Rubicon and all of them needed a push to click.
Yup, I sure did👍
🤞it takes care of it
Hope so....🤔
I just wanted to say since watching your videos my start stop feature stopped working and if I go into the settings it just says battery charging but there’s no warning lights on or anything truck runs fine so I’m gonna kind of leave it alone quite happy about this
Hmmm..where did you find that in the settings?
Aloha and good 🌟 afternoon 🔅 Rob. Since you traded your initial Jeep JT with your mom, you had no issues with your 2nd Jeep JT. You mentioned the possibility of the failure to the Auxiliary Battery as the possible cause to your electrical problems to your Gobi Jeep JT. If this should arise in your new Mojave, you'll know on what to do from your past experiences from your Gobi Jeep JT. Great video 📼 Rob.🎨🌚😇🦄🌟🔅📼🐕🐫🐪🙏💪👀👌✌🤜🤛👏👍🤙👉🏼👈🏿🐶🐕
Hope there’s no issue like that😬
The good thing is it didn't cost anything to try. Anything with 12 volts or lower can be very sensitive if the connectors aren't fully seated. If this doesn't do it, you might try load testing the aux battery and checking the terminals on it as well.
We’llsee🤔🤔
something so simple and stupid, it wouldn't surprise me but fingers crossed. when i first got my gladiator as per recommendation of others i seated my fuses, all were so loose they were almost about to fall out. sadly that wasn't what made the base radio suck so much lol
I hope so! That would be an easy fix!!🤔
Rob left side of the steering wheel for buttons in the enter button in the middle scroll through the buttons I believe on the left and you’ll come to that menu
I’ll definitely have a look!! Thanks for the info👍👍
Did not know there was a senser
Me either!!😬
One more time. The second battery under your main battery is for the auto start stop. Usually the root cause.
Yup...I believe so🤔
Agreed
I think it's fixed!
I hope so🤔
Did that work permanently?
Seems so 👍
@@robmotiveplus I guess I’m about to do the same. Been to the dealer 4 times. Replaced aux battery 2 times and charged it 2 times haha. Hopefully it works!
Sorry…I thought this was a different video! It didn’t work. I actually traded that truck.
@@robmotiveplus oh thanks Rob! So they never could figure it out. Did they replace that sensor or you traded before it got to that ?
Let us know🤔
Lol… this is like the third video I’ve watched of yours and I have to ask, why do you film and post a video when you’re looking at something for the first time? I think the other one was about the auxilery battery, I was trying to figure out how to get to mine and watched the whole thing to the end and you never even got to it. You’re just like “well, it’s under there somewhere, see ya later”
Try looking at that book that came with the truck👍
✌️✌️✌️✌️
ever thought about using a scan tool,,, sometimes they can find a more direct fix to a issue when it pops up,,, just a option,,,
I have. Just shows the check engine code.
let's cross our fingers
I would keep the auto stop...turned off
I do when I remember. Funny thing is, it will even throw an error after it’s turned off🤔
Dont call it a Gremlin! That car didn't have a very good reputation! Call it a Pacer. 🤔
I’m sorry...I’m way too young to know of such a beast....😬
@@robmotiveplus OUCH! 😃
Rob does not know the difference betwween a sensor and a battery terminal. This is like a cook telling you how to fix your computer.
Semantics! Did you understand the concept?
@@robmotiveplus" Semantics" Are you Kidding! So you post videos with incorrect information and your best reply is semantics. How about knowing what your talking about. using proper terminology. So, some kid watches your video and needs a new battery terminal , He goes to his local part house asks for a Sensor. Parts Guy says what sensor Map, Cam shaft TPS sensor which sensor. Kids says I don't know some guy named Rob that makes youtube video's called my negive battery terminal a sensor. Very educational Bob or was it Rob well it's all just semantics RIGHT!
This is an entertainment channel Rick…not an educational class. If you need precise terminology to understand, perhaps you are in the wrong place? (Robert works too..or Sir👍)
