- A six-week national operation found 200 missing children across the U.S., including children from Arizona.
Operation We Will Find You 2 (OWWFY2) is the second of its kind. The operation spanned May 20 to June 24.
A news release from the Department of Justice reads, in part, "With technical assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), OWWFY2 resulted in the recovery and removal of 123 children from dangerous situations. An additional 77 missing children were located and found to be in safe locations, according to law enforcement or child welfare agencies. Of the 200 children found, 173 were endangered runaways, 25 were considered otherwise missing, one was a family abduction, and one was a non-family abduction. The youngest child recovered was five months old. 14 of the children were found outside the city where they went missing. Additionally, of the missing children recovered, 57% were recovered within seven days of the USMS assisting with the case."

most benign answer would be a parent taking the children without the permission of the other parent. That could be the reason some of these kids were found in a safe living condition as reported. A less benign reason would be the kids found other family/friends/helping hand willing to take them.
And what the other person talking about, I guess, is how the Federal government handles self proclaimed refugees…. or guessing illegal migrants. But US Marshall’s are not responsible for immigration, the poster is pointing the finger at the wrong law enforcement.

It did make national news, and if you look it up, this is what you find: “Of the 200 children found, 173 were endangered runaways, 25 were considered otherwise missing, one was a family abduction, and one was a non-family abduction.” in other words, only 2 kidnappings, one of which was by a family member. 99% were runaways, or kids who couldn’t be found but were then found.
This is just a public relations event by the US Marshal Service.

They're not. There's a difference between "declared missing" and actually missing. Most declared missing are found within a few hours
Most of them are likely with their own relatives resulting from a broken family. Mom divorced dad. Dad lose custody in court. Then Dad “kidnapped” kids to other states. That is why most are found in safe conditions.

They didn't say they were necessarily "sex trafficked," there are lots of other kinds of danger---physical abuse, unsafe living conditions, underage workers. Unfortunately, there are many ways of taking advantage of those who have no voice.

@@EricLing64yeah but think about the last amber alert you received. If you saw that child in passing would you recognize them? Do you even remember their name or what race they were? Most people will answer “no” to all those questions. Sending out an initial alert is still very important especially with abductions of course but we should also continue to be shown a picture of any missing children, regularly. Walmart has a section at the entrance of every store for missing person posters… but not many people actually stop and look at those. Their pictures need to be shoved in our face lol. Idk the best way to do it and I know there are soooo many missing people there’s no way they could show everyone everyday but something more could definitely be happening

OMG! I am so happy for those children, their families and friends. I am eternally grateful for all of those responsible for bringing them home. This is a particularly sensitive subject for me because I was almost grabbed from the streets when I was 12yrs old. A white van pulled up to me as I was walking to the store (Jewel Foods) on a main street in Chicago. It slowed down and the male in the passenger seat began to engage me in conversation asking a lot of probing questions...there's more to this story, but suffice it to say that I hear a voice yell in my ear: RUN LIKE HLL! I did seconds before the vans sliding door opened with other waiting adults inside. Here I am a fully grown man and I get chills and wet eyes every time I pass that area. Also, I often look at the missing children's photo areas in Walmart and say a silent prayer for each of them. I wish that they could do more to bring ALL of those missing, under similar circumstances back home.
In a world of horror for children a glimmer of hope. Way to go U.S. Marshals.

Where's the money in it though? And what if investigators overstep their bounds and start getting to close to a major player? The government would just back them off the case. No, when you see these stories hit the news once ever year or two it's only to provide the appearance that they are on the side of the kids when in reality they are only arresting lower level competition and individuals while aiding all the major players.
Unfortunately, a good number of runaways are escaping terrible living conditions - sexual and physical abuse, or parents who are crazy cult members, of which Arizona has its share.
I hope those kids aren't just being thrown back into the situation they thought they needed to escape.
Surely the ones this happened to will speaks up.

@@4KindnessGal Because the great majority of kids in this situation aren’t just snatched off the streets, like those film makers want you to believe, and it ended up hurting investigations like the successful one here.
I’m from Phoenix Arizona. It was always shocking as a kid going to Walmart and seeing all the missing children posters. I believe Phoenix is the number one capital of missing people, I’m glad all these kids were found safely and I hope that they get returned to their families

The first time I saw this was like 2015? "Grace Baptist pastor devastated by human trafficking arrest" - 2016 "The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced Friday authorities arrested 32 people in a Knoxville human trafficking operation." for almost 10 years now its been going on.
