This is incredible info! Here I am making bread with yeast every week, and not even knowing the power yeast has on plants! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this info! This is a game changer for me!!!😊❤
Thank you for this tip !
I just made it, but instead of sugar I added raw honey ( real honey, not from the supermarket)
Raw honey is anti- bacterial
Warm greetings from the Netherlands
Good idea.
@@RichardPaquette-kt2bw
My pleasure !!
Wow! Tomorrow I'll do the same with my honey!
I was taught to take a teaspoon of potato starch, scratch it into the soil. Then water the plant with the yeast water. It gives the yeast something to break down into the nutrients the plants need. I do that when transplanting the plants into the garden.
On the wood ash, I add that into my soil directly at the end of the growing season. It gives it the winter to break down into the micronutrients the plants need for the next year's crop.
Great tip!
You can also add this mix to your compost teas, didn't catch if you already mentioned that. Another thing I do for the probiotic effects in the soil is after I finish eating a yogurt I swirl some warm water around in the empty container to get that last lil' bit of bacterial goodness out of there and dump it in the plants (or into the compost pail)
Thank you!
Can't wait to try it
Sometimes I use sourdough starter watered way down as fertilizer.
Thank you
I literally just posted a comment asking if this was possible. How do you do it? Just take a glob of starter and dilute it down in a jug of water? Do you let it sit, do you feed it sugar as well? Thanks 😊
@@luisortega3090 no sugar. I just put some in whatever I’m using to water, dilute it good, mix it around and dump it in the soil around the plants.
I'm excited to try this !!
I make sourdough bread and have used my discard in water but wondered if it was useful, now I’m excited. My garden looks lovely so far. I also throw any older bread in my compost heap, cut or broken up. My worms, it’s hard to have worms here in NM it’s so dry, seem to thrive now.
Oh this is a great idea! I threw my discard into a new compost pile because it just seemed wasteful to throw out. I've been worried about that choice but now I'm hopeful and excited!
This was my thought. I put my discard in the compost but now ill use it as a fertilizer ❤
Awesome thanks
Easy and inexpensive solution. Excellent.
Great info thank you!!
Thanks for this informative video. I’m going to try it !!!
Thank you for sharing your collective wisdom. Will let you know of my results.
Thank you. 15 minutes well spent. Loved these tips.
I am definitely going to try this, thanks for sharing.
Awesome tip sir! Will be implementing this immediatly, thank you!!!
This is a very helpful video. I appreciate this so much. Thank you
Thank you so much, definitely will apply this amazing fertilizer.
I have used these ingredients with some success in the culture of several vegetable, and flower types, and have substituted about 100 ml of feed-grade blackstrap molasses in place of the sugar. Adding some urea or manure tea may be helpful, too, and i sometimes also add a gram or two of boric acid powder.
Thank you ❤
Thank you! Perfect timing. 😊
You're so welcome!
Much Thanks for Sharing your creative hacks for a ✨️successful✨️ Garden... Its Very Much Appreciated ❗️
Thank you for posting this. I'm very excited to try your method and am always looking for natural solutions for my garden!
This was an awesome idea and thank you for taking time to show the comparisons. Very valuable. I will do a little more research and likely try this!

Thank you so much for making this video. You did a great job and gave us lots of useful information. I can get wait to try this.
I just got out of bed to make this will def use tomorrow on my garden beds - East TX
Baking soda is awesome to add to tomato plants too.
My garden has been struggling so far this season so this video is very helpful. Thanks for sharing your recipe and experiences.

Yes, my garden too is very slow growing this season, was wondering if something was "put in the air to stunt growth" so we are forced to buy tainted grocery store produce...will try this tip and cross my fingers!
@@karenbee1898 My yeast/sugar jar started to bubble over so put it on a plate to prevent a mess.
This is amaaaaazing ❤
I’m trying today!! Thank you for the knowledge! Never heard of this. I’ll let you know how it turns out.❤👍
Thanks for sharing the home made fertilizer, I would love to try this out on my veg garden as well as the flower garden.
Great tips and ideas. God bless ❤
It's interesting that the EM formula for making your own effective microbes starts out with getting the yeast in the air and rice and then you put that in milk and then you add sugar to that in the form of molasses. Sounds very similar and what you're trying to do is grow the yeast
Thx for this helpful information. I can't wait to try this

Here in the PNW, we have a terrible slug problem. Slugs are attracted to the yeasty smell of yeast and water, and can be trapped using these ingredients. Some say that yeast traps are more effective than chemical attractants and can last longer.
Use beer in low containers near plants - change daily & it'll decimate your slug population.
Yes I agree
😮😮😮
Yikes, yes I remember that now that you mention it. I won’t be pouring that on my garden during slug season.

Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for the information my plants are really steuggling in the 90° heat
How about sour dough starter? It's yeast and there's always some ready in our refrigerator.
Thanks for the video, this is more versitile than the asprin trick (tomatoes only).
Very interesting video ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
In winter as children we used to make a glass of yeast with a half teaspoon of sugar and put it on the windowsill at night. In the morning we drank it before breakfast. Delicious the foam and all. Not every day but regularly. I did the same with my children. I do not know what it did for us or my children but we were and still are all healthy. My mothers family had done this also as children.
It gave you a healthy dose of b vitamins.
👍
Have you ever tried with 100% molasses? It's full of minerals and goodness. Just a thought, I've been making Lab for my plants and molasses is great for the bacteria to eat and then will go on to feed my plants.
I’ve just discovered your site. Wish I’d found it earlier. Thank you
Glad your here.
Can I use same formilar on my onion garden? I am texting you from Zambia kitwe town Andrew Chilweza
Hello. Just liked & subscribed … new viewer here. Thank you for this video. My tomatoes plants are in big plastic bushels with only pro mix potting soil. They’re intermittent sweet million cherry tomatoes and about 3 ft high … growing robust and healthy. Can I use this yeast recipe for tomatoes
(& other plants) in containers?
The earth can be far more forgiving than when plants are
grown in the container environment. I do hope that you can find the time to answer me as I’m eager to start this formula in two days time!
Yes I agree five minutes would have been wonderful

Welcome!!
Thanks for the info. Question 🙋♂️… how many times do you feed the plants with this solution? Everyday? Once a week or what?
How often this can be used? Thanks. New subscriber here from Sydney Australia.
Have you ever tried sour dough Yest?
Just did this with the epsom salts and eggshells added, let's see what happens will update or post new comment with results in a few days/weeks
How long can you store this mixture and how is the best way to store it? Cover it etc.
This would be helpful information.
Good question. I see he hasn’t replied!
New viewer here..love this! On my way to the kitchen to make. Where are you? What zone? Im in w ctrl FL zone 9a.

Will this fertilizer work for berries?
I was wondering if you could come up with a fomula for my center pivot corn. I can fetigate my corn with a 275 gallon tote what would you recomend for a fomula. Thanks
Great video! Clear and to the point. Just mixed some up and we’ll see what happens!
Glad it was helpful!
Will this work on potatoes??
Is that mix good for all vegetables and fruit trees?
How can you use this in a hydroponic system?
You mentioned it helps extend shelf life of fruit. Have you noticed any difference in the flavor of the fruit with these feedings and using yeast?
Same as usual
How often do you put this on the plants.
Great video. Out of curiosity, the gallon jug with the blue handle…is that handle something you added to the container or did it come like that? I reuse water gallon jugs that are clear but have no handle which makes them hard to pour with one hand.
I bought purified water in a jug like that
it's strange, but it takes advantage of the strange situation we are in where pure sugar is cheaper than a few good-tasting vegetable
Can I give this to my seedlings?? About a inch tall, just curious
I wouldn't do it...
How many time you use the yeast fertilizer duriing the summer months?
is this in one quart of water?
Does this have to be used right away or does it store...
Watched your video re DIY fertilizer. On my way to get some yeast. Wonder if Sour DOugh starter would work as well? Alos I liked the look of your greenhouse/hothouse. Do you have any dimensions etc of the build of that green house. I am going to build one soon after my Harbor freight one could not handle the snow load where I live in ccast of Oregon.
Cheers
I think Epic Gardening has one where they show glass vs. plastic builds & other ideas
On a side note- What recording equipment do you use to record your videos? They sound and look great
Just an iPhone i purchased a couple of years ago. The mic is a low cost $30 from Amazon.

