This video is still helping to save people money! I was able to follow your easy step by step and repaired this myself. I’m a 70 year old widow. Thank you and God bless! 🙏
Nice work and thank you for your kind, affirming comment!
One additional tip, when you have the seal in the top slot, don't push the outer edge of the seal down, but lift it up. I installed it over and over again, pushing the outer edge down, but the toilet kept leaking. Finally, I tried lifting it up and it worked like a charm!!!
Yes installing the seal for the first time is tricky, and this video did not highlight how easy it is to mis-install that seal. It is easy to push the seal down too far because proper installation is not to push the seal to the very bottom, but to install the seal in a groove just above the bottom.
Fuck no way. I ended up installing a whole new seal and flusher assembly in between toilet bowl and seat because of this.
Another widow here, deeply grateful that you gave simple, easy to follow instructions! Thank you so, soooooo much!!!
Oh!!! Thank you so much!!! I have searching for this for many days and finally found the exact what I want!
Your a life saver ! I'm a widow & thanks to you I did it all by myself !!!!
I love that comment! So glad I could be of help!
Just wanted to let you know you did a great job at explaining how to fix the problem. It helped me out a lot. The numbered steps made it really easy to follow. Again, great job.
Thanks. I'm glad it was helpful. Best to you!
I second that opinion.
The exact info I need! Thanks!
The fact that you explained the difference between the two seals was really helpful. I'd probably see the difference between the two and think I bought the wrong one! Thanks for that
Me too! Thank you!
Outstanding! Great video & tutorial. Many thanks
Thank you SO much!!
Thank you for posting this! I got the wrong size ring *and* put it on wrong, then noticed my toilet was a Mansfield, so I went back to HD and just bought a whole replacement tower. Couldn't get the old one loose, but I could tell on the replacement piece where the ring was supposed to go and just hacked the fix by flipping the old ring upside down and reinstalling it. Worked like a dream! I've kept the replacement piece since I'll probably need it one day, but this was a very lucky solution on a busy Christmas Eve --thanks again!
Way to stay with it! Merry Christmas!
Thanks buddy! I was going to replace the whole damn toilet.
Yeah, I'm glad you didn't do that. Happy flushing!
I almost did the same thing, too! But I didn't thanks to this awesome video...cheers Manly Moments!
😂😂😂
Thank you very much for taking your time to do this easy to follow video. It is extremely helpful and I love how you do the steps. I noticed this video was made 4 years ago but it is still very helpful. People will continue to watch it.

Whoo hoo!!! Thank you. I did it. Thank you for mentioning the grove that the rubber has to slide into!!!😊
Thank you ! Great job!
THANK YOU! It worked like a charm!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I started having problems with my toilet handle a day after I put a Clorox bleach tablet in my tank. Apparently, those things are known for speeding up the deterioration of any rubber parts in the tank. This video saved me time & money. I’m terrible with hands, but your step-by-step instructions made it so easy. Thank you.
You sound like me. If I can do it, anyone can. I'm glad it worked out for you!
Wow I just put one of those tablets in my tank and now have this problem
Omg I’m sooooo grateful for you making this video!!!! 🙏 Thank you sooooo much!!!

Thanks for the easy to follow video!
Bravo! Thanks!
this problem has been baffling me for months. Thanks
Thank you for this video. Very simple, clear and fixed my ssue in about two minutes.
Thanks dude!
Great video! Thought I had to replace the flushing mechanism inside the toilet and was ready to call my plumber. This did the trick! I should probably now replace the small gasket on the center tower.
This saved me money!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Thank you for all the easy steps. Fixed my mom’s toilet. She’s 82 and was having a hard time using the flush handle.👍😁
Dude, I replaced a handle that broke because it was hard to flush. I thought it was just old age but I broke the new one, too. Ended up being this flush tower gasket. My home depot had the replacements for $2. I bought 3 and fixed my 3 toilets. THANK YOU!
Good to hear. Nice job!
Great video. I was so happy to fix my toilet! Your steps were so easy to follow!
Terrific! Thanks for the positive comment!
Excelent video thank you my friend
Solved my problem, thanks!
This video was amazing. My husband couldn't fix the problem and was going to buy a whole new toilet! I found your video and got the rubber seal for less than $2. Worked like a charm. No tools required!
