For those of you who weren't around in the 60's it would be hard to describe the change the Beatles brought. Up until then music was so-so. When the Beatles came around society changed drastically. Fistfights at school became non-existent. People were all of a sudden happy. Their music brought a feeling of happiness to everyone. Even grouchy folks became somewhat happy. It's too bad everyone couldn't have lived back then to experience the aura of it all. Thank God for the Beatles, and Paul.
Mozart,Wagner,Beethoven where not so,so but I understand the context and meaning behind your comment. The Beatles came around in a very conservative time and started something that can hardly be explained unless you lived in that time. What a band.
Charm became a worldwide obsession. People were on a truth quest. Global poverty levels were lower than any time in human history. There was a sense of optimism despite Cold War fears. Our parents and grandparents had survived what they had believed to be the antichrist at the time, Adolph Hitler. We were the children of their PTSD wanting to break free from their desire for calm conformity. New fads and opportunities abounded. The surf scene was born. Drag racing came of age. Electric music became a beacon. Many thought that a new era of peace and happiness was around the corner. There was still a strong sense of Christian morality standards that kept runaway evil in check. Movies were becoming more and more immersive; the auteur director was born. Entertainment became even more worldwide. Radio morphed into counter culture revolution. Music was seen as prophetic. A new royalty emerged-the rock star. People began to equate beauty with truth. This was the newness of the 60’s and I was there in Southern California when it was glorious.
@@markhenri1131 I agree, I was there in England and felt it at the time, we have been going retro grade for the last few decades and people buy into the crap because they know no better. It's like we are living in a real live version of Pepper Land that the Blue Meanies have conquered.

It's not possible to hear every single song you love from this man in a single concert! There are solo albums and Wings. Even if it was all Beatles lineup you would only 1/10th of them or less! Thank you Girl, From me to you, I'll get you, Ask me why, I Should have known better, Happy just to dance for you, and I love her, Things we said today, Tell me why, If I fell, Michelle, Girl, Nowhere man, Paperback Rider, Day tripper and that's just some of their earlier stuff you rarely hear. And I left some out. Granted John would be needed on some or most of this stuff but we miss it nevertheless. Point is Paul does a very good job in his concerts and we love him and always will!
What was so great is that he played songs from maybe all of the Beatles and Wings and Ram albums plus a couple of his later songs. But he knew what the fans were there for. When I saw him he played over 3 dozen songs - full length, no shortcuts, no 'medleys'. From 'Meet the Beatles' to Sgt Pepper, Abbey Road, the White album, and then his later bands. He didn't need the money, that's for sure - he did it because he knew the fans wanted to hear him. He must be one of the most beloved performers who has ever been.
Someday the children in that audience will be telling their grandchildren that they saw a Paul McCartney concert. And it still will mean something to those young ones.

@@prof.emanuelpaiva I was fortunate enough to see Sir Paul in concert a couple of years ago. I've been to dozens of concerts, seeing many of the greatest acts from the 60's and 70's. Sir Paul's concert was my biggest thrill. He was great. He played for 3 hours, and every song he played was a hit. And yet, when it was over, you said, "but he didn't play this! He didn't play that! Their songs are just very well written. They either tell a compelling story, convey an image or are just plain fun. Tunes like that stand the test of time. So even though you were born in the 80's, that's probably why you love them !
I count of my fortunes to be born in the mid-50s, as a result I had the glorious childhood of being a fan from the beginning. I remember sitting on my dad's lap in February of 64 on that Sunday night when the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan, watching Hard Days Night at the movie theater, buying my very own Beatle boots, paying $5 in '67 at the drug store for Sgt. Pepper, trading Beatles cards, falling to sleep with the Magical Mystery Tour album on, living the nightmare of their breakup, and watching the Dolphins/Patriot's game on Monday Night Football and hearing Howard Cosell make that horrible announcement in 1980. and hearing of George Harrison's passing on my son's 2nd birthday. I still have that Sgt Pepper album, those Beatles cards and a lifetime that I can associate the time and place where I was whenever I hear one of their songs. I have seen Paul five times, and Ringo once. I guess I'm a fan, you could say

About the only thing we didn't get was the fish and finger pie. I had to look that up. But there is a universality about their songs that made them enjoyed all over the world, and will probably continue for generations to come
Great to see fans of all ages enjoying themselves to such a great song. Penny Lane is about 8 miles from where I live and I'm so proud of Paul making it such a landmark - John was equally good in promoting Strawberry Fields.