Wow. That's really amazing. You bring constant quality content. Thank you!
when do you add the additional 3 ingredients?
Thank you! I'll try it! 👍
EDIT: Can fresh yeast be stored in the fridge? Any idea how long it lasts? 🤔
Yes, and I'd say no more than 2 weeks to be safe. I've used 2 week old "fresh" yeast to make bread without issue.
Far past the expiration date.
I don't know about fresh yeast but dried yeast can be stored in the freezer for many years. In 2020, I made bread with frozen instant yeast with an expiration date in 2013.
You said this is a fungus. So would it, or would it not, be beneficial to apply to plants that appear to be suffering from fungus?
I have Only a few things to fertilize, if you mix the 5 gallons does it have to be use immediately? Will this work on my herbs and potatoes
Better to use at mix time…just 1/2 the recipe
Thanks so much for this video. I struggle to afford expensive fertilizers. Here in Florida it rains so much it washes nutrients through and out of the sand so quickly.
May you consider also adding some type of clay soil or even some bentonite clay to your soil to slow down your sandy soil's absorption rate and loss of fertilized water? That and keep your soil deeply mulched with wood chips or crushed dried leaves and other natural sources of weed seed free dried plant material as a covering for your soil. I have clay soil in my area and have used spent peat moss that lined my rabbits cages as litter adding this combination of rabbit manure and urine mixed with the peat moss in my soil as helped the drainage of my soil. I don't know if you're interested in rabbits, but I would guess that peat moss could also help slow down the loss of water in your sandy soil.
Glad it was helpful!
You could research about charged plantbased charcoal. Based on that you can improve any soil or ground to be richer in nutrients and retain moisture better than before😎.
Additionally yo get rid of some cooking scraps that are hard to decompose like bones, Nutshells, peach and avocado grains and so on if you do your charcoal yourself (there are videos out there how to do it on a easy low- budget base in your wodd stove or fireplace) during your regular fire.
This is fantastic. Thanks!
I’ve used your eggshell concoction and have a played it now several times, especially to my tomatoes… Can you tell me what the numbers are to add to the yeast concoction for the wood Ash, the Epson salt and the ground eggshells please?
Also for clarification on the wood, is it actually the ash that comes off the burnt wood or do you actually take the burnt wood pieces that are all the way burnt Through and crush those up?
Hello, I know you aren't asking me but wanted to help. I burn wood in a wood stove and I use the actual ash that I must remove periodically from the bottom of the stove.
I believe he said to add a TBSP each of ash and egg powder, plus a half tsp of epsom salt, per quart of the water/yeast/sugar solution.

Thank you I’m not sure if he said per court or per gallon, which is why I was looking for Application. And I tried to replay it and for whatever reason in my area it wouldn’t replay. Thank you and if you have anything else to add about what your experience is like please fill me in. I don’t know if you can add pictures here, but feel free to respond and whichever part of media you can. I just put my , third round of the eggshell vinegar concoction onto calcium plants did a full year spray this morning. I’m hoping that will help and that will give me a little bit of time to learn some more about what else I need to do. Thank you for your help and thank you for this amazing video. I just don’t know your name the guy who makes a video.
@@lisakramer9373 I am a bit confused myself! I was going by the size of the jar he initially mixed the things in, then the size of the pitcher he poured it into. The jar appears to be about a quart size, and the (half full) pitcher looks like it holds 2 quarts. I hope I'm right! I'm not sure what the bucket was for, myself. I need to watch it again! I hope you're able to figure it out, and wish I could be more help 🌞
I mentioned the amount to add in vid. Yes the ash I collect is usually the day after burn. Fine powder is best
I think he was showing how to put together the initial formula - then after it foamed up overnight he stuck it in the pitcher for some reason- maybe for easier pouring?? ( I wd have just thrown it into the warm water in the 5 gallon bucket) to dilute , mix & pour 1 cup of diluted fertilizer on each plant😊
Is this good for berry plants or apple trees? I just added raspberry, strawberry, blueberry & apple trees to my garden & im still trying to get tips for them.
When first planting yes excellent.
Amazon sells all of those ingredients.
The stuff from the storz has been polluuted w BCI, now and will also likely do the same to your plants. Mix some sugar in water and let some drops dry on a plate. Or even may reflect lt off the surface of it, to see what I am talking abt.
Can you use this on potatoe plants? Normally they grow pretty quickly ,this year like everything else except my herbs are slow going compared to previous years.
It works for potatoes, tomatoes and any nightshade plants. I'll be using it on my red fingerling potato plants tomorrow...
Is it beneficial for fruit trees
Can you use on fruit trees and berries
He did mention using it on trees and shrubs.
Where are you located? That's important to determine what will work for me. I'm in the pacific north west 8a.

Can this be used on dragonfruits?
Sure

Can this only be used in vegetable plants? Or can it be used for watermelons
Yes
will this work in a fertilizer injector in a drip irrigation system and also using same for wobbler system will it feed at the same rate as using the method you use to water?
It should
@@ZenGardenOasis. ok thank you
Can you use it on flowers?
Yes absolutely
Will this work on Cherry trees ?
Yes
Can this be used on all plants? Are there any fruits, vegetables, herbs, and/or flowers that you shouldn't use it on? For example, acid loving plants like blueberries?
I think it helps all plants as it makes all fertilizers more available
Try blood meal on acid loving plants like blueberries. It works wonderfully on rhododendrons and azaleas as well.

How often do you fertilize with the yeast?
he mentioned it in the video. Use once every 2 weeks..and only one cup per plant
How often do you treat the plant.
I believe he said every 2 weeks …somewhere close to the 10:00 min in the video is where you’ll find it if you want to hear exactly what he says.