Thanks for the positive feedback, Veronica! Glad to help you save some money.
Thank you! GREAT GREAT video!!💪🏾 I did it!!!

OMG, you saved me wife's wining. Thank you Sir. Keep great video coming.
Thank you so much for the video!!! That was extremely helpful!!
So glad that it worked for you. Nice job!
Outstanding instructions! Easy fix because of this video! Thank you!!
I'm glad it worked for you! Way to go!
Great video, I finally figured it out. At first it wasn't quite sealing correctly, but then I re-watched your video where you said just place the seal over the ridge, flush with the thing. Yup, it worked. Basically put the new seal as high up as it will go, just under the top ridge.
Nicely done!
You’re Very helpful and informative.
Thank you!!!! Numbered steps were great. If all DIY videos were this easy I could save a lot of money. Fixed my toilet, works great!
Thanks, Sarah. Such a positive, affirming comment. Love it!
You did a great job with your video... I had this problem a long time ago and now I know how to fix it.
Thanks for the positive comment. Glad you found this helpful!
Thanks! Great video.
Thanks!
Thank you so much dude. Content like yours is what makes CZcams great.
Great comment. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video. I am a 53 year old woman who loves to save money anyway I can. CZcams is my go to for doing that and you definitely saved me some money this time. This was an extra easy repair. Thanks again.
Extremely helpful & an easy fix! Thank you!!
cmb51504 Awesome! Way to go! Thanks for the affirming comment!
Yay! Thanks to this video, I was able to fix our very difficult to flush toilet. (Wife had to use both hands!) Gasket cost $2 and it REALLY did take about 5 minutes.
Helpful video! There are also written directions on the back of the packaging for the new flush valve seal. The one thing to be sure of is to make sure that you put the seal in the top ridge. Because I originally put mine down in the lower one and then it was running without being flushed! Feeling accomplished!
Thank you for this comment! I didn't know what I did wrong. You answered my question. I put it on the bottom ridge. I hadn't even noticed there was more than one ridge.
Thanks for your comment, Jenny! I too put the seal under the lower ridge and toilet kept running! Moved it up and it seems to be fine now! It may or may not have helped that my cat was present when I reset the seal!
Thank you for this comment! I was going crazy thinking the fix didn't work because the toilet kept barely running when full. After moving it to the top ridge, problem solved!
Same!
Extremely helpful. Just solved my problem.
Terrific! Glad you found it helpful. Happy flushing!
Thanks so much! My handle was becoming harder and harder to flush over time and I ignored it for too long. Your guide fixed the issue and I feel an immense relief in resolving this long-standing problem.
Thanks, ArgentFox! So glad to help you get rid of this nuisance in your life!
Thank you soooo much. You have save me some money that I don’t have. This piece cost $2.35. I’m so appreciate of your video.
Truly appreciate the science my guy! I spent over $30 in the past 3 days replacing toilet handles (they're $6.50 apiece @ Home Depot here) like a dumbass when the kids kept breaking them pushing them too hard, or so I thought. I had no clue it was the seal and once I seen your vid I replaced it and it's allgoodness now 👍. On a side note you saved my kids because I planned on handing out plantation style ass whoopings if I had to go back to the hardware store again today for another damn toilet handle.
Lol
thx
Thank you sooooo much ❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹
You're welcome. Glad I could help!
Awesome DIY video!
Thanks!
I so feel like Wonder Woman fixing my toilet 🤣 great video & very helpful! Fixed it in a flash.
Thanks for demystifying a simple toilet repair.
If I can do it, anyone can!
Thank you! $2 and 10 minutes. Great video.
Joseph Newman Glad it worked for you!
Wow. You saved me some real grief. That WAS easy. I was ready to replace the entire tower to try to get at that rubber washer which I could see was breaking apart. A lot less time and a $3 part here locally. There is no substitute for experience. Thank you for sharing it.
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Thank you ! Working like it's supposed to now.
Way to go!
Wow! Easy! Thank you!!
Glad it worked for you!
Awesome!
Good job...well put together video with clear steps, good audio quality, and good camera work that shows what is going on.
Thanks for the kind, affirming words.
Manly Moments plus it resolved my problem
Thank You so much. It was just as easy as you said and yes you saved me from calling a plumber.