So glad I was alive when the Beatles first appeared in 1961. I was only 8, but the change they brought was absolutely phenomenal! You had to be alive at the time to understand how brilliant they were! They will never be forgotten-never. Hard to believe it’s 63 years ago. I know this clip happened several years ago, but Paul is still performing albeit occasionally. Can anyone think of any bands today that will still be playing in 2086 or any of its members like Paul or Ringo
One of the best melodic voices of the history of Pop Music. It´s always a pleasure to listen to Paul Mc Cartney. Thank you so much for this very good nostalgic moment, Sir Paul.
2:48 is a cute moment if I assume that a father becomes nostalgic and returns to his childhood and standing next to him...his son watches him becoming a child again. Thank you Paulie...you have made billions of lives happy. God bless you and your eternal Penny Lane.
I couldn.t agree more my friend ...I grew up listening to the beatles...I remember the first time I heard them on the radio..back in 1966...I.ve been a gan and followed them throughout their music lives...and still do ... their music is timeless...songs that can being 100.000 people together regardless of race ..religion or anything else ....Paul McCartney wrote songs that he gave to other bands and artists to start their career...Bad Finger comes to mind...I his number one hits that he wrote for the beatles and wing.s. stayed on the charts as number one hits for a total of almost three years .. in a row..no other artist can say that...I was fortunate enought to see him in concert in Vancouver B.C. exactly 40 years to the day that the beatles performed at Empire Stadium there ..64.000 people there ages ranging for 6 to I.m sure the late eighties..rocking...crying .. screaming..not just because it was Panl McCartney...but for a moment in time me and everyone else there were transported in time to a time when those songs changed the world...changed life...I quote Putin....he learned to speak english by listening to bootleg Beatles records(you can see that on Paul McCartney live in red square video.). Their music and Sir Pauls..will never ever go away ...unlike this rap crap of today.....which is nothing more then a bass line that sounds like a cat trying to cough up a hair ball...and lyrics that degrade females...telling people to kill the cops ...ete.....and won.t be sent to the moon like the Beatles music was on a Apollo mission...LONG LIVE THE BEATLES MUSIC..
Glad I was able to take my 91 year old mother to see Sir Paul. It brought us back to the mid 1960's when we were a young family and enjoying the Beatles in their heyday. Incidentally, my dad was in the military and we lived in Morocco for a few years. There was no tv to watch but we had the radio and albums, the Beatles and other artist to fill the air waves. I remember when the movie Help came out, the theater was standing room only where it seemed like the entire military base was in attendance. Those were happy days.
Always humming or singing this song when I'm depressed or something when I'm euphoric. It is a habit with me all my life. I love it.I love these wonderful guys.
The greatest happy song of all times ! If you ever lose hope, listen to it. It will give you back a smile and the will to live... Penny Lane - wrote by Paul Mac Cartney, universal genius
A few years back I took my young niece to a McCartney concert and he played so many of the old Beatle tunes with the band shown in this video. She absolutely loved it. I did too. These songs are timeless.
I was born in Liverpool in the ‘50s minutes away from Penny Lane. I’ve lived in the US most of my life but I feel like I’ve come home every time the train pulls into Lime Street Station! A beautiful city that the Beatles put on the map !
I still remember being 8 years old when "Penny Lane" first sounded out on the radio and remembering the crazy days of watching Ed Sullivan when I was 5. Even then you knew how much more grown-up the music was. "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields" were the songs of the late winter and springtime 1967, before Sgt. Pepper hit like a bomb in June.
I was 11 years old and memories probably one of the best summers of my life we here in the UK. Days out from dawn till dusk with no worries. An age of innocence indeed..
I was born in 1965 and The Beatles were quite literally the soundtrack to my life. I remember being a toddler and soaking in the music, culture and magic.
Cuando comencé a escucharlos tenía 9 años, ahora a mis 68 sigo emocionandome con cada tema Paul y Jhon Lennon en mi corazón, por siempre y aún después.
It's really exciting to see the union of several generations listening, singing and "playing" together, the beautiful little boy. Only Beatles can do that!!! Too much emotion.
The pure joy in the audiences is soo emotional It's hard to describe the immense impact The Beatles had on our world their music brought happiness to people's lives
I have to say that their music is different. Right now all the pop stars have okay music but after time people forget it. But the Beatles have something different. When they sing almost everyone remembers it. And pop stars may have good experience but the Beatles have more feeling for their music! It's sad that a lot of people that are born in the 20 are more into pop. Like I was more into pop until my grandfather showed me this. Now I am trying to become something like the Beatles. All I want to say to the Beatles is thank you for bringing this world so much beautiful and heart warming music my grandfather has respected you guys for a long time :)
Not just kids, travisfrombakersfield...every age, every race, the full socioeconomic spectrum. Whenever I see one of these videos I weep from beginning to end (if you haven't seen Carpool Karaoke with Paul McCartney, then you're in for a treat), not just from my own wonderful memories that The Beatles created/enhanced, but seeing how so many people are affected in the same way 50 years later. Kids with their parents and grandparents, teenage girls still giggling on their Paul crush, fellow professional artists staring up with complete and unabashed love and jealous free admiration (Billy Joel at 0:33), everyone singing along and just SMILING from ear to ear. I have been to many concerts where a lot of the audience is hesitant to let go and sing and dance around, but I doubt anyone fortunate enough to have seen shows like this (or...The Beatles when they were performing together!) was sitting down and just clapping in tempo all embarrassed. GOD we were lucky to have them. A one world government would only work had The Beatles been in charge of it! HA!
I was fortunate enough to see the Beatles in concert at the Buddakan in Tokyo in July 1966. My sister was celebrating her 16th birthday and our dad got her two tickets to see them. He told her she could take anyone she wanted. She took her little brother.

