@racecarfriends - you make a great case 24 GTI 380 S ! My local dealer has a $5k "market adjustment" though and I just cant. After listening to Que's issues with Acura Corp is a huge red flag so that takes integra off the list. Currently Im leaning towards a base WRX even though that giant infotainment is unfortunate. Would love to hear your thoughts on the 24 WRX, I'll check out your back catalog for a video. Awesome channel
Thanks a lot for the compliment, and wow I can't believe they are marking up the GTI's now I guess the word got out. I'd say try shopping around at dealerships outside your area to first try and get a GTI at MSRP, or look at a VW Jetta GLI those are usually priced below the GTI and they have the same exact engine with more interior space, and if you go WRX I'd recommend going Premium or Limited over base unless you plan on modding it heavily.
As a fellow bigger guy (6'5" 290) I really appreciate your reviews and perspectives. I'm a father of two under 2 and we currently own a '22 4Runner but are actively shopping for a new daily driver for myself. Mainly considering either a new or used GTI or Civic SI. Gotta be big enough for me to daily and occasionally throw the dogs or a car seat in the back. Your channel is very informative and helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome I'm happy to know that the channel is helpful, also I feel for you on the 2 under 2 lol I've been there, now I have 3 under 5 😆 I have a 2 year old 3 year old and 4 year old and I've found that the GTI works perfectly with my family dynamic so I highly recommend it.

Black with red details looks great! It's definitely one of the most versatile hothatchs out there, and the interior spec is much better than the Type R! Unfortunately I don't think they sell this special edition here in NZ... 😂

Im really considering the mk8, vb wrx, fk8. Its so hard to choose. Only negative i see on the gti is wheel spin once tuned. I love the way they look tho and get great mpg

Lol yeah I think the GTI is better when you consider the base vs base, but top trip GTI vs top trim WRX the WRX is winning.
I've always thought the Volkswagen GTI was a beautiful car inside and. However, having a Caribbean background and being born and raised in Miami, Honda or Toyota will typically get my money.
Crazy thing is that VW went down when they started having their stuff assembled in Mexico and Brazil. The Volkswagens made in Germany are rock solid. I guess after they really stepped their game up over the years to make sure they are reliable everywhere.
Yup I agree and you and I have similar backgrounds so I know exactly what you mean, I think all the new GTI's and Golf R's are built in Germany so that helps.

Yup I agree on both points, I hope they wise up and bring the manual gearbox back.
No one is literally covering the value prop of the 380s or 380 in general like this channel. We also get adaptive dampers (DCC) that usually comes in the autobahn trim, and it should be mentioned as well.
Thanks and your right I mentioned it briefly in this video but I'm going to make a future video highlighting the DCC more.
Besides tune-ability, why this over the WRX? Also, how does this compare to your 7.5 Golf R?
It's a better daily because of all the creature comforts you get for the money, like on the base model you get heated seats, heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, a spare tire, decent sound system, faster 0 to 60 and overall faster car stock for stock, and I'd say my 2019 Golf R is slightly better than this GTI but only because of the AWD and other small things that's better on the MK7.5 in general like the infotainment system, but overall the MK8 GTI is right there with the MK7.5 Golf R.
I think the camaro LT1 still the best budget sports car if you dont care about the limited seating
Yup that's another great choice, but when you add in the back seat space, storage space, features, cost of ownership plus cost to mod, then GTI beats out the LT1, the LT1 is the best budget V8.
