Steep Grip Angles is generally for pistol brace guns or keeping the stock unextended. A couple inches shorter when deployed. The scope can then be shifted forward in more of a scout rifle setup. The swept back grips likely or a little more accurate placing more weight on the supporting hand. ( Early FG-42) The M-1903 started with a straight stock then added a semi pistol grip. They had promises the Dough it's a pistol.. ( And added a pistol grip ever since.!)

I'm interested in how the vertical grip works out .. do you have to bend your wrist when the rifle is shouldered?