That’s good news! Thanks for sharing. Happy flushing.
Thank you sir
No problem.
Thanks so much, this is the 2nd video of this type, I watched on how to fix the problem with hard to flush handle. I was amazed at how quickly I got this done. I had been waiting on what to do about the problem, being a spare bathroom wasn't so concerned, but it got harder & harder to flush. It cost me $2.99 & tax to do myself. Whoo hoo! Plus, being a female, I'm not afraid to fix what I can, money is tight. I would suggest 'knowing' your toilet and which seal you need. My local hardware store had 2-3 to choose from, luckily I knew the brand and eyeballed the old one that was in the tank. Feeling accomplished!
Way to go! Feels pretty good when you can check this one off the list!
@@manlymoments8544 Yes! It feels great to have one more thing marked off the list! My son had to test it when he was here to see if I really fixed the toilet handle, lol. It IS fixed!
Just want to come back through and tell you thank you ever so much for this upload. Nothing like potty training and they can't flush by themselves. He's as thankful as I am for your assistance. Who'd a thought $1.99 could fix an ongoing situation
I’m so glad this was helpful. Made my day.
@@manlymoments8544 no you made ours. Didn't even need the extra pieces, just the 2 buck lil gasket piece. Thanks again. Who knew it was that simple? Well besides you lol. My 2y/o son is head over heels going all by himself now.
Thanks for saving me money! Fixed it for $2.99!
Thanks for the video. I was able to fix my toilet handle this morning after watching.
Amanda Sans I love it! Thanks for the positive comment!
Thank you sir, my neighbor have same problem. I went to look at his toilet but I had no idea why it was sticking. 🙏
Glad to be able to help!
Thank you. I bought the seals, there were 2 so I assumed one was extra. Actually one had a tab on it for the Kohler toilet which I have . I didn’t realize that and used the one without the tab. Do I have to take it apart again and put the seal with the tab in? It seems to be working ok and ever so easy to flush. Thank you for your easy to follow clear instructions.
Way to go, Shelley! If the seal you put in works, no need to replace it. Just save the extra for another day. You'll be glad you have it on hand. And now you know how to do it!
Thank u waiting 2 weeks for the super to come cuz I can't flush at all. I will be buying the valve tomorrow and fixing it myself.
Let me know how it goes for you.
Thanks man, just fixed my toilet.
Way to go!
Thank you for this video! I just made the repair. Took me two tries as I don't think I put the seal on right. Also, there was a black seal below it that seems to be deteriorating. It was like black ink all over my hands. Maybe that one has to be replaced , too? I appreciate any insight. So far, so good. Toilet is filled and quiet. Part cost me $2.10 at Home Depot. Thanks, again!
Nice wor,k, Jim. Way to stay with it. You don't have to worry about the black seal. And yes, my fingers usually get some black on them every time I change the red seal. But it washes off.
Thank you for this video,I love that you were honest and also thank you for giving step by step instructions, extremely helpful!
So glad you found this helpful!
Robbie,
Good job flushing the problem!
If I can do it, anyone can.
You sir have made this annoying issue disappear 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you very much Rob, my wife made it.
Glad it worked!
Thank you very much for this awesome tutorial! I wasn't sure if my toilet would be different in some way, but every single thing was exactly as you described!
Nice job! Way to stay with it!
I cannot wait to impress my husband. Great video
Excellent tutorial! There are several sizes of rings. How do I know what size to purchase before removing the old one?
I usually take the old one off and take it to the store with me, so I can make sure I buy the right size.
Great video. Plumber can not come until Monday. If i get my cast off my arm by that time going to try it.
T. John Mc,Manus Let me know how it turns out!
@@manlymoments8544 Thanks for getting back with me. It mainly depends if i get the cast off. I am right handed. Once again. Thanks.
thank you!! Mine won’t stop running the water after i replaced it… any helpful tips or know what’s wrong?
Could be that the float (the ball on top of the water) isn't going high enough. I've had this happen to me. The rod connected to my float ball is metal, so I bent it slightly until the ball went a pinch higher, and it worked. But I had to play with it until I got it just right. Not sure if this is your problem, but it could be.
Okay you're my husband now. 😉 Thank you! $6.99 for the part and the priceless feeling of doing it myself.
