So many lesser talents have hid behind them. Ian does not hide however. He's brilliant theatrically and makes it work with his vocal style. I forgot how great this is! Glasscock looks kind of like Pete Way in this!
It's not John Glascock. It's Jeffrey Hammond Hammond.
The band you see here is Fase 3 of Jethro Tull - Fase one was "This Was blues band, Fase two was Jethro Tull with Martin Barre and John Evans, not a better blues band BUT a better all around band - Fase three is getting rid of Glenn Cornick and getting a bass player that fell in place with Ian and would not question the music and now they can do all types of music, blues, rock, Mozart folk, and so on the shows started to get tighter, then the best band ever was fast four- Getting Barrymore Barrlow on drums with another keyboard player on synth to get the violin sounds and so fourth and putting John Glasscock a bass player who can sing read and write music and was a profession, the three years 1977 to 1979- No one now even Frank Zappa could out do them so - What is the real and I mean the REAL reason Ian broke up that band but kept Martin Barre? I know. do you? I have to admit it does make sense and very smart on Ian Andersons to see the future be fore it came to be- At the time all us Jethro Tull freaks thought "What the fuck? How and why would he ever break that ass kicking band for? Why? Ian ,say it isn't so. lol lol
Alguna duda de lo que es la música'?
Does anyone have more from this show. It's fantastic, an early (first?) show after recording it, not far from Chateau D'Isaster
Where is the rest of the footage from this show? So they had a multi cam setup and recorded the whole thing and the rest of the footage is just sitting somewhere? Are we ever gonna be able to watch this full show? Been wondering for years.
It was all lost years ago. This section survives because it was cut out to use as a promo for the single. Tragic!
@@dirtyflute wow, what a shame!
@@dirtyfluteNot true!!! I remember seeing this same video maybe two or three years back and it was the whole song. Some idiot cut it!
Funk n folk. Interesting combo. Sounds good though.
I’ve heard this original recording and it’s been ruined you’re actually missing full lines to the song
This video have a stupid cut in the middle due Copyright Claims by WMG as a part of "A New Day Yesterday" Documentary. Sorry, not my fault.
You can watch the whole song at:

One of the best prog rock bands ever . I saw them five times...
What audio source was used here? I like it a lot more than the official mix on the Minstrel 40th Anniversary

Millennials and Gen Z's: "Huh? Lieutenant Dan was a singer & flute player in a Ren faire rock band, before he lost his legs? And their bass player was Inigo Montoya... ?!" 😜