The most incredible composer of popular music if all times. His bass lines are absolutely magic... comparable with the giant componsers of 'classical' music.
August 2023 still listening this wonderful music. Thanks Paul!!!
May 2024 andlistening.

Penny Lane が愛されていることを証明している。
Paul のメロディーは最高にハッピー‼️
The greatest happy song of all times ! If you ever lose hope, listen to it. It will give you back a smile and the will to live...
Penny Lane - wrote by Paul Mac Cartney, universal genius
Paul and the Beatles are just magic like no other. So glad I lived through that era.
So True
Diese Songs werden ALLES! überdauern! Ich sage einfach DANKE!
Performed beautifully.. And to see the audience reaction to a Beatles classic was phenomenal
A few years back I took my young niece to a McCartney concert and he played so many of the old Beatle tunes with the band shown in this video. She absolutely loved it. I did too. These songs are timeless.
This music is so magic-look at how happy the people are-thank you God for the Beatles!
No one could even come close to replacing the one and only Paul!
This song tells such a lovely story. Such joy. ❤️
I was born in Liverpool in the ‘50s minutes away from Penny Lane. I’ve lived in the US most of my life but I feel like I’ve come home every time the train pulls into Lime Street Station! A beautiful city that the Beatles put on the map !
It's impossible not to like this and sing along! Just fantastic!
Not to take anything away from McCartney, but his band are brilliant musicians as well.
Watching this timeless treasure in 2021, amid a pandemic....and shedding a tear, i don't know why!!! The Beatles FOR EVER AND EVER! 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🎸🎸🎸🥁🎶🎵
Me being a The Beatles absolute fan for forty years seeing new generations liking this music is awesome!!! Thanks a lot for posting!!
Paul is a song writing genius and put together with another song writing genius John and you have magic that will live forever.
It's amazing how the audience ranges from very young to old and everyone is enjoying one of the greatest musicians ever to walk the earth.
I have so much love for this man! I wish I could see him live. He's very special to me!
the show it's amazing. I see in Brazil once.
natalieb16 Everyone in this world loves Paul. Literally Blows my Mind!
John Echterhoff He's just amazing, I have booked to see him live at the Liverpool echo arena in May! Excited is not the word!
natalieb16 Seen him twice and off to see him the 28th May in liverpool woo! If you can go see him he is awesome live
godlyelf That it when I am seeing him in Liverpool :D
Three generations of fans! Magical!
It's really exciting to see the union of several generations listening, singing and "playing" together, the beautiful little boy. Only Beatles can do that!!! Too much emotion.
The pure joy in the audiences is soo emotional
It's hard to describe the immense impact The Beatles had on our world
their music brought happiness to people's lives
is so nice to see, so much people having fun with a song!
I'm born in 2003 and I love the beatles! I dont really like the music of my generation. The singers today are never as good as the beatles.
Nice memory mate
Un groupe INTEMPOREL et légendaire ok pour tout public. Les BEATLES ont inspiré beaucoup de groupes anglais après leur passage génial sur la planète ! Friendly from France ❣🙋♀️
Unforgotten my time ❤❤❤ 🎙🎸🎶🥰♥️💙❤️greetings from München Daggi 😊
No words good enough to explain my love and feelings for this genius and the other Beatles. Rave on forever .
Pleased you included Buddy Holly!
There are 2 members of the greatest band there ever was left, I hope Paul and Ringo live forever
i love this song and shots of the audience singing along
So nice too see people smiling and happy that’s what Beatles music did all the time
The Beatles.....making the world a better place since inception. They had something for everybody, not just a certain group.
What a great song. Impossible not to love it. Looks like the band is having a ball playing it...
He is such a great performer who is very underrated! Hats off to Sir Paul Mcartney for bringing the the Beatles back to life in his concerets!
Yes for those not around in the early sixties it really was magical , John ,Paul , George and Ringo magic. I was 20 in 1960 , living in liverpool, and the boys lit up my life. And I'm still listening to thier brilliance.
So many people happy listening too, and watching a real super star. A man who has penned many classic and unforgettable songs, a master of his trade along with Lennon, Harrison and Ringo, a band who sang their songs in clarity so you could understand every word, unlike some so called stars.
Yo prendo los clásicos y quien me da mi lana ya debo 2mensualidadea de el camión de valores
I am in tears 😭
Absolutely fantastic. My favourite Beatles song - beautiful melody, the melancholy and that piercing trumpet at the end.
Thank you Paul! And Simon
Brings tears of joy every time...
Just look at the happiness in the audience of all ages
